Look at both lines of the checker
An address checker shows an IPv4 line and, on a dual-stack connection, an IPv6 line. Both must point to the United States, or the IPv6 line must be empty.
Short answer: U.S. Hulu is sold in the United States only, and nothing in a Thai app store changes that. What Thailand does have is a Hulu tile. Since 9 October 2025 it has sat inside Disney+ — the service Thai subscribers knew as Disney+ Hotstar — and it holds the titles Disney has licensed for Thailand, not the American library.
The timing matters in September and October 2026. A new Disney+ app was released in Thailand on 16 September 2026, and AIS says the old one keeps running only until 15 October 2026, without new titles. Before you reinstall anything, look for your show in the new app’s Hulu tile. It may be all you need.
If it is U.S. Hulu you are after — usually because the account came with you from the States — two things must be true together: a U.S. Hulu account on a plan that covers the title, and a connection Hulu accepts as an American household. USip provides the second, and only the second. Below: what AIS and True lines look like to Hulu, why IPv6 matters on about half of Thai connections, and how American schedules fit a Thai morning.

Thai subscribers have met the same service under three guises in five years. Knowing which one is on your phone clears up most of the confusion about the word Hulu.
| Date | What changed in Thailand | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| 30 June 2021 | Disney+ Hotstar launches, with AIS as an official distributor | The version most Thai subscribers met first |
| 9 October 2025 | Disney+ Hotstar becomes Disney+, and a Hulu tile takes the place of Star | The Hulu name reaches Thai screens — as a shelf inside Disney+, not as the U.S. service |
| 16 September 2026 | A new Disney+ app is released for Thai subscribers | Same account, new app: AIS tells its customers to install it and sign in with the email tied to their Disney+ |
| 15 October 2026 | The old app’s last day, according to AIS | Until then it still opens, but new titles stop arriving in it |
Disney’s Thai site lists Hulu beside Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic. When the tile arrived, Thai coverage named titles such as All’s Fair and Would You Marry Me? alongside Grey’s Anatomy, Modern Family and Shōgun. On 29 September 2026 the site listed the Standard plan at ฿199 a month (฿1,590 a year) and Premium at ฿289 (฿2,290 a year), and the tile comes with either — it is not an add-on.
What the tile is not is the American catalogue. U.S. Hulu’s titles are licensed country by country, and the Thai tile carries the Thai licences. Some shows are on both; others are not.
The shortcut worth taking: open the new Disney+ app, tap Hulu and search for the exact title. If it is there, you already have it — legally, on a Thai account, at no extra cost. No list on a website, this one included, can tell you that as reliably as the search box.

Four passages from Hulu’s help centre and Subscriber Agreement settle most of the questions Thai readers ask. Here they are, each with what it means from Bangkok.
| Hulu says | What it means from Thailand |
|---|---|
| “The videos on Hulu are only available in the U.S.” | The library is American and stays American. There is no Thai edition to switch to. |
| The service is “only available in the United States and certain of its territories,” and a subscription “is intended for use by members of a single U.S. household.” | Thailand is not one of those territories, and a household in Chiang Mai is not a U.S. one. |
| On-demand subscribers “are able to stream anywhere in the U.S. — including Puerto Rico and U.S. military bases.” Live TV subscribers are “not able to stream in U.S. territories, on U.S. military bases, or internationally.” | The travel allowance stops at U.S. soil. A holiday on Phuket is outside it, and Live TV is ruled out abroad altogether. |
| Subscribers should not use “any technology or technique to obscure or disguise your location.” | This is the clause a residential U.S. IP runs into. We print it so that you decide with it in view. |
Read together, those lines mean nobody in Thailand can start a Hulu account from scratch, and nothing sold here turns into one. The reader this page can genuinely help already holds a U.S. account — an American who has settled in Thailand, a teacher on a contract in Bangkok, a Thai student home from an American university — and wants it to behave here as it did there.
Why quote the disguise clause at all? Because a residential U.S. IP does change the location Hulu reads, and you should weigh Hulu’s terms before spending anything with us rather than after.

