Advertising instead of subscriptions
Tubi’s help centre is direct about it: “Tubi is free, but it’s supported by advertising.” There is no plan to choose and nothing to cancel; the ad breaks are the whole arrangement.
Short answer: Tubi does not offer its service in Denmark. Its help page for viewers abroad opens with “If you’re located outside the United States, you can watch Tubi on the following devices:” — and the places it then names are Canada, Australia, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Panama and the United Kingdom. Denmark is not one of them, and when we looked on 11 October 2026, the Tubi app was not in the Danish App Store.
For free, legal viewing at home, Denmark already has DR’s streaming service DRTV, Pluto TV (here since May 2022, free with ads and with no registration), Samsung TV Plus on Samsung televisions, and Filmstriben, which lends films through the public libraries. The first section below says what each one asks of you.
If it is the American service you are after, the first check takes about ten minutes: a laptop browser, USip’s residential U.S. IP address switched on, tubitv.com in a private window and one free film watched as a guest. Tubi decides whether to accept that connection and may refuse any, ours included, so treat the check as a question you put to Tubi, not a promise from us.

Start with what Denmark already offers without a subscription. Four services stand out, and a fifth, TV 2 Play, is mainly a subscription with one possible free corner.
| Service | What it is | How to watch, and what it asks of you |
|---|---|---|
| DRTV | DR’s streaming service: the public broadcaster’s live channels and its programme archive. FlatpanelsDK’s streaming guide says access is free because DRTV is financed as public service. | In a browser or the DRTV app. A DR login has been needed in a web browser since October 2024, and by 21 January 2025 the rule had reached the TV apps for programmes from the archive. Live channels such as DR1 were left out of it, FlatpanelsDK reported that day, citing DR. |
| Pluto TV | Paramount’s free channel service with ad breaks. It opened in Denmark, Sweden and Norway on 18 May 2022 with “more than 70 unique and locally curated channels” in each country. | pluto.tv in a browser, or the Pluto TV app for phones, Apple TV, Android TV and Samsung and LG televisions. The launch release: “Pluto TV is available for free, with no registration required.” |
| Samsung TV Plus | Samsung’s own channels with advertising, built into its televisions. Its Danish page says: “Samsung TV Plus er 100 % gratis.” | On Samsung TVs from 2017 onwards. Samsung says you can watch without a Samsung account. |
| Filmstriben | The public libraries’ digital film service, run by DBC Digital: about 4,600 films, among them some 650 for children and 1,500 short and documentary films. | Log in through a participating local library where you are a registered user. Each library decides how many points its users get for films; FlatpanelsDK’s guide describes the monthly loans as free (“uden beregning”). |
TV 2 Play is the one to read carefully. FlatpanelsDK’s guide, last updated in July 2025, says the TV 2 regional stations can be streamed free on TV 2 Play while everything else needs a monthly subscription. We could not confirm that on TV 2’s own pages, so look in the app before counting on it.
Pluto TV is still active in Denmark. FlatpanelsDK reported on 23 February 2026 that its weekly reach here rose to 3% in 2025, citing DR Medieforskning, and that the service is carrying on with Danish programme development. Pluto TV belongs to Paramount and Samsung TV Plus to Samsung; each has its own Danish line-up, and neither is a door into Tubi’s American library.
Keep these Danish services on your Danish connection. Filmstriben says its films are cleared for showing in Denmark and can only be watched from Danish IP addresses, so switch the U.S. connection off before you open it. Do the same for DRTV and TV 2 Play, which are made for viewers in Denmark.
Line-ups, catalogues and sign-in rules change. Everything in this table was checked on 11 October 2026 unless a date says otherwise; open the service itself before relying on a detail.

