Germany is the market where all of this can actually be checked, because German television databases track MGM+ properly. What they show is a service that carries six of its own series and abandons one of them halfway through.
MGM+ is sold in Germany as a Prime Video add-on at €4.99 a month — up from the €3.99 it launched at in April 2023. It carries Hotel Cocaine, The Westies, American Hostage, Robin Hood, The Institute and Billy the Kid seasons 1 and 2. Season 3 of Billy the Kid is not on it: that went to MagentaTV. FROM is on Paramount+, and Godfather of Harlem is on Disney+.

One title shows the licensing logic more clearly than any explanation of it could.
Billy the Kid ran for three seasons. German television databases list seasons 1 and 2 on MGM+ — the Prime Video add-on — with German-dubbed episode titles. Season 3 is not there. Its German premiere was on MagentaTV, 1 March 2026, Deutsche Telekom’s service.
So a German viewer who watched the first two seasons on MGM+ cannot finish the series on MGM+. That is not a gap anyone announced; it is what happens when rights are sold season by season and the buyer changes.

Read down that column and the pattern is four different companies. Amazon has six of the nine, Paramount has the biggest one, Disney and Deutsche Telekom share another, Warner Bros. Discovery has a ninth, and Deutsche Telekom alone has the third season of a series Amazon sold you the first two of.
It is worth saying what is not on this list. Beacon 23 could not be found on any German subscription service at all — the databases show no stream and no broadcast. That is an absence of evidence rather than evidence of absence, so this page makes no claim about it.

MGM+ arrived in Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands on 8 April 2023 at a lower monthly price, built out of the Lionsgate catalogue. The current figure is €4.99. The launch number is still quoted as today’s in plenty of places, and it is not.
One more German trap. Amazon has sold a plain MGM channel of library films in Germany since at least 2017, at a price that happened to match what MGM+ later launched at. It is a different, older product, and search engines still surface that 2017 page. Two channels, one word, nine years apart.

One plan, one price, no advertising tier. That simplicity is itself a difference: the American service is a single subscription to a single catalogue, and the thing people are usually chasing is that catalogue and its release dates rather than a cheaper tier.
The five-service bundle launched on 15 September 2026 and Amazon’s own announcement scopes it to the United States. It has not been extended anywhere else.
What Germany buys for less is a different catalogue under the same name. That is the whole comparison, and the sections above set out what sits where.

What Amazon actually publishes about where MGM+ is sold — and what it does not publish, which matters just as much.
There is no MGM+ availability list. Neither Amazon nor MGM+ publishes a page naming the countries it serves, which is the first thing to know if you are trying to check any of this yourself. What Amazon publishes instead is a count, in the boilerplate at the foot of its press releases:

Treat the number with care, because Amazon’s own figures disagree with each other. The same boilerplate said 33 countries in February 2026 and 34 in July, and a separate Amazon page updated on 21 September 2026 says “more than 30”. The regions have not changed in any release since February, so the regions are what this page relies on: the United States, Europe, Latin America, Asia-Pacific and Canada. Africa and the Middle East have never appeared in any of them.
There is a second published list that is more useful, because it is a hard limit rather than a claim. Outside America, MGM+ is sold almost entirely as an add-on subscription inside Prime Video — so the countries where Amazon sells add-ons at all are the ceiling on where MGM+ can reach:

Twenty-five markets, and that is why there is no MGM+ anywhere in the Gulf, in Egypt, or in South Africa, Nigeria or Kenya: Amazon does not sell add-on subscriptions in those marketplaces at all.
One more distinction, because it catches people out. The plain MGM channel Amazon has sold for years in several countries is an older library-film channel and is not MGM+. And an MGM-branded television channel abroad is neither: MGM sold its international channel business in 2012, AMC Networks bought it in 2014 and renamed those channels AMC. Three different things, one word.

It is sold here. What differs is not whether you can buy it but what is behind the name. Outside the United States, MGM+ is the service that used to be Lionsgate+ and, before that, Starzplay: the Lionsgate and Starz library plus the MGM film vault.
