ESPN in Mainland China: How to Find NBA Games and Replays

01Find the right game on the right date

Use the NBA’s China viewing instructions to reach its local partners. Search 腾讯体育 (Tencent Sports) or select NBA under 篮球 in Migu’s schedule. Use both team names and the date in Beijing. For example, a Friday 7:30 p.m. Eastern start in November, after U.S. clocks go back, is Saturday at 8:30 a.m. in Beijing. In U.S. daylight time the same tipoff is 7:30 a.m. the next day.

If a result opens with the final score, look for 全场回放 (full-game replay) before pressing play. 集锦 is a highlight edit. Check whether the event has your preferred language feed and whether the price shown is for the match, a team or a longer subscription.

02When the ESPN programme is the point

A Mandarin NBA broadcast can give you all four quarters. It does not establish local rights to SportsCenter, a particular ESPN commentator or the U.S. pregame show. If it is an interview or studio segment you want, search the programme and guest by name rather than buying a basketball pass.

The U.S. product also has two different entitlements. ESPN’s plan explanation says Select contains ESPN+ programming. Unlimited includes ESPN+ and the ESPN networks. Before upgrading, read the network label on the U.S. event page. “ESPN” on the schedule is not the same label as “ESPN+”.

03Why an ESPN-on-Disney+ result can be misleading

ESPN’s April 2026 announcement names Japan, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan and Hong Kong for its initial curated English-language Disney+ rollout in Asia-Pacific. It does not announce a mainland China or Macau launch. It also does not promise that the Hong Kong selection duplicates ESPN Unlimited in the United States. Check the market on the announcement before following its sign-up instructions.

04Avoid paying twice for the same American account

If you already pay a participating U.S. TV provider, check ESPN’s activation instructions and the provider’s own package details before starting a second direct subscription. Make sure the email used for activation matches the intended account. A billing receipt proves that you paid the seller named on it. It does not grant mainland sports rights, activate Tencent or Migu, or make a live feed available from a Chinese network.