Tubi has not published a reason for leaving Denmark out, and we will not invent one. What can be shown is below, with the source named on every line.
| What we checked | What we found | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Tubi’s list of places outside the U.S. | Ten places in the Americas, Australia and the United Kingdom, named in full at the top of this page. No Nordic country and no member of the European Union. | Tubi Help Center, “Supported Devices Outside of the US”, read 11 October 2026 |
| The Danish App Store | “Tubi: Movies & Live TV” from Tubi, Inc was not listed. It was listed in the U.S., UK, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand, Mexican and Puerto Rican stores. | Apple’s App Store, checked by us on 11 October 2026 |
| Tubi and the European Union | Tubi became unavailable in the EU in 2018, when the GDPR privacy rules took effect. We found no statement from Tubi about it. | Presse-citron, 15 July 2024, citing Variety |
| A Danish launch | None found. The press releases we found name one European market, the UK. | Tubi’s corporate press pages, searched 11 October 2026 |
| Tubi UK | Launched in July 2024. Tubi says the British collection has since tripled to “over 75,000 movies and TV episodes”. | Tubi press release, 22 July 2026 |
| Tubi’s library | Nearly 400,000 movies and TV episodes, by Tubi’s own count. | Tubi press release, 23 September 2026 |
Taken together, the record is consistent. Denmark is inside the EU, where Tubi has had no service since 2018, and the only European country with a Tubi service today is the United Kingdom, which is no longer an EU member. Even there the collection is a separate one for British viewers, about a fifth of the nearly 400,000 titles Tubi gives for its library.
Norway and Sweden are missing from the list too. When Tubi opened in the UK, Presse-citron reported that other European launches would not follow straight away. If that changes, Tubi’s own list is the page to watch, and we will update this guide.

Tubi is an American streaming service with films, series and live channels. Six facts from its own help centre and press releases cover most of what a Danish reader needs.
Tubi’s help centre is direct about it: “Tubi is free, but it’s supported by advertising.” There is no plan to choose and nothing to cancel; the ad breaks are the whole arrangement.
Asked whether a newcomer must set up several accounts, Tubi replies: “No. You can still continue watching as a guest or register a single Tubi Account.” A guest can open a film straight away.
“Tubi Accounts are for individuals who meet local age requirements, such as 13 or older in the United States.” Kids Mode, Tubi’s area for children, can be used without signing in.
Tubi was founded in 2014 and is based in San Francisco. Its press releases describe it as part of Tubi Media Group, a division of Fox Corporation.
In September 2026 Tubi put its library at nearly 400,000 movies and TV episodes. Its British service had over 75,000 by July 2026. What is on offer depends on the country Tubi serves.
Tubi carries “the NFL’s 24/7 free, always-on channel” and says it will stream FOX Sports’ Dallas Cowboys vs Philadelphia Eagles game on Thursday 26 November 2026 at 4:30 p.m. Eastern. The release does not say whether the game can be watched outside the U.S.
So from Denmark the question is never an account or an app. Tubi asks a guest only for time with the ads; what decides the outcome is whether Tubi accepts your connection, and Tubi runs no Danish service.

