01A real title match: Planet Earth III

The U.S. Philo catalogue calls the series Planet Earth III and numbers its eight episodes as season one of that title. Bilibili’s mainland catalogue calls it 地球脉动 第三季, meaning the third instalment of Planet Earth, and lists eight episodes. That apparent season-number mismatch describes the same production. On the American list, the first episode is Coasts. On the Chinese page, look for the theme 海陆之间. Check the names before concluding that two seasons are missing.

Start on the series catalogue rather than a viewer’s edited clip. Open the desired episode and look for the language track, subtitles, running time and any membership prompt. An official listing confirms the title and episode count. It does not establish that every episode is free or that the same audio is available on every device.

02Television broadcast, streaming catalogue or just a similar show?

Shanghai Media Group announced a television licensing agreement for this series in 2023. That establishes a specific mainland television deal. It gives no date for a repeat airing today. For an episode you can choose immediately, the Bilibili listing answers a different question from a channel schedule.

If you are looking for a new documentary rather than that exact production, CCTV-9’s documentary guide lists original series such as 航拍中国 (Aerial China). Choose a province or an episode from its archive. This is an alternative programme, not another edition of Planet Earth III.

03Can a saved Philo recording travel with you?

Philo’s DVR guide says that saving a series records future airings, with recordings stored for a year. A cloud recording is accessed through your Philo account. It is not a downloaded file you can take to another app. Philo’s territory policy restricts viewing to the United States and its listed territories. Write down the original series title, season, episode and network. Add the Chinese release title if you know it. Look for the licensor’s series page or an official mainland platform, then check the specific episode. Two seasons on a service and a trailer for the third is a different offer from the complete run. If you find no licensed listing, leave local availability unconfirmed rather than buying an unrelated subscription.