By Media Partners Asia’s count, Thailand is the biggest premium subscription-streaming market in Southeast Asia, and a larger share of Thai homes subscribe — 36% — than anywhere else in the region. The local line-up is deep. Rule it out before reaching for an American service.
| Service | Where it stands in Thailand | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| TrueID | The largest share of Thailand’s 16.4 million streaming subscriptions, at 23% | Second for viewing, with 22% of streaming hours in 2024 |
| Netflix | 13% of subscriptions, but the most watched: 26% of streaming hours in 2024 | Invested about US$200 million in Thai content between 2021 and 2024 |
| Viu | 15% of subscriptions and 11% of viewing hours | Hong Kong-based, and second by subscriptions |
| WeTV | 17% of streaming hours in 2024 | A Chinese service, third for viewing time in the same count |
| HBO Max | Arrived as Max on 19 November 2024, through AIS | AIS moved its HBO GO customers across automatically, and it runs on AIS Play and 3BB GigaTV |
| Disney+ | Since 30 June 2021; Hulu tile since 9 October 2025 | AIS still sells it, as the PLAY Disney+ package |
| U.S. Hulu | Not sold in Thailand | Needs a U.S. account and a U.S. connection |
Figures: Media Partners Asia, as reported by Deadline in November 2025. If one of these services carries your show, watching it there is the cheapest answer. The rest of this page is for a title that sits on U.S. Hulu and nowhere a Thai account can reach.

Hulu decides where you are from the public address your request arrives from. In Thailand that address nearly always belongs to a Thai operator, and it says Thailand whether you are in Bangkok or anywhere else in the country.
| Your connection | Whose network | What Hulu reads |
|---|---|---|
| Fibre at home | AIS 3BB Fibre3 — more than 4.9 million customers in November 2024 — True Online and smaller providers | A Thai address, and on 3BB lines usually a Thai IPv6 address too |
| Mobile data and 5G | AIS, with 46.3 million mobile users (11 million on 5G) in the same report, True and others | A Thai address from a pool that many subscribers share |
| Operator TV services | AIS Play and 3BB GigaTV, among others | Whatever the home line says; these run the operator’s own services, so test elsewhere |
| Condo, hotel, office and campus Wi-Fi | Building managers, hotels, employers, universities | A Thai address, sometimes behind the building’s own restrictions — a failure there says more about the building than about Hulu |
The Internet Society’s 2026 estimate shows how concentrated this is: five networks between them reach about 93% of Thai internet users, and the largest, listed as Advance Wireless Network, reaches 39% on its own. Every one of them is Thai, so every one of them reads as Thailand.
Thai lines are quick — the same report puts the average fixed download at about 292 Mbps. If the picture stutters, measure with the U.S. connection running: the route to America is what counts, not the speed to a server in Bangkok.

IPv6 is the newer internet address system. In Thailand it went from a rounding error to the mainstream in a few years, and it explains why a test here can show ‘United States’ on one line and ‘Thailand’ on the next.
| When | Thai users able to use IPv6 | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Early 2017 | About 2% | APNIC |
| Early 2020 | About 30% — driven largely by AIS and 3BB | APNIC |
| 2026 | 47%, against an Asian average of 40% | Internet Society Pulse |
3BB, now sold as AIS 3BB Fibre3, described its choice to APNIC as dual-stack: a customer line can carry an IPv6 address and an IPv4 one at the same time, with IPv4 shared through NAT. By 2019 about 80% of its broadband customers had IPv6. For Hulu that means your device can reach the internet by two roads at once, and a connection that carries only IPv4 leaves the Thai IPv6 road open.
An address checker shows an IPv4 line and, on a dual-stack connection, an IPv6 line. Both must point to the United States, or the IPv6 line must be empty.
If the IPv6 line names AIS, 3BB or True, the Thai road is still open — whatever the IPv4 line claims.
Either use a connection that carries IPv6 too, or switch IPv6 off on that one device while you test. Then check both lines again.
A phone on 5G and a laptop on fibre in the same condo can give different results because one has IPv6 and the other does not. That is the network, not Hulu changing its mind.

