A story that keeps being reported early
No, the Hulu App Has Not Shut Down
The section above showed you a stale primary source. This one shows you the other failure mode: a fresh, confident, widely-repeated claim that is simply not true. Both are worth recognising, because Indian readers get a heavy dose of both.
The claim is that Hulu’s app is closing and moving into Disney+. It has been reported since December 2025 and it has not happened — and unlike the 2020 press release, this one can be checked against a live storefront in under a minute.
Disney’s own US signup page, retrieved 16 September 2026: “select Hulu content available via Disney+; additional content only available via Hulu app.”
Read the source How it started. An August 2025 investor call used the phrase “unified app experience”. Nintendo dropped the Hulu app from the Switch in February 2026. Two real facts, combined into an event Disney has never announced and has never given a date for.
hulu.com, same date, on Live TV: “Live TV is available in the 50 United States and the District of Columbia only.”
Read the source Put the two failure modes side by side and you have a usable rule. An undated page on a company’s own site can be years stale; a confident page on a news site can be reporting something that never happened. Neither is fixed by preferring one type of source over the other — only by checking the thing itself, which is what this whole page tries to do.
