Where Discovery+ actually operates
The Discovery+ Map, and Where Australia Sits On It
Australia has never appeared on the Discovery+ map at all, which puts it in a different category from the markets that lost the service in December 2024.
That list is younger than it looks. Two things rewrote it in quick succession: HBO Max launching across Europe, and sport migrating away from Discovery+ towards it. Anything published before 2026 about which markets carry what has a decent chance of being wrong now, which is why the table above is tied to a single dated company source rather than assembled from articles.
Warner Bros. Discovery Sports, 11 February 2026: “Discovery+: streaming of every event feed from the Winter Olympics in all plans in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany and Austria, Select plans in Norway and Sweden; and in Italy on the Sport tier only.”
Read the source | Market | Discovery+ today | Sport on Discovery+ |
|---|
| United States | Yes | No — real-life entertainment only |
| United Kingdom | Yes | No — TNT Sports left on 26 March 2026 |
| Ireland | Yes | Not established either way after March 2026 |
| Germany and Austria | Yes | Yes — Eurosport 1 and 2 |
| Italy | Yes | Sport tier only |
| Norway and Sweden | Yes | Select plans only |
| Canada | No — the WBD service closed 17 February 2026 | A separate Discovery+ operated by Rogers now uses the brand |
| Australia | No — never launched | — |
One source is deliberately absent from this table. Discovery+ maintains its own availability list on the US help centre, and it is out of date: Canada is still on it although Warner Bros. Discovery closed that service in February 2026, and Norway and Sweden are missing although the company listed them the same month. The table above uses the dated release instead.
One row deserves a second look from Australia. Canada is the trap: Warner Bros. Discovery closed its own Canadian service on 17 February 2026, and a different company — Rogers — now runs a Discovery+ under the same brand there. Two products, one name. Any reference to “Discovery+ in Canada” written before 2026 is about a service that no longer exists.