IPv4, the older address system, is where Thailand runs short. The arithmetic fits on a napkin.
| Measure | Figure | Source and date |
|---|---|---|
| IPv4 addresses registered to Thailand | 9,322,752 | APNIC delegation data, compiled by Telecom SudParis, September 2026 |
| AIS mobile users | 46.3 million | AIS, reported by the Bangkok Post, November 2024 |
| AIS 3BB Fibre3 customers | More than 4.9 million | The same report |
AIS alone reported about five times as many mobile users as there are IPv4 addresses registered to the whole country. The numbers only work because addresses are shared: on 3BB, in its own description, IPv4 runs through NAT, which puts many customers behind one public address, while most lines also get IPv6.
That matters for Hulu in one specific way. Its help page lists an address “block listed because of previous anonymous proxy use” among the causes of its location error. A shared address carries the history of everyone behind it; an address one U.S. household uses carries only its own.

Plenty of services will make a checker say United States. Hulu’s help page also names the sort of address it distrusts — “a VPN or VPS” — so the type of address matters as much as its country.
| Option | What Hulu sees | The catch | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your AIS, True or 3BB line | A Thai address, often with Thai IPv6 beside it | Reads Thailand, whatever app you open | Your baseline |
| Free VPN apps | A few server addresses shared by very large numbers of users | Crowded, frequently block-listed, inconsistent from one hour to the next | Nothing you want to measure |
| Commercial data-centre VPN | An address from a hosting company — Hulu’s “a VPN or VPS” | The country is right and the address type is not | Everyday privacy |
| USip residential U.S. IP | A consumer address on a U.S. internet provider | Moves the network layer only; your account, plan and title rights stay as they are | A steady U.S. identity for a test you can read |
If a plain episode from your plan plays in a clean browser window, the network side is done.
Once the plain-episode test passes, stop changing the network. Whatever is still wrong lives in the account, the plan or the licence.

The order is the point. Each step removes one possible cause, so a failure at the end has only one explanation left.
Search for the exact title inside the Hulu tile of the new Disney+ app. If it is there, stop: you already have it. If it is not, open your U.S. Hulu account page and confirm that the plan is active and includes the title — Hulu With Ads, Hulu Premium, a bundle or Live TV. An address cannot add an entitlement the account does not have.
A laptop browser lets you watch the address, the cookies and Hulu’s reply side by side. Set it up with the Windows guide or the Mac guide. The Android and iOS guides can wait until a laptop has passed; the TV, which uses USip’s Smart DNS rather than the app, comes last of all.
With the connection up, an address checker should show a U.S. address on the IPv4 line and either a U.S. address or nothing on the IPv6 line — never AIS, 3BB or True. Only then load hulu.com, in a private window, so that no earlier verdict about your location is sitting in a cookie.
Choose a regular on-demand episode from your own plan and let it run for sixty seconds — no Live TV, no 4K. If it stops, write the message down as it appears. P-EDU101 is Hulu’s location error; an app that the App Store or Google Play will not offer or install points at the country of your Apple Account or Google account; a show that never turns up in search is a licensing matter. Each sends you somewhere different.
An ordinary episode that plays while one particular title will not is not a network failure. It is the plan or the licence, and switching servers touches neither.

The steps change from device to device; what Hulu checks does not. Prove the connection in a laptop browser, where everything is visible, before an app store or a television joins the problem. The four videos were recorded in December 2022. The USip connection steps in them are unchanged, while Hulu’s own screens look different today.

Windows involves no app store, so only three things can go wrong: the connection, the public address and the browser’s stored cookies. Import your USip OpenVPN profile, connect, and open an address checker. On AIS or 3BB fibre, expect it to show an IPv6 line as well as an IPv4 one; neither may name a Thai provider. Then open hulu.com in a private window — Ctrl+Shift+N in Chrome and Edge, Ctrl+Shift+P in Firefox.
Step by step: the Windows setup guide.

A Mac can send traffic past the connection you just started. If iCloud Private Relay is switched on, Safari travels through Apple’s relays instead — turn it off for the test. And look at IPv6 in the network settings: Thai fibre often hands a Mac an IPv6 address, and Safari prefers it when it exists. When Chrome plays and Safari will not, check those two before anything else.
Step by step: the Mac setup guide.

Google Play lists apps by the country of your Google account. A Thai account shows the new Disney+ app, home of the Thai Hulu tile, but not the U.S. Hulu app, whatever the network says. Switching the account’s country affects purchases and subscriptions, so make that a separate decision. If you test on the phone, exempt the connection app from battery optimisation — a tunnel Android closes to save power looks exactly like a refusal from Hulu.
Step by step: the Android setup guide.

