Short answer: there is no Spanish Paramount+. Unlike the UK, Germany and France, Spain never got a standalone Paramount+ launch. What serves this market is SkyShowtime, the Paramount–NBCUniversal joint venture, at €5.99 to €13.99 a month since February 2026 — a different service carrying much of the same library.
That makes the first step here different from the other country guides. Everywhere else we tell readers to check the local Paramount+ before spending anything. In Spain we tell you to search SkyShowtime, because if what you want is a Paramount drama or a Showtime series, there is a fair chance it is already sitting on a service you can subscribe to today at a Spanish price.
What SkyShowtime does not have, and never will, is the American sports package — UFC, the NFL on CBS, Serie A and the UEFA Champions League. Those live on US Paramount+ alone. And Spain is the one country in this set where the connection story is genuine scarcity rather than provider preference: fewer than one public IPv4 address per person, and IPv6 adoption around 10%.
Every other country guide on this site opens by telling readers to check the local Paramount+ before spending anything. Spain is the exception, and it is worth saying plainly at the top rather than three sections down: there is no Spanish Paramount+ subscription. It never launched here as a standalone service. There is no Spanish plan, no Spanish catalogue and no Spanish price to compare against.
This is not an oversight on Paramount’s part. Paramount owns half of SkyShowtime, the joint venture it built with NBCUniversal to serve a large group of European markets, and Spain is one of them. Launching Paramount+ here would have meant competing with itself, so it did not.
The practical consequence for you is a cleaner question than readers elsewhere face. In the UK, Germany and France the first job is working out whether the local Paramount+ already covers what you want. In Spain there is nothing local to check — so the question becomes whether SkyShowtime covers it, and if not, whether what you want is one of the handful of things that exist only on the American service.
Most of what makes people want Paramount+ is drama and comedy, and a large share of that is available in Spain right now — under a different brand and at a Spanish price. This is the free check, and it works often enough that it belongs before anything else on this page.

Order of operations: search SkyShowtime, then check whether your Movistar package already includes it, and only then read the rest of this page. Two minutes of searching resolves this for a lot of people at a fraction of the cost.
Once SkyShowtime has been searched, the remaining gap is narrow and specific. It is almost entirely live American sport — which matters, because live sport is also the category where downloads, patience and waiting for a Spanish release date all fail to help.

If your reason for being here is in the first four rows, no amount of searching Spanish services will help and the location question is a real one. If it is in the last row, waiting is free and often works.
Guides about foreign streaming reach for a shortage story constantly, and in most countries it is decoration. In the United Kingdom, Germany and France there is plenty of IPv4 space and shared addressing is a provider decision. Spain is the exception, and the numbers are not close.
Spain holds roughly 0.675 public IPv4 addresses per person — fewer than one each. The United Kingdom has about 1.95, Germany 1.47, France 1.24, the United States around 4.7. And the usual escape route is barely built: Spanish IPv6 adoption sits around 10%, among the lowest in western Europe. Not enough old addresses, and very little of the new protocol. That is the condition under which carrier-grade address sharing stops being a choice.

Why this matters to Paramount+ and not just to gamers opening ports: streaming services score the address as well as the country. An address with one household behind it behaves differently from one carrying dozens of unrelated subscribers, and differently again from a data-centre range that exists to serve proxy traffic. That distinction — not the country flag on its own — is what a residential U.S. IP is actually buying you.
The Spanish silver lining: with IPv6 at around 10%, most readers here have a single address family to verify. The two-protocol trap that catches French and German readers rarely fires in Spain.
Paramount+ reads the public address a request arrives from, and every consumer connection in Spain supplies a Spanish one. The variable is your operator — and Spain has one of the densest fibre networks in Europe, so the operator serving your building may well be one you have never heard of outside your own city.
The only major Spanish operators that leave residential customers on an address of their own. If you are on either, your line is already more individual than most of the country’s — which does not change the Spanish verdict, but does change what a US-address test is correcting.

Two things follow from this that are specific to Spain. First, if you are on MasOrange, one free request improves your own line before you buy anything at all. Second, because IPv6 is scarce here, a Spanish test is usually a single-protocol test — simpler to read than the equivalent in Paris or Munich, and correspondingly easier to trust.

The Spanish reader’s advantage over the French or German one: with IPv6 scarce here, there is usually only one address family to get right. That makes the test in the next section shorter and its result more trustworthy.
An ordered test is one whose failures identify themselves. Run these in sequence and a refusal tells you which layer refused — network, browser, account or licence. Run them in any other order and you get one unhelpful word with four possible meanings.

Sport is the honest answer here. UFC, the NFL on CBS, Serie A and the UEFA Champions League live on US Paramount+ and on no Spanish subscription at any price. A drama that reached SkyShowtime three months after the US is a different, cheaper problem.

Private Relay routes Safari through Apple’s own network, bypassing the connection you just brought up, so a Mac can fail while everything is configured correctly. Switch it off before testing. If Chrome plays and Safari refuses, that setting or Safari’s per-site location permission is why, and reconnecting will not change it.

Apple serves apps by Apple Account country. A Spanish Apple Account will not offer the US Paramount+ app whatever your network reports, and changing that country affects subscriptions, store credit, rentals and family sharing well past this experiment. There is no Spanish Paramount+ app to confuse it with, which at least makes the question clean.

Google Play serves apps by account country, so a Spanish Google account will not offer the US build however the network reads. Separately, exempt the VPN client from battery optimisation — a tunnel Android quietly kills mid-episode is indistinguishable from a block, and that costs an hour of debugging the wrong thing.

A Movistar Plus+ decoder, Fire TV, Chromecast, Apple TV or PlayStation cannot run the connection itself, so it has to live behind the router. Do it last. On a CG-NAT line the router is also where configuration mistakes are hardest to diagnose, which is one more argument for proving the account in a browser first.
One Spanish warning: if you route the whole household through a US address at the router, Movistar Plus+, SkyShowtime, RTVE Play and Atresplayer will also see a US address, and several of them will behave differently as a result. Prove it on one machine before you change the network everyone in the flat shares.

Spain has one of Europe’s most extensive fibre footprints, so on a working setup poor playback is rarely about raw speed. It is order of operations, the route being measured, or something an earlier attempt left behind in the browser.
Bring the connection up and confirm United States before the page or the app loads. Connect afterwards and the request Paramount+ actually judged came from a Spanish address — a verdict that then lives in a cookie and answers on your behalf indefinitely.
Run the speed test with the connection up. Spanish fibre to a Madrid exchange and Spanish fibre across the Atlantic are different numbers, and live sport is the least forgiving content on the service. If UFC is the reason you are here, test with headroom rather than at the margin.

Not for the territory check — Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Seville, Zaragoza, Málaga, Murcia, Palma, Las Palmas, Bilbao and Alicante all present a Spanish address. Its US terms are unambiguous: you must “be located in the Territory in which you subscribed to the Service (for the avoidance of doubt, you will not be able to access the Service when outside of the Territory),” and “You will not be able to access the Service when travelling outside of the Territory.” The same terms ask you not to sign up or access the service “using a virtual private network (“VPN”) or otherwise provide fictitious information or conceal your identity or location.” Paramount’s European terms add an EEA travel allowance — that is EU portability law, it applies to European subscriptions, and it does not reach the United States.
Paramount+ raised US prices on 17 January 2026: Essential is $8.99 a month or $89.99 a year, Premium $13.99 a month or $139.99 a year. There is no Spanish equivalent to compare against, because there is no Spanish Paramount+ — the nearest local comparison is SkyShowtime at €5.99 to €13.99.
