Get connected
You need an active USip VPN subscription or trial before your USip profile can connect. Installing OpenVPN Connect by itself does not provide the service.
Start a 3-day trial and get your USip account and connection details. Already subscribed? Go to the setup guide.
Follow the iPhone & iPad guide to install OpenVPN Connect, select or import your USip profile and enter your service credentials.
Connect your USip profile, then check that your public IP location shows United States. You can then open the website or streaming service you want to use.
Using Apple TV? It follows a different setup: USip Smart DNS on the device or router, plus registration of your home network’s public IP. The iPhone and iPad VPN guide does not configure Apple TV.
Smart DNS is different from the VPN connection described on this page: it does not create a VPN tunnel or provide VPN encryption.

Questions before you start
Use OpenVPN Connect with your USip profile and service credentials. Installing the app alone does not provide a USip subscription or residential US connection. Our iPhone and iPad guide explains the setup.
Each USip VPN subscription supports one connected VPN device at a time. Disconnect one device before connecting the other.
No. USip assigns the US location automatically and does not offer a permanent fixed IP. If you reconnect within 15 minutes, you receive the same IP address; reconnecting does not always change it.
Your assigned public IP is exclusive to one USip customer at a time. It is a dynamically assigned address, so this is different from a permanent dedicated IP.
Playback depends on the service, account, subscription, device and current restrictions. Use your own streaming account and any required subscription. Check our dated streaming test results for the service and setup you want to use.
A payment method is required. After the trial, the subscription renews at the billing interval you choose: €9.99 monthly, €39 every six months or €69 annually. Cancel before the trial ends to avoid the first charge.
Choose a plan to start your trial, or follow the setup instructions if you already have USip.