The App Store follows the country of your Apple Account. A Thai account offers the new Disney+ app — AIS’s help centre walks its customers through signing in with the email tied to their Disney+ — and does not offer U.S. Hulu. Moving the account to another country affects subscriptions and Family Sharing, under Apple’s own conditions. Once the Hulu app is installed, keep Location Services off for it on the first run, and confirm both address lines in Safari beforehand.
Step by step: the iOS setup guide.
A television, streaming stick or games console cannot run the OpenVPN Connect app, so it uses USip’s Smart DNS instead. Register your home’s public IP address with USip first, then enter the DNS addresses in the device’s own network settings — or once on the router, if you would rather set up the whole home in one go. In a rented condo where the router is not yours to change, the device’s own settings are the way. Smart DNS knows your home by that public address, so if your provider ever changes it, register the new one. Leave all of this for last, after a laptop has proved the account.

One residential U.S. IP — a consumer address on a U.S. ISP, not the “VPN or VPS” ranges Hulu’s help page names. USip and Hulu are separate services: the plans include the connection only — not a Hulu subscription, account, app-store region, home network or rights to a title.
Separate services: these prices are for the USip VPN Residential U.S. IP service only. A Hulu subscription, a Hulu account and access to any particular title are not included.
Take these in order and most wasted evenings — or, given the time difference, wasted mornings — never happen.
Since 23 September 2026 Hulu With Ads has cost $12.49 a month in the U.S. and Hulu Premium $21.49. Downloads come only with Premium, and Live TV is a separate tier that Hulu does not allow outside the U.S.
Hulu With Ads and Hulu Premium have no trial. Hulu’s trials sit on the Live TV bundle, for new or returning subscribers who have been without Hulu for twelve months — the one tier that cannot be used from Thailand.
A title outside your plan fails exactly as a blocked location does, until you look. Live channels, add-ons and 4K are separate entitlements, and an address grants none of them.
The Hulu app follows your Apple Account or Google Play country, not your address. Changing either affects the subscriptions already on it — your Thai Disney+ one included — so decide after a browser test, not during one.
USip provides a residential U.S. IP connection and nothing else: no Hulu account, no plan, no rights to any title. Hulu can refuse any address, and says so on its own pages.

Thailand keeps UTC+7 all year and has no daylight saving. The United States changes its clocks, so the gap to New York is 11 hours from March to early November — in 2026, from 8 March to 1 November — and 12 hours in the U.S. winter.
8 p.m. on the U.S. East Coast is 7 a.m. in Bangkok during U.S. summer time and 8 a.m. in the U.S. winter. West Coast prime time, 8 p.m. Pacific, arrives at 10 or 11 a.m. Thai time.
Hulu says Live TV subscribers are “not able to stream in U.S. territories, on U.S. military bases, or internationally,” so there is no following the broadcast from here. Check the title page before you settle down: an episode is there once Hulu has added it.
Bring the connection up and check both address lines before Hulu opens. If Hulu sees a Thai request first, it stores that decision in a cookie, and it colours every attempt that follows.
Hulu recommends about 3 Mbps for on-demand video, 8 Mbps for live streams and 16 Mbps for 4K. Thai fixed lines average far more, so run any speed test with the connection up — the figure that counts is the route to the United States.
Swapping servers mid-session makes the account look as if it is moving between U.S. cities. Choose one connection and keep it for the whole sitting.
Downloads come with Hulu Premium, in the phone and tablet apps only, for titles whose rights allow it. Start them at home with the U.S. connection up; the episode then plays offline on a flight or a long bus ride with no address question at all.
Nothing on this list forces Hulu to say yes. It removes the noise, so that when something fails you know which part failed.

People ask whether VPNs are legal in Thailand. We have not found a primary Thai source that answers it plainly, so we are not going to summarise Thai law from secondhand articles.
We know of no Thai rule that bans VPN software as such. Rules about what may be reached or shared online are a separate matter, and they can change. If the question matters in your situation — your job, your employer’s network, your building’s rules — ask a local source you trust rather than a streaming guide.
What we can state is Hulu’s side, because it is written down: the Subscriber Agreement asks subscribers not to use “any technology or technique to obscure or disguise your location,” and that applies wherever you happen to be.

