Fubo in Australia: It Has Never Been Sold Here

There has never been an Australian Fubo. What there is instead is a market that already carries the NFL three different ways, which changes the sum quite a lot.

Short answer

Fubo has never operated in Australia. Its own availability article names only Canada and Spain; its corporate descriptions add Molotov in France. For the NFL, the league’s own Australian page names Seven (free-to-air, Thursday Night Football and a weekly Sunday game through to the Super Bowl), ESPN (Thursday night, Sunday afternoon and primetime, with RedZone on Disney+) and DAZN (every game). Three routes, one of them free, before Fubo enters the conversation.

Start here

Australia Is Already Well Served

The absence of Fubo is the least interesting fact about watching American sport from Australia.

Dealing with the absence first, since it is short. Fubo’s availability article names its markets and Australia is not among them:

“We also have services available in Canada and Spain.”

Fubo Help Center — is Fubo available in my country?

No Australian launch, therefore no Australian shutdown. Anything describing Fubo as having pulled out of Australia is describing an event that did not happen.

Now the part that actually decides what you should do. The NFL publishes its own Australian broadcaster list, and it is unusually crowded:

Free-to-air

Seven

The NFL’s own words: “airing Thursday Night Football and weekly Sunday afternoon games, leading up to the NFL playoffs and Super Bowl”.

Subscription

ESPN

“airing Thursday night football, Sunday afternoon and primetime games throughout the regular season (including RedZone on Disney+)”.

Subscription

DAZN

“providing full access to all NFL games from the preseason, regular season and postseason”.

Three routes, from three different companies, one of them costing nothing and running all the way through the playoffs to the Super Bowl. Very few countries outside North America are in that position.

What Fubo would add, honestly

It would not be nothing. Fubo carries American local affiliates, the regional sports networks, the NBA, Major League Baseball, American college sport and the entertainment tiers — a far wider package than any NFL route in Australia. If your interest runs past American football into the rest of American sport, the gap is real.

But for the NFL alone, the sum is different from the one these pages usually assume. You are not comparing an American subscription against nothing. You are comparing it against free-to-air coverage through the Super Bowl, plus two subscription services that each already carry the league, at least one of which carries every game.

That is the comparison worth doing before spending anything, and it is not the comparison most pages on this subject put in front of you.

The company, not the app

Where Fubo Operates, in Fubo’s Own Words

Four markets, none of them in the southern hemisphere.

“Most programming on Fubo is only available in the United States and U.S. territories.”

Fubo Help Center — is Fubo available in my country?

“The programming available in these countries is not the same as what's available in the U.S.”

Same article

That second sentence is worth carrying around. The instinct from a country with no Fubo is to treat it as one service behind a door; Fubo’s own position is that it runs four different services whose programming does not match.

MarketWhat is sold there
United StatesThe full vMVPD: local ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC affiliates, regional sports networks, the entertainment tiers.
CanadaSports only since April 2026 — and every Premier League match, exclusively.
SpainA Spanish free-to-air bundle for a few euros a month. Not a sports vMVPD at all.
FranceNo Fubo brand. Fubo owns Molotov, which is sold under its own name.

What the American Service Costs

Set these against a free-to-air option and two subscriptions that already carry the league here.

Fubo plan (United States)Price per month
Essential, Pro, Core$88.99
Elite, Ultra$98.99
Ultimate$113.99
Deluxe$118.99
Fubo Sports$64.99

Fubo currently sells Pro, Core, Elite and Ultra as English-language TV plans, a Sports + News service and a Spanish-language Latino plan. The figures above are Fubo’s own, published in its help centre and checked on 21 September 2026.

They went up in 2026 after Fubo agreed carriage of NBCUniversal’s networks, announced on 10 June 2026: TV plans by $15 a month, the Sports service by $9. Fubo does not give a single switchover date — it says the date “will vary depending on when NBCUniversal channels become available in your area”. A regional sports fee of $15.99 a month applies where NBC’s regional networks are carried.

Add the $15.99 monthly regional sports fee where NBC’s regional networks are carried, and note that the prices above are in US dollars before any conversion. Against Seven at nothing and a single Australian subscription for the rest, the American package has to be carrying a good deal more than the NFL to justify itself.

For some people it is: the NBA, baseball, college sport and the American entertainment tiers are not available to an Australian viewer any other way through one subscription. For an NFL-only viewer it is a large amount of money for coverage that is substantially already here.

Fubo’s own conditions

Rules That Apply to Any Fubo Account

Fubo’s published rules, including two that surprise people with a television on the other side of the world.

01

Territory

Fubo’s travel article states that the American service is available in the United States and its territories, and that a subscriber travelling outside those areas will not be able to watch it.

