How to Watch Sling TV in Bulgaria
For someone in Bulgaria with a Sling account, the practical question is whether the American channel will play on their device. Our dated iPhone test covers TNT live. This guide separates that connection check from Sling billing, Bulgarian sports packages and app access.
Start with the U.S. channel, not a general promise of American sport
If you already follow TNT, ESPN or U.S. news through Sling, using the familiar channel may be your goal. If you only want one match or show, first find the exact broadcaster, date and subscription requirement. A U.S. package is not automatically the simplest way to see an American event in Bulgaria.
Sling Orange includes TNT, ESPN, CNN and TBS. The programme matters as much as the channel: a general TNT live test does not confirm a particular match, all sports rights or every show in the schedule. Check Sling’s current listing rather than relying on an old channel comparison.

Do you need A1 or MAX Sport to use Sling?
A Bulgarian TV package does not provide a Sling subscription. Sling and local television services have separate accounts, packages and billing. If you already have a suitable Sling subscription, the connection test described here does not require a MAX Sport subscription. USip also does not bundle either television service.
That does not mean you need Sling for every event. MAX Sport’s official programme information includes NFL and NHL. If your interest is a particular game, check the local schedule and the package you already have before adding another service. The local broadcast may be easier to use and may offer commentary you prefer.
The important comparison is the actual programme. Watching an American TNT feed is a different request from watching a game that is also carried locally. Choose Sling when you specifically need its U.S. channel line-up and already meet its account requirements; choose the Bulgarian route when it already solves your viewing need.

Eight minutes of live playback is a useful observation, not proof of a full match or future reliability. The record does not establish Bulgarian payment-card acceptance, new-account eligibility, local U.S. stations, television playback or Smart DNS. Use your trial to check the channel and device you actually intend to use.
Check three things before you start a USip trial
- Your Sling subscription. Confirm it is active and includes the channel or add-on you need. Resolving an account or billing error comes before diagnosing the connection.
- Your viewing device. Have the official Sling app available on a supported iPhone. Installing a VPN does not install a missing app or change your store account.
- Your intended programme. Find the exact live broadcast or on-demand title. Do not judge success only by whether the catalogue loads.
Sling’s geographic rules limit viewing to the U.S. and Puerto Rico and may block VPN connections. The result above describes one recorded session, not an official Bulgarian service or a promise that Sling will accept every connection.

Set up the iPhone route used in the test
- Confirm your existing Sling login works and the app is available on your iPhone.
- Follow the USip iPhone and iPad setup guide. Install OpenVPN Connect and import the profile supplied with your USip account.
- Connect that profile on the iPhone you will use to watch. Wait for the connected status before reopening Sling.
- Open your chosen channel and play the programme. Check sound and interruptions, not just a thumbnail or programme list.
- Repeat at a normal viewing time and check the connection again if you switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data.
Sling Orange has a one-stream limit. Stop playback on another device before testing so that a stream-limit message is not mistaken for a location problem. USip’s connection allowance and Sling’s stream allowance are separate product limits.
For an iPad, computer or television, confirm the relevant setup and test it separately. A result on one iPhone is not evidence for every Apple device or for a TV connected by casting.
When the app is missing or you want a television
Check Sling’s supported-device information and access to its official app before choosing a device. The documented session used an iPhone with Sling already available; it was not a test of downloading the app from the Bulgarian App Store.
Apple sets its own country and region requirements. A change can depend on existing subscriptions, account balance and payment details. Read those conditions if your actual circumstances have changed; an app-store region is not a VPN setting.
A supported desktop browser may be another route to evaluate, but it is not the iPhone test shown here. For a TV or streaming box, contact USip support before selecting a setup. This VPN record does not prove Sling works through Smart DNS. The television must have its own supported app and connection; a connected phone alone does not provide them.
Plan the broadcast in Sofia time
Sofia is usually seven hours ahead of New York. During evening U.S. schedules on 25–31 October 2026 the difference is six hours because the clocks change on different dates. Use the date-specific information for Sofia and New York.

This table converts times; it does not say Sling carries those events. Check whether your programme guide has already converted the schedule. If a show begins after midnight in Bulgaria, check the following date when you set a reminder or look for its replay.
Use the trial for your actual channel and keep useful error details

- Playback interrupted: check other active streams and the underlying internet connection; note the time and device.