Answered from Hulu’s and Disney’s pages, AIS’s help centre and the address registries. Where the honest answer is ‘it depends’, we say what it depends on.
Not as a service you can join. Hulu is sold in the United States only. Thailand has Disney+, and since 9 October 2025 Disney+ here has included a Hulu tile — a shelf of titles Disney licenses for Thailand, which is a different thing from U.S. Hulu.
Because Disney renamed the Star shelf to Hulu in its international apps, Japan aside. In Thailand it happened on 9 October 2025, the same day Disney+ Hotstar became plain Disney+. The label changed; the tile still carries titles licensed for Thailand, so it is not the American catalogue.
If you want new titles, yes. A new Disney+ app was released in Thailand on 16 September 2026. AIS’s help centre says the old app keeps working until 15 October 2026 but gets no new content, and Thai coverage of the launch said existing members sign in with the account they already have.
No. Hulu says “The videos on Hulu are only available in the U.S.” and asks new subscribers “To be located within the U.S.” A residential U.S. IP does not create an account. This page is for people who already hold one.
Because Hulu confines streaming to the United States. On-demand subscribers “are able to stream anywhere in the U.S. — including Puerto Rico and U.S. military bases,” and Thailand lies outside that area — so an active, current account produces a location error here.
Because every one of their addresses is Thai, and many are shared. About 9.3 million IPv4 addresses are registered to Thailand, AIS alone reported 46.3 million mobile users, and roughly half of Thai users also have a Thai IPv6 address. Every one of those routes points to Thailand.
Work through three suspects in turn. First, a Thai IPv6 address still showing beside the U.S. IPv4 one. Second, an old location decision kept in hulu.com cookies. Third, the address itself: Hulu names “a VPN or VPS” and addresses block listed because of previous anonymous proxy use. Fix one, then try once more.
No. Hulu’s wording is that Live TV subscribers are “not able to stream in U.S. territories, on U.S. military bases, or internationally.” The on-demand library is the part worth testing.
Thailand runs on UTC+7 all year. An 8 p.m. broadcast on the U.S. East Coast is 7 a.m. in Bangkok from March to early November and 8 a.m. for the rest of the year. The episode can be watched on demand once Hulu has added it.
It can. Building, hotel, office and university networks sometimes restrict the connection types a tunnel relies on. If the setup works on your phone’s mobile data but not on the building Wi-Fi, the building network is the variable.
We know of no Thai rule that targets VPN software as such, but we have not found a primary source that settles the question, and rules about what may be reached online are a separate matter that can change. Check locally. Hulu’s own terms, which ask you not to disguise your location, apply wherever you are.
No. USip provides a residential U.S. IP connection. Your Hulu account, your Disney+ subscription and the rights to each title belong to Hulu and Disney.
No closure date has been announced. Disney is moving Hulu into the Disney+ app and told Variety in 2026 that it had no current plan to retire the Hulu app; standalone Hulu is still on sale, with new prices from 23 September 2026. Treat talk of a shutdown as unconfirmed.

Hulu’s full rules, the move into Disney+ and every error code are on the hub. Malaysia and Indonesia went through the same Hotstar-to-Disney+ change as Thailand, on the same day.
Every other country — 53 guides across Europe, the Americas, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Africa — is listed on the Hulu hub.
Every quotation and figure above traces to one of these pages; Hulu’s U.S. prices are from Hulu’s own plans page. Hulu and Disney can change their rules and prices without notice, and the address and IPv6 figures carry the dates shown next to them.
Begin in the new Disney+ app. If the Hulu tile has your show, you are finished and you have spent nothing extra. If it does not, the U.S. test takes about ten minutes: connection up, both address lines read, a private window, one ordinary episode from your own plan, one full minute.
A pass means the location side is settled, and anything still wrong sits with the account, the plan or the licence. A failure is only useful if you keep the exact words of the message, so copy them before you change a single setting.
USip supplies the residential U.S. IP connection only. Hulu accounts, plans and content rights are Hulu’s, and Hulu can block any address.