02

Local channels follow the stream

The ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC affiliates on an American plan are decided by where the stream is happening rather than where the account was opened. They are the part of the package least likely to behave the way a new subscriber expects.

03

Regional sports need a check-in

Regional Sports Networks do travel, but a device used outside the home area must be checked in from the home area at least once every thirty days. Miss the window and the network stops appearing on that device.

04

Televisions are one location at a time

Apple TV, Fire TV, Android TV, Roku, Xbox and smart TVs stream from a single location at a time. Phones, tablets and web browsers do not carry that restriction.

“Local channels such as ABC, CBS, or FOX will not travel with you. The local programming you receive is based on your location when streaming Fubo.”

Fubo Help Center — watching away from home

“Regional Sports channels will travel with you, any devices you use outside of your home area must be ‘checked in’ from your home area at least once per 30 days.”

Same article

“You can only stream on connected TV devices (Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Roku, Xbox One) or Smart TVs from one location at a time.”

Same article

The third rule deserves a second look from this distance. Thirty days is not a long window when the home area is on the other side of the Pacific, and the regional sports networks are a meaningful part of what an American plan costs.

The second matters too, and for the same reason it matters in Germany: the Sunday-afternoon games an American plan offers are the ones its local affiliates carry. Seven and DAZN are not filtered that way.

What USip actually sells

What a Residential US IP Address Changes — and What It Does Not

What it changes

  • Presents a residential United States network route in place of a non-US one
  • Keeps one consistent network identity through sign-in and playback
  • Separates a location question from an account, plan or rights question while you are working out which one you have
  • Lets you test in a desktop browser before configuring a television or a streaming stick

What it leaves untouched

  • Your Fubo account, your plan, or the channels that plan includes
  • Which local channels you are offered — Fubo says those follow the location the stream is happening in
  • The thirty-day home-area check-in that regional sports networks require
  • The one-location-at-a-time rule on connected televisions
  • Whether Fubo serves you. Fubo decides that, and nothing on this page is a guarantee that it will

USip sells the network part and nothing else. Every rule in the section above is Fubo’s and still applies in full.

The Australian order of operations stands too. Seven is free and runs through the Super Bowl; ESPN and DAZN each already carry the league here. For an NFL-only viewer the cheapest correct answer is very likely one of those three, and it is not ours.

Before you spend anything

Four Checks Worth Making From Australia

In this order, because the order is what saves money.

01

List the sports, not just the league

If the list is only the NFL, Australia already has three routes to it. If it runs to the NBA, baseball or college sport, the calculation changes and this page is not going to pretend otherwise.

02

Check Seven first, because it is free

The NFL names Seven as carrying Thursday Night Football and a weekly Sunday afternoon game through the playoffs and the Super Bowl, at no cost and with no account.

03

Then price the two Australian subscriptions

ESPN carries Thursday night, Sunday afternoon and primetime, with RedZone on Disney+. DAZN carries every game of the preseason, regular season and postseason. One of those may already be everything you wanted.

04

Only then look at the American service

The Sports service is $64.99 a month before the regional sports fee, and the entertainment tiers start at $88.99, in US dollars. It is the widest package and the most expensive, and it is the last step rather than the first.

Residential US IP addresses

Choose the USip Plan That Fits

USip sells residential US IP addresses. It is a network product. This page has put the three Australian routes ahead of it on purpose, because for an NFL-only viewer one of them is very likely the right answer and it is not ours.

Questions people actually ask

Fubo in Australia: Frequently Asked Questions

Is Fubo available in Australia?

No, and it never has been. Fubo’s own availability article names Canada and Spain as its only other markets, and its corporate descriptions add only Molotov in France.

Did Fubo shut down in Australia?

No. There was never an Australian Fubo service to shut down.

How do I watch the NFL in Australia?

The NFL’s own Australian page names three: Seven, free-to-air, with Thursday Night Football and a weekly Sunday game through to the Super Bowl; ESPN, with Thursday night, Sunday afternoon and primetime plus RedZone on Disney+; and DAZN, with every game.

Is any NFL coverage free in Australia?

Yes. The NFL names Seven as airing Thursday Night Football and weekly Sunday afternoon games, leading up to the playoffs and the Super Bowl.

What would American Fubo add that Australia does not have?

American local affiliates, the regional sports networks, the NBA, Major League Baseball, American college sport and the entertainment tiers. For the NFL specifically it adds much less, because the league is already carried here three ways.

Is Fubo Free a way in?

No. Fubo’s own article describes Fubo Free as being for former subscribers, reached by signing in with existing credentials, excluding local channels and regional sports, and unavailable on Roku and Samsung televisions. It is not an entry route for someone who has never subscribed.

Will Fubo launch in Australia?

Nothing Fubo has published says so, and this page will not speculate. As of 21 September 2026 its market list is unchanged.