Tubi’s live channels and events keep American hours. Denmark uses Central European Time, six hours ahead of New York for most of the year and five during two short gaps.
| U.S. time | In Denmark, most weeks | Evenings of 25–31 Oct 2026 and 14–27 Mar 2027 |
|---|---|---|
| 8 p.m. Eastern (prime time in New York) | 02:00, the next morning | 01:00 |
| 8 p.m. Central (Chicago) | 03:00 | 02:00 |
| 8 p.m. Pacific (Los Angeles) | 05:00 | 04:00 |
| Noon Eastern | 18:00 | 17:00 |
| Thanksgiving game, Thursday 26 November 2026, 4:30 p.m. Eastern | 22:30 the same Thursday | Not affected: the game falls outside both gaps |
The gap shrinks because the two sides change their clocks on different Sundays. Denmark leaves summer time on 25 October 2026 and the U.S. follows on 1 November. In spring the U.S. moves first, on 14 March 2027, and Denmark catches up on 28 March. We worked the times out with Python’s zoneinfo and the IANA time-zone data for Europe/Copenhagen and the three U.S. zones. They apply to Denmark itself; the Faroe Islands and Greenland keep their own clocks.
Most of Tubi is on demand and suits any Danish hour; only the live channels and events keep to the American timetable. The Thanksgiving game would fall in a Danish evening, but Tubi’s release does not say whether it can be watched outside the U.S., so do not plan around it.
Tubi reads the public address your connection arrives from. Every Danish provider hands out Danish addresses, so fibre in Aarhus and 5G in Odense look alike to Tubi: Danish.
| How you connect | In Denmark (Telestatistik, second half of 2024) | What Tubi sees |
|---|---|---|
| Fibre broadband | 53.9% of fixed broadband subscriptions | Your provider’s Danish address |
| Broadband over cable TV networks | 29.3% | A Danish address |
| Copper (xDSL) | 8.2% | A Danish address |
| Other fixed lines (LAN, satellite, fixed wireless) | 8.5% | A Danish address |
| Mobile data, 4G or 5G | 8,866,531 mobile broadband subscriptions, ordinary phone subscriptions with data among them; 5G carried 41.2% of mobile data traffic | A Danish address from the mobile operator |
Digitaliseringsstyrelsen, the Danish Agency for Digital Government, publishes Telestatistik, the official telecom statistics. The figures now come out once a year: the 2025 edition is published as data sheets, and the newest written summary covers the second half of 2024 (published 7 July 2025). That summary gives the technology mix shown above rather than market shares, and we quote no shares.
The agency’s provider list for 2025 names the large groups. The TDC group includes Nuuday, whose brands include YouSee, Telmore and Eesy, and Hiper. Norlys includes Norlys Mobil, which was Telia Mobil Danmark until its new name took effect on 5 May 2025, and Call me. Telenor runs CBB, and Hi3G, the company behind 3, runs Oister and Flexii. Whichever of them carries your line, Tubi sees Denmark.
One detail catches people out. If your line gives your devices an IPv6 address as well as the usual IPv4 one, a website can reach you by either. With the USip connection carrying IPv4, an IPv6 address from YouSee, Norlys, Telenor or 3 can still show Tubi that you are in Denmark, so read both lines of an address checker before pressing play.
A satellite dish or roof aerial brings channels, not internet access, so it never changes what a website sees. On a work or campus network, the network’s own rules may stop OpenVPN Connect from connecting at all; check from home instead.

An address checker can report “United States” for very different connections. For a streaming service, what counts is the kind of address and how many people share it.
| Connection | Whose address it is | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Your own Danish line | Your Danish provider’s | Denmark is not on Tubi’s list, so expect Tubi not to play. A refusal here tells you nothing new. |
| A free VPN app | A server shared by very many strangers | Crowded addresses with a history you know nothing about; whatever happens, the result says little. |
| A commercial data-centre VPN | A hosting company’s | The country may read U.S., but a data-centre address is easy for a service to recognise. |
| USip residential U.S. IP | An ordinary consumer address on a U.S. internet provider, assigned to you by USip | Tubi sees a U.S. household address instead of a Danish one. Tubi still decides whether to accept it. |
Nothing beyond the address changes.
We promise no title and no outcome.

Tubi lets guests watch, so the first check involves no sign-up. Change one thing at a time, and any failure points to a single cause.
Set up USip with the Windows guide or the Mac guide, connect in OpenVPN Connect and open an address checker. The IPv4 line must show an American address. If an IPv6 line appears, it must not name YouSee, Norlys, Telenor, 3 or any other Danish provider; sort that out before going further.
A new private window carries no cookies from earlier visits made on your Danish address. Load tubitv.com there, and use that window for nothing else during the check.
Choose any film or episode and let it run for about a minute, ad breaks included. No account is involved: Tubi’s help centre says “No. You can still continue watching as a guest or register a single Tubi Account.”
If the title plays, the address side is settled for now. If Tubi shows an error or a message about your location, write down the exact wording, reconnect once and try one more time. If the message returns, send that wording to USip support instead of trying again and again.
Tubi decides which connections it accepts and can refuse any connection, USip’s included, so a minute of playback today is no promise for next month. USip keeps a record of its own on a separate page, USip’s published checks; this guide does not quote it.

Tubi looks at the same thing on every device: the address. What differs is how much else gets in the way. USip recorded the four videos in November 2022, when Tubi had an older name and different screens; the USip connection steps in them still apply.

A Windows laptop needs no app store for Tubi. Import the USip profile into OpenVPN Connect, connect, check both address lines and open tubitv.com in a private window, in the same order as the video. If you also use DRTV or Filmstriben on that PC, disconnect before going back to them.
Step by step: the Windows setup guide.

iCloud Private Relay sends Safari’s traffic through Apple’s own relays, so the address Tubi sees may not be the USip one; turn it off while you check. Then connect, read both address lines and open tubitv.com in a private window. The video follows the same route; only Tubi’s own screens have changed since 2022.
Step by step: the Mac setup guide.

