Short answer: AMC+ is not sold in Germany. AMC's help centre gives the whole list in a sentence — “AMC+ is available in: The US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand.” — and Germany is not on it.
That sentence surprises people here more than it should, because AMC-branded television has been available in Germany for years. A linear AMC channel on a pay-TV package is not AMC+. Neither is AMC SELEKT, which is a genuine AMC Networks product but a different one, sold in Southern Europe through operators like Orange. If you have either of those, you do not have AMC+, and nothing about your connection is the reason.
The rest of this page assumes you want AMC+ itself — the bundle sold in the United States, with Shudder, Sundance Now and IFC Films Unlimited inside it. A residential U.S. IP addresses the network-location layer. It does not create an account, and it does not move a subscription you bought through somebody else.
AMC+ is not a US-only service, which is worth saying because the phrase gets repeated everywhere. It runs in four markets. Germany is not one, and the list has not been added to in years.

AMC did expand more widely once. A company press release from 12 October 2022 announced launches in Spain, Korea, India, New Zealand and Australia. Of those, only New Zealand and Australia still appear in AMC's current territory lists. Spain, Korea and India appear in none of them.
We will not tell you AMC+ “shut down” in those three markets, because we could not find any AMC statement saying so. All we can say honestly is that they launched in 2022 and are absent from every current AMC source we checked. That is a gap in the record, and we would rather show you the gap than paper over it.
This section exists because a large share of German readers arrive convinced they already have some form of AMC+ and that something is broken. Usually nothing is broken — they have a different product.

Every AMC+ plan includes Shudder, Sundance Now and IFC Films Unlimited alongside the AMC originals and six live channels. That combination is the thing that does not exist on any German subscription.
Even with AMC+, you cannot sign in to Shudder's own service with it. AMC says so plainly: “Your AMC+ sign-in credentials will not work on the individual site and apps for Shudder, Sundance Now, and AMC.” The content appears inside the AMC+ app and nowhere else.
“The content selection varies somewhat based on location, due to licensing restrictions.” AMC says this about its own markets. It is the reason we will not promise you a particular series.
Access to AMC+ is not one lock. There is where the service thinks you are, whether you may hold an account, who took your money, and which app store your device signs in to. These are independent, and a connection changes the first.

Two separate things get raised at this point by German readers, and both are worth settling before you spend money.
The regulation lets you take an online content subscription you bought at home with you when you travel inside the EU. It is a real and useful right, and it is beside the point for AMC+. It applies to a service lawfully offered in your member state. AMC+ is not offered in Germany, or in any EU member state, so there is no German subscription for it to make portable. Portability moves a subscription you already hold across borders; it does not create one.

AMC+ can be bought directly, or as an add-on channel inside Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV or Roku. Those are not interchangeable and AMC does not treat them as one product. An add-on bought inside Prime Video will not sign you in at amcplus.com, cannot be converted, and is cancelled through Amazon rather than AMC.
Decide the billing route before you touch the network. It is the one choice on this page that is genuinely hard to reverse — undoing it means cancelling with one company and starting again with another, and you may spend a month paying both.
A residential U.S. IP means an ordinary consumer address on a U.S. ISP, rather than an address on a hosting range. The distinction is the entire product.
The kind of address a household in the United States browses from. It presents the network-location layer as an ordinary domestic connection.
Commodity endpoints sit on datacentre ranges that are straightforward to identify as such. Streaming services categorise them separately, which is why they stop working and then start again and then stop.
It holds no account, takes no payment, changes no app store and adds no title to a catalogue. Everything in the table above still stands.
AMC's streaming help centres state their position on location-masking tools directly. The Acorn TV help centre — an AMC service — says: “Our service does not support VPNs, proxy connections, or other location-masking tools.” We put it in front of you rather than leaving it out. Follow AMC+ terms, the billing-platform agreement, content licences and applicable law.
The reason most attempts end in confusion is that three things change at once and nothing can be attributed. Work down this list and stop at the first step that gives you an answer.
If there is an AMC channel in your TV package, or AMC SELEKT through an operator, confirm which one it is. Neither becomes AMC+ under any network configuration, and knowing this saves the rest of the exercise.
Direct with AMC, or as an add-on inside Prime Video, Apple TV or Roku. Different products, not convertible. Choose before you change anything else.
Bring up the U.S. residential connection before launching any AMC+, Prime Video, Apple TV or Roku session, and close anything already open. An existing session can keep using the old address.
Check in a separate tab with an IP checker and confirm it reports the United States, not Germany. Do not rely on the client's own indicator.
Windows or Mac. A browser removes the app-store layer from the test entirely, which is precisely what you want while you are still working out which layer is responsible.
One device at a time, and only after the browser behaves predictably. Each additional device reintroduces a layer you have just eliminated.
A desktop browser is the cleanest instrument because it involves the fewest variables. Everything else adds one.

The AMC+ iOS app is a U.S. App Store listing. A German Apple account browses the German store, and that is a device-and-account property rather than a network one. Test in Safari first so a storefront problem cannot be mistaken for a location one.

Google Play's country follows the Google account and its payment profile, not the network. If you went the Prime Video Channels route, the entitlement follows your Amazon account as well, which is a third thing again. Verify the public U.S. address before opening any of them.

No, and this is the most common misunderstanding we see from Germany. Portability lets you carry a subscription you lawfully hold in your own member state with you elsewhere in the EU. AMC+ is not sold in any EU member state, so there is no subscription for the regulation to make portable. It moves what you have; it does not create what you do not.
It moves the network-location layer, which is one of four. It does not create an account, move a subscription bought through Amazon, Apple or Roku, or change your device's app store. Most people who get stuck are stuck on one of those three.

AMC's terms ask for “a valid credit, debit, or other payment method that is accepted by or through the applicable Ecommerce Website” and say nothing about where your card was issued. We looked specifically and found no billing-country rule. We are not going to convert that silence into a rule in either direction.
Nothing we found says so. AMC's last round of launches was in 2022 and its territory list has not grown since. Anyone quoting you a German launch date is guessing.
AMC does not publish a number for AMC+. The terms say only that an account “your applicable AMC streaming service account is for personal, non-commercial use only and may be limited by simultaneous stream and device usage”. Third-party sites quote figures; none of them is AMC.
We do not know and will not invent it. We have not tested from a German address and AMC publishes no such wording. The closest primary evidence is the Acorn TV help centre, which documents a “Not Available in Your Region” message for Acorn TV and states that the service does not support VPNs or proxies.
No. USip supplies the connection. AMC+ is a separate third-party service with its own subscription, terms and billing, and so is any platform-billed add-on.

The single most useful thing this page can do for a German reader is separate three products that share a name. A linear AMC channel is not AMC+. AMC SELEKT is not AMC+. If what you have is one of those, no network configuration turns it into the other, and the money is better not spent.
If it is AMC+ itself you want, no German subscription assembles it and EU portability does not reach it. A residential U.S. IP presents the network location that AMC+'s storefront reads — while the account, the billing route and the app store stay exactly where they were. Those are the layers worth deciding on before you change anything.
