MGM+ in Mainland China: James Bond Film Rights, FROM and US Accounts
A film with the MGM lion can be licensed in mainland China without a local MGM+ subscription. Amazon describes MGM+ distribution across Asia-Pacific but does not name mainland China in the release cited here. Start with the exact Bond film or FROM episode you want, then check its distributor.
Monthly plan renews after the trial. Streaming access is separate.

What Tencent actually bought from MGM
In 2015 Tencent announced Chinese online rights to a group of James Bond films. Tencent’s original announcement names Dr. No (007：诺博士) and Skyfall (007：大破天幕杀机), and discusses Spectre separately. It names Tencent’s own video platforms as the outlets. If you remember seeing a Bond film on Tencent Video, that agreement explains why the experience looked nothing like an MGM+ subscription.
The announcement is a historical record. It cannot tell you whether Skyfall is included with a Tencent membership today, or establish rights to No Time to Die, a later film. Search with the exact Chinese title, production year and 邦德 if necessary. Check the running time and the label 正片. A 电影解说 result is a narrated recap; a few minutes of footage will not answer whether the feature is on sale.
Three checks before you watch
Match the film as well as the franchise
For Skyfall, search 007：大破天幕杀机. Check the year so the search does not take you to a different Bond film.
Distinguish the feature from a recap
Look for 正片 and check its running time. A short result marked 电影解说 is commentary on the movie.
Read the offer on the movie page
Check whether the selected film is included, available for a separate fee, or only listed. Tencent’s 2015 agreement cannot settle its current price or rights.
A US series needs a different search
For the MGM+ series FROM, search 梦魇绝镇 with the season number and 正片. The word “from” alone is particularly unhelpful in an English search box. Check the cast or series synopsis against Amazon’s description of MGM+ programming before following a result. Similar titles, fan explanations and episode discussions can rank ahead of the programme. We did not verify a mainland subscription carrying the complete series.
If a storefront offers the season you need, check what the price buys. A per-episode price, a series purchase and a membership have different consequences when you change devices or return home. Verify audio and subtitle choices on the episode page.
Does the Asia-Pacific listing include China?
Amazon’s MGM+ distribution announcement names Asia-Pacific among several regions. It also describes a particular multi-service Prime Video bundle for the United States. Neither detail establishes that mainland residents can subscribe to a local MGM+ app. A Hong Kong storefront, a Taiwanese listing and a US Amazon account are three different points of reference.
Use the sign-in tied to the purchase
If MGM+ appears under your US Prime Video subscriptions, open it through Prime Video. A cable-provider subscription may require the provider sign-in. Before leaving home, try one full episode in the correct account and note the title. Amazon’s travel guidance explains why the selection can change abroad. Switching the network address does not transfer a purchase, supply a subscription or guarantee that episode in mainland China.
Connection setup by device
Identify whether MGM+ is billed by Amazon, a US TV provider or MGM+ directly before following the device video. A US residential IP cannot add a channel to your Amazon account or unlock the next season in a Chinese catalogue.

Common questions
Does the Tencent deal mean every Bond film is available today?
No. The named titles and historical licence are evidence of distribution at the time. Check the individual film and offer in the current local player.
Does MGM+ in Asia-Pacific mean MGM+ China?
Amazon names a region. We could not verify a mainland MGM+ subscription from that announcement.
What should I check before paying for FROM?
Match the exact series, season, episode, language and full-length runtime. Confirm the local offer before enrolling or renewing.
