ESPN in Canada: The Bundle Here Is Crave and TSN

Canadian readers often arrive expecting the American bundle logic — Disney+, Hulu, ESPN — and find something different. Canada has a Disney bundle. Its sports half is TSN, and ESPN is not part of it.

Short answer

Canada’s Disney bundle pairs Disney+ with Crave and TSN, launched on 27 August 2025, and Bell’s own announcement does not mention ESPN anywhere. There is no Canadian ESPN subscription to buy and no ESPN tile in the Canadian bundle. A residential US IP is only useful if what you want sits on the American ESPN service specifically — and TSN may already carry it.

What Canada actually sells

The Canadian Bundle Is Disney+, Crave and TSN

If you are comparing against the American bundle, this is the difference that matters most.

27 August 2025

Disney+ with Crave and TSN

Bell Media launched the bundles, with the Basic tier from $15.75 — described as “a savings of 24% and includes Crave Basic and Disney+ Standard with Ads”.

Not mentioned

ESPN

ESPN appears nowhere in that announcement. The sports component of the Canadian bundle is TSN.

“Basic Bundle — a savings of 24% and includes Crave Basic and Disney+ Standard with Ads”

Bell Media, announcing the bundles

So the Canadian equivalent of “Disney+ with ESPN” is “Disney+ with TSN”, and the two are not interchangeable. TSN is a Canadian sports network with Canadian rights.

About TSN and ESPN content

TSN and RDS have historically carried ESPN programming under a supply agreement. We are not going to tell you that arrangement is in force today, because the most recent primary source we could find announcing it is from December 2013, and a thirteen-year-old press release is not evidence about 2026.

That is a deliberate gap rather than an oversight. The honest version is: check TSN’s own listing for the specific event you want. If it is there, you do not need an American subscription at all, and if it is not, you know what you are actually shopping for.

Why the bundle stops at the border

The US Terms Explain the Canadian Bundle’s Shape

Canada is close enough to the American market that the bundle difference looks arbitrary. The agreement explains it in one sentence.

“The ESPN and Hulu Services are only available in the United States and certain of its territories.”

Disney+, ESPN, and Hulu Subscriber Agreement, effective 5 February 2026

That is why Bell’s bundle pairs Disney+ with Crave and TSN rather than with ESPN. It is not an omission on Bell’s part — ESPN is not a product that can be sold into a Canadian bundle.

The travel clause names the Disney+ Service, which is the part of the bundle that does cross borders:

“This Agreement applies if you purchase a subscription to the Disney+ Service in the U.S. and any supported U.S. territories and use it in other geographic locations where the Disney+ Service is made available.”

Same agreement, effective 5 February 2026

So a Canadian Disney+ subscription and an American ESPN subscription are governed by different sentences in the same agreement. Crave and TSN are outside it entirely, with their own Canadian terms.

American Prices, Against a Canadian Bundle

Worth comparing against what Bell already sells you, because the overlap with TSN is real even where we will not assert its extent.

ESPN+ library

ESPN Select

$13.99

$139.99 per year

  • The library formerly sold as ESPN+
  • 30 for 30, originals, replays and highlights
  • Does not by itself include every ESPN linear network
  • Event blackouts and league rules still apply

These are ESPN’s standalone US prices, checked 20 September 2026. They rose on 17 September 2026; subscribers from before 20 August 2026 keep the old price until their first billing date after that.

Canadian rights to North American sport are extensive, so the honest advice is to look up your specific event on TSN before paying for either of these.

What the connection touches

What a US IP Changes for a Canadian Viewer

Canada’s proximity to the American market cuts both ways: more of the sport is already licensed here, and more of it carries local- market blackouts that no connection removes.

It can help with

  • Reaching the American service for events TSN does not carry
  • Presenting a single consistent US address across a whole session
  • Distinguishing a border refusal from an entitlement refusal
  • Settling it on a laptop before you reconfigure a set-top box

It cannot change

  • Adding ESPN to the Disney+, Crave and TSN bundle
  • Reaching TSN or RDS rights, which are Canadian
  • Producing a Canadian-issued card that a US checkout will take
  • Overriding the local-market blackouts Canada sees a great many of
Check TSN first

Look It Up on TSN Before You Test Anything

Canada is the market where the local route most often already has what you want, which makes the first step a listings check rather than a network one.

01

Search your event on TSN

Canadian rights to North American sport are broad. If the game is on TSN, no amount of network work is needed and the American subscription is wasted money.

02

Check what your bundle already includes

If you hold the Disney+, Crave and TSN bundle launched on 27 August 2025, the sports half is already paid for. Check it before adding a third service.

03

Connect a residential US IP and verify it resolves

Only if the event is genuinely American-only. Confirm the address reads as United States before loading ESPN.

04

Load ESPN and read the exact refusal

Blackouts matter more in Canada than almost anywhere, because proximity to the US market means more events carry local-market restrictions.

Where each device decides

Devices, With TSN Already on Most of Them

Canadian readers usually have TSN or Crave installed already. Those apps are the comparison, not the competition.

Windows

Best for checking TSN listings and the American service side by side.

  • Check TSN’s schedule before connecting anything
  • Connect the US IP before loading the American service
  • Confirm the resolved address before signing in
macOS logo

Mac

Same comparison; two tabs settle the question quickly.

  • TSN in one tab, American ESPN in another
  • Safari and Chrome can differ at playback
  • Leave the television until the browser answers
iOS logo

iPhone and iPad

A Canadian Apple Account carries TSN and Crave; the American ESPN app is separate.

  • Apple Account country is not set by your connection
  • TSN and Crave need no US IP at all
  • Test in Safari before blaming the store
Android logo

Android

Google Play country follows payment history rather than connection.

  • Play country does not follow your IP address
  • The web player is the honest test
  • Clear app data before re-testing a failed sign-in

A blackout notice on a Canadian connection is a rights rule, not a sign that your network setup failed.

These four walkthroughs were recorded in October 2022 and show the American ESPN+ signup flow, now sold as ESPN Select. They do not cover TSN or Crave.

Questions people actually ask

ESPN in Canada: Frequently Asked Questions

Can I watch ESPN in Canada with a US IP address?

You can reach the American ESPN service. Check TSN first, though — Canadian rights to North American sport are broad enough that the event is often already available to you.

Is ESPN+ still a product?

No. ESPN+ was renamed ESPN Select, with ESPN Unlimited above it. Canadian guides written before the rename, and the four videos on this page, still use the old name.

Does ESPN permit using a VPN?

The agreement is linked in full below and quoted selectively here. In Canada the more common blocker is a local-market blackout, which is a league rule rather than a network one.

Does the Canadian Disney bundle include ESPN?

No. Bell Media’s announcement of the Disney+, Crave and TSN bundles, launched 27 August 2025, does not mention ESPN anywhere. The sports component is TSN.

Does TSN carry ESPN programming?

TSN and RDS have carried ESPN content under a supply agreement historically. We are not asserting that it is current, because the most recent primary source we could find announcing it is from December 2013. Check TSN’s listing for your specific event.

Can I buy ESPN Select or Unlimited in Canada?

ESPN’s own terms say the service is only available in the United States and certain of its territories. The network location is one requirement; account creation and payment are separate ones.

Is a US IP worth it for a Canadian viewer?

Only if the event you want is on the American ESPN and not on TSN. Because Canadian rights to North American sport are extensive, that is a narrower case here than in most markets — check TSN first.
