Paramount+ in China: How to Find a Star Trek Film or Series

01One Chinese franchise name, several different purchases

If you want Star Trek Beyond, search for 星际迷航3：超越星辰. The CCTV6/1905 record identifies the 2016 film and its Chinese cinema release. A shortened search for 星际迷航 brings an entire franchise into play. For an episodic show, change your search strategy. Add the series subtitle, season and episode number. A result with a single feature-length runtime will not answer whether a particular TV episode is available. A premiere report, film database or theatrical trailer is useful for identification. You still need a current local offer with a price or included-plan label.

02What Tencent actually licensed

Tencent’s announcement in November 2015 covered new Paramount Pictures theatrical releases starting in April 2016. It described a 12-month period after theatrical release for mainland subscription and transactional video rights. It specifically named Star Trek Beyond. Use the deal as a pointer for where a film has previously been sold. In Tencent Video, compare 会员 (membership) with 单片付费 (pay for the individual film). Check whether the price is for a rental or another entitlement and which audio tracks the actual player offers. We did not confirm a current mainland rental price or title playback.

03If your existing Paramount+ login works

Opening an account screen shows that the credentials were accepted. Before changing any payment settings, check the service territory and how your subscription was obtained. Paramount’s region selector does not list a direct mainland storefront. A Hong Kong or Taiwan result for a licensed series also cannot establish a mainland Paramount+ offer. Paramount’s U.S. terms discuss territory and different billing routes, including purchases through third parties. If you purchased a channel inside another video service, check that service’s subscription controls and player first. 04What to write down when a listing fails

Record the exact work, not just “Star Trek”. Note the distributor shown on the film page, the provider asking for money, the language selected and the screen where the error appears. If an episode selector is missing, you may have opened a movie, a promotional clip or a catalogue page. If the correct title asks you to subscribe, check its precise plan and territory before paying for a network connection.
