Prime Video in China: The Tomorrow War, Rentals and Travel Rights
Amazon does not identify mainland China in its published Prime Video launch list, which separately names Hong Kong and Taiwan. We could not verify a mainland consumer subscription or a local offer for the U.S. library. An existing Amazon account may still open normally. Check the particular film and the purchase that entitled you to it.
Monthly plan renews after the trial. Streaming access is separate.

The Tomorrow War has two different release records
Amazon lists Chris Pratt’s The Tomorrow War on Prime Video. In China, CCTV6’s 1905 database lists the same 2021 film as 明日之战. It gives July 2 for the U.S. online release and September 3 for the Chinese release, names China Film as distributor and lists a runtime of 138 minutes. Those details help you recognize the right film even if the artwork is different. The Tomorrow War on Prime Video CCTV6/1905’s Chinese release and distributor record
Search a mainland catalogue using 明日之战 克里斯·帕拉特. The Chinese release record establishes which film to look for. Its release date is not a rental offer. Open the local seller’s film page and check whether it offers the feature, in which language, for how long and at what price.
Three checks before you watch
Find the feature
Search 明日之战 克里斯·帕拉特. A mainland cinema release record identifies the film; the streaming seller must show the current offer.
Read the rental clock
If Amazon charged for a rental, check the viewing window before pressing Play. Only start it when you are ready to watch.
Compare devices before paying again
If a hotel TV asks you to rent the film, check the account, edition and purchase route against the tablet that already has it.
Find out what your Amazon receipt covers
Start with the account that paid. A title watched through a Prime membership, a rental from the Prime Video Store and a series supplied by a paid channel may appear together in the same app. They have different terms. An Amazon retail order or a delivery benefit alone does not tell you which video rights you own. Amazon’s terms distinguish subscription, rental and purchased digital content. Prime Video Terms of Use, geographic variability
- Included with Prime. Reopen the exact title and check whether it is still included for your account and location.
- Rental or purchase. Look in the account’s video library. For a rental, read the time limit before starting it.
- Add-on channel. Check the channel name on the receipt before ordering another subscription from its standalone app. Amazon explains Prime Video add-on subscriptions
Why changing the country on an Amazon account is a poor first test
Amazon’s published expansion list distinguished Hong Kong and Taiwan. It dates to the rollout and is useful for that market distinction. For a trip today, Amazon says members travelling outside their home country can stream selected titles and that the available selection changes. It does not promise the whole library abroad. Amazon’s terms also prohibit disguising your location to use Prime Video. A U.S. IP or an accepted card does not grant permission to play a title in mainland China. If you are offered a second purchase instead of Play, compare the account, edition and billing route first. Prime Video Terms of Use, geographic variability
Before relying on a hotel television
If the Prime Video app offers a download before departure, choose the edition you intend to watch and check the audio menu. Keep the download on that device and note any time limit shown. If the hotel television subsequently asks to rent the same film, stop before confirming. Check that it is signed into your account, opens the same edition and shows the same purchase route. A working download on your tablet settles none of those questions for the TV. Amazon’s Prime Video travel guidance
Connection setup by device
On Fire TV or a hotel television, verify the Amazon account and purchase route before accepting a rental prompt. A tablet download belongs to the downloading device.

Common questions
Does the Chinese release of The Tomorrow War prove there is a Prime Video China catalogue?
No. Its Chinese film record identifies a local release and distributor. To establish a current streaming offer, find the full film in a mainland seller’s catalogue.
Does buying USip with PayPal renew Amazon or a Prime Video channel?
No. Those are separately billed products. Look for the Amazon order or channel subscription in the Amazon account that supplied the programme.
