How to Watch U.S. discovery+ in Greece
Already have an American discovery+ subscription and a region error in Greece? See the Android setup behind our recorded playback test, and check whether a local Discovery option already has the programme you want.
Ελληνικά →Do you need discovery+ itself, or one Discovery programme?
The Discovery name can refer to a television channel, a collection inside another streaming service, or the standalone discovery+ app. They do not provide interchangeable accounts or identical catalogues. Before arranging an American connection, search for the exact programme, season and episode you want in the services you already use in Greece.
HBO Max’s Greek help page describes how to browse its Discovery collection. Its Greek provider list includes Vodafone. These are useful local starting points, but neither page confirms every US discovery+ programme or a particular season of Ghost Adventures.
| Your situation | Best next check |
|---|---|
| You only want one series | Check the exact season, language options and availability locally first. |
| You already pay for US discovery+ | Confirm the subscription is active, then test the account and device with the connection described below. |
| You have HBO Max or a Greek TV package | Use that service’s catalogue and login; do not assume they activate US discovery+. |
| You want to create a US account from Greece | Resolve eligibility and payment with discovery+ before buying a connection service. |
Start with the country and owner of your subscription
The official travel guidance treats travel outside North America separately and does not list Greece as a destination with standalone discovery+. This guide therefore concerns the US service, not a Greek edition of discovery+.
If you already have a subscription, check which country it belongs to and who bills it. A direct website subscription, an app-store purchase and access through a provider can require different account or activation steps. The official billing instructions explain where to identify the billing provider.
USip supplies the connection; your discovery+ subscription remains separate. The US terms require US-service-area residency for subscribing and prohibit masking location. Technical playback success does not change those conditions. The test below did not create a new account, approve a Greek card or establish that an account from another discovery+ market becomes a US account.

This record is a useful Android example, not a new test performed on the publication date. Twelve minutes does not establish full-episode playback or access to every title. The record does not validate live channels, sports, television playback, casting, Smart DNS, Greek subtitles or new-account checkout. Confirm the features that matter to you in your own viewing session.
Follow the tested Android connection method
Use a supported Android phone or tablet with the official discovery+ app and your existing account. Check discovery+’s supported-device list and confirm that you can obtain the app for your device. An American connection does not install an unavailable app or change your app-store account.
- Close discovery+ before changing the connection.
- Follow the USip Android setup guide to install OpenVPN Connect and add your supplied USip profile.
- Connect using your USip connection credentials and accept Android’s VPN permission when requested.
- Wait for the connected status, then check that the public IP country shown on this device is the United States.
- Reopen discovery+, sign in to the account that owns the active US subscription and select an included episode.
- Check playback, seeking, audio and subtitles. Keep the connection active throughout the viewing session.
OpenVPN Connect is the connection app; installing it alone does not activate USip. If you already use USip on another device, disconnect that VPN session before starting this one. Record any error before making additional changes so support can identify which step failed.
Check the episode and language options before committing
A programme appearing in search is only the first check. Open the correct season, confirm that the episode is included in your plan, and actually play it. For a long-running series such as Ghost Adventures, compare the season and episode identifiers rather than relying on the series cover alone.
Our session recorded US catalogue access, but it was not an inventory of the entire library. It also did not record Greek subtitles or dubbing. Open the player’s audio and subtitle controls before deciding that the service fits your household. If you mainly need Greek-language options, a local edition of the programme may be a better fit.
For the wider account and catalogue distinctions, see the US discovery+ guide for viewers outside the US.
Match the error to the right next step
| What you see | What to check |
|---|---|
| A location or availability message | Confirm the VPN is connected on the viewing device and reports a US country, then close and reopen discovery+. If the message persists, save its exact wording. |
| A login or subscription error | Check the account email, active subscription and any provider activation. A different connection will not repair an expired plan. |
| One episode is missing or fails | Record the title, season and episode; compare another included on-demand episode. Avoid changing the account’s billing country as a troubleshooting step. |
| The app is missing from Google Play | Check the official app and supported devices. Do not treat an app-store issue as a failed playback test. |
| The phone works but the TV does not | Check the TV separately. The Android record did not test casting or the TV’s connection. |
Send USip support the country, device category, method, programme and exact error. Keep passwords, payment details and private connection files out of the message.
Use the USip trial to answer one practical question
If you have an active US discovery+ account and a supported device, the useful question is: can this setup play the programme you need from Greece for a normal viewing session? Review the current USip trial and plans, then start with the Android method documented above.
The USip trial and a discovery+ subscription are separate. USip’s three-day trial requires a payment method; the chosen plan renews automatically unless cancelled before the trial ends. Review the current renewal price and billing interval at checkout before confirming your trial.
During the trial, test your actual episode and language options on the device you will use. If your final screen is a television, ask support about its setup before deciding: success on an Android phone does not settle TV compatibility. A successful homepage load is not the same as a successful viewing session.
USip plans & trial
Check the current price and trial conditions before subscribing. Streaming subscriptions and USip connection plans are separate. For Smart DNS, confirm access and compatibility with Support first.

Is there a Greek version of standalone discovery+?
Greece is not listed in discovery+’s standalone availability guidance. Discovery programmes may have local homes in other services. Check the exact title and season rather than assuming the US app is the only option.
Can I use an HBO Max or Vodafone login for US discovery+?
Do not assume so. A Greek HBO Max or TV-package entitlement is not proof of an active US discovery+ account. Check the service and activation instructions attached to your subscription.
Has USip tested discovery+ in Greece?
Yes. On 8 October 2026 at 16:25 UTC, an Android session using OpenVPN Connect with a USip profile played twelve minutes of Ghost Adventures S27E1. The record marked playback as Pass and US catalogue access as Yes.
Does that test prove discovery+ will accept my Greek payment card?
No. It was a playback test with an existing account, not a signup or payment test. Confirm subscription eligibility and billing directly with discovery+ before buying USip for a new account.
Does the Greece test cover Smart TVs, live sports or Greek subtitles?
No. It documents one on-demand Android session. A television, casting, Smart DNS, a live event and particular language tracks each need their own check.
