If you lived and worked in the States and kept the account, it is yours. What changed is the address you use it from, and that is the one part a residential U.S. IP deals with.
Short answer: Hulu is sold only in the United States, so it cannot be bought in Guatemala. What Guatemalans can buy is Disney+, whose Standard and Premium plans both include a Hulu section — a catalogue licensed for the region, not U.S. Hulu.
Many Guatemalan families have someone in the States: 3.2 million Guatemalans live there, by the count of Guatemala’s foreign ministry. If the Hulu account you have in mind belongs to one of them, read the first section before anything else. If it is yours — kept from years you lived there — a residential U.S. IP can give it the U.S. connection Hulu expects, and nothing more.
After that come the Guatemalan details: why an address here is very likely shared, why IPv6 — which more than half of users already have — is the first thing to check, what Claro and Tigo lines look like to Hulu, and a four-step test with an answer you can read.
Hulu sells one kind of subscription — one that “is intended for use by members of a single U.S. household.” For a reader in Guatemala, that sentence decides more than any network setting on this page.

A parent’s, sibling’s or cousin’s Hulu in Houston or Los Angeles belongs to their U.S. household. Watching it from Guatemala falls outside Hulu’s wording, and no connection turns their household into yours. We would rather say so than sell you a setup for it.
Hulu cannot be bought from here. The Hulu section of Disney+ is sold in Guatemala, in both plans, and it is the honest place to begin.
The ties are large and personal. In its June 2026 country profile, Spain’s foreign ministry, citing Guatemala’s own, put the number of Guatemalans living in the United States at 3.2 million — and noted that the real figure may be higher. Hulu’s terms follow the household, though, not the family.

Disney+ reached Guatemala on 17 November 2020 with the rest of Latin America. Since 8 October 2025 its general-entertainment section has been called Hulu, and it comes with both Guatemalan plans.

Netflix, Prime Video and HBO Max are sold in Guatemala too, Prensa Libre reported in September 2025. Between them, the services sold here may already carry what you want, so search them before reaching for the American one.
Search the exact title inside the Disney+ Hulu section before anything else. Regional and U.S. catalogues share some titles and not others, and only a search inside the app tells you which.

Hulu’s Spanish-language packages are live television — and live television is the one part of Hulu that does not travel.
Hulu’s plans page lists a Live TV Español bundle and a Live TV Only Español plan. Both are live-TV products, sold in the U.S.
Hulu says Live TV subscribers are “not able to stream in U.S. territories, on U.S. military bases, or internationally.” From Guatemala the Spanish live channels are out of reach, whatever the connection.

IPv4 is the older internet address system, and Guatemala has very little of it. That one fact explains much of what a Guatemalan connection looks like from outside.

Numbers like these point to shared public addresses. When there are far more connections than addresses, providers usually put whole groups of customers behind one public address — carrier-grade NAT, or CGNAT. We have not seen a Guatemalan provider document its own setup, so we do not say which provider does what; the arithmetic is the point.
One caveat keeps the figure honest: the registry counts addresses under the country each holder registered in, so a regional group can use addresses registered elsewhere. The count is a guide to scale, not an exact inventory.
If you plan to watch on a television, one more point applies: USip’s Smart DNS recognises your home by its public IP address, so whenever your provider changes that address, it has to be registered again.
For Hulu the consequence is concrete. Its help centre lists an address “block listed because of previous anonymous proxy use” among the causes of its location error, and a shared address carries everyone’s history, not just yours.

IPv6 is the newer address system, with enough addresses for every device. Guatemala has taken to it: 47.77% of users could use it in June 2024, the country was above 50% by June 2025, and the Internet Society’s 2026 report puts it at 55% — above the 45% average for the Americas.
Open an address checker with no connection running. If it lists an IPv6 address as well as an IPv4 one, your line has both kinds of address, and both routes are live.
Bring the residential U.S. IP up and reload the checker. IPv4 should now say United States. The IPv6 line is the one to watch: it must be gone, or no longer Guatemalan.
If a Guatemalan IPv6 address is still there, turn IPv6 off on the device for the test, or use a setup that covers IPv6 as well. Otherwise a site that answers over IPv6 still sees Guatemala, whatever the IPv4 line says.
With one U.S. route and no Guatemalan one, open hulu.com in a private window. Browsers prefer IPv6 when both routes work, so skipping this check can give a confusing result on a Guatemalan line.

By the Internet Society’s 2026 estimate, the network of Claro Guatemala (Telgua) serves about 42% of the country’s internet users. Tigo sells home and mobile service as well. Whichever you use, Hulu gets the same answer: Guatemala.

Guatemala’s network is solid in some respects and thin in others. The Internet Society scores its resilience at 51 out of 100 — similar to its Central American neighbours and low for the Americas — while ranking it second in Central America for performance. For Hulu, a line’s quality matters only after the address is right.

Once the address says United States, its type still matters. Hulu’s help centre names “a VPN or VPS” among the reasons it refuses a location.
The same small pool serves everyone, so its addresses are among the likeliest to be block-listed. Results change hour to hour, which makes a test impossible to read.

Each step removes one possible cause, so that a failure at the end names its own reason.
Use a U.S. Hulu account that is yours — one you opened while living in the States, for example — on a plan that includes the title. Before that, search the Hulu section of Disney+ Guatemala: if the title is there, the rest of the test is unnecessary.
A laptop on your Claro or Tigo home line gives the clearest result; mobile data and the television come later. The setup is in the Windows or Mac guide, then Android and iOS.
Most Guatemalan users can already use IPv6 — 55% in the Internet Society’s 2026 report — so after connecting, the checker must show the United States for IPv4 and no Guatemalan IPv6 address at all. On many Guatemalan lines a device has two addresses to check, not one, because IPv6 is common here. Start with a laptop, where you can see both. The four videos were made in December 2022; the connection steps hold, and Hulu’s screens have moved on since.

Safari tries IPv6 first when a line offers it, and on a Guatemalan line it often does. If Safari fails where Chrome plays, look at IPv6 in the Mac’s network settings. If iCloud Private Relay is shown in your settings, turn it off for the test as well: it sends Safari through Apple’s relays instead of the connection you chose.

Google Play lists apps by the Google account’s country, so a Guatemalan account shows Disney+, with its Hulu section, and not the U.S. Hulu app. Changing the country has knock-on effects on purchases, so keep it out of the test. On Claro or Tigo mobile data, check IPv6 exactly as on the laptop, and exempt the connection app from battery optimisation so the phone does not close it.

The App Store follows the Apple Account’s country. A Guatemalan Apple Account will not offer the Hulu app; your own U.S. Apple Account, if you kept one, may. Do not borrow a relative’s Apple Account for this. Changing the country of your own affects subscriptions, and Apple’s own conditions apply. For the first run, switch Location Services off for Hulu.