The connection steps in the 2022 video still apply. The part where the Google Play country is switched to the U.S. is out of date, so leave it out: Google Play has its own rules for country changes, set out in the app-store section below. Check tubitv.com in the phone’s browser with the connection on, and read the IPv6 line again on mobile data, because it can differ from your home line.
Step by step: the Android setup guide.

A Danish Apple Account opens the Danish App Store, which did not list the Tubi app on 11 October 2026. The 2022 video also moves the account to the U.S. store; that part is out of date, so leave it out. Apple sets its own conditions for changing an account’s country or region. Safari at tubitv.com, with the connection on, needs no store at all.
Step by step: the iOS setup guide.
A television, streaming stick or games console can’t run OpenVPN Connect, so USip uses Smart DNS for them. Register your home’s public IP address with USip, then enter the DNS details in the device’s network settings, or once on the router for the whole home; the Smart DNS guide has the steps. If your provider gives your home a new public address, register the new one.
Smart DNS changes what Tubi sees from the TV. It does not put the Tubi app into a TV app store that doesn’t offer it in Denmark, and we could not confirm which TV app stores here list Tubi. Pluto TV and Samsung TV Plus may already be on a Danish smart TV; for Tubi, begin with the laptop.

One residential U.S. IP — an ordinary consumer address on a U.S. ISP, not a server range. USip and Tubi are separate services: the plans include the connection only — not a Tubi account, an app-store region or the rights to any channel, series or film.
Separate services: these prices are for the USip residential U.S. IP service only. Tubi is a separate service, free with ads; a Tubi account and access to any particular channel, series or film are not part of a USip plan.
An app store shows what is offered for your account’s country, and the connection does not change that. This is where things stood when we looked.
When we looked on 11 October 2026, the Tubi app was not in the Danish App Store. Nor was it in the Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish or Icelandic stores; of the 32 storefronts we checked that day, seven listed it.
We did not check Google Play country by country, so this guide says nothing either way about the Tubi app on Google Play in Denmark.
Apple sets out its own conditions for changing an Apple Account’s country or region on its support page, linked in the sources. Read them before deciding anything about your account.
Google Play Help says “To set up a new country or region, you must be in that location”, and that after a change you “must wait at least 90 days” before the next one.
tubitv.com in a laptop browser needs no store, no account country and no app, so it isolates the one thing an address can change. App stores only matter once that question is answered.
Tubi’s help page names supported devices for each place it serves; for the United Kingdom they include Samsung and LG TVs, Roku, Chromecast, Apple TV, Android TV, PlayStation and Xbox. Denmark has no entry, and we could not confirm whether any Danish TV app store lists Tubi.
DRTV and Pluto TV have apps of their own for viewers in Denmark. Use them, and TV 2 Play, with the U.S. connection switched off.
Denmark had a short public argument about VPNs in December 2025. Here is what the government’s own pages show, and where our knowledge stops.
We have not found a Danish law that bans VPN software as such. In December 2025 the Culture Ministry sent out for consultation a draft law on banning online piracy, and the draft included a passage on VPN use. On 15 December 2025 the ministry announced that the passage was coming out. Culture Minister Jakob Engel-Schmidt said: “Jeg går ikke ind for at ulovliggøre VPN, og det har jeg heller aldrig foreslået” — in English, he does not support making VPN illegal and has never proposed it.
The ministry added that it would look at whether the piracy proposal could be adjusted and sent for consultation again at a later date. When we searched the ministry’s, the Folketing’s and the consultation portal’s sites on 11 October 2026, we found no newer proposal about VPN use.
Blocking in Denmark is aimed at particular websites, not at VPN software. Digitaliseringsstyrelsen’s report on the open internet, dated 26 June 2026 and covering 1 May 2025 to 30 April 2026, says providers block sites when a court judgment requires it, or at the request of the National Police and Save the Children Denmark under the filter against child sexual abuse material. The industry body Teleindustrien has also signed a code of conduct under which its members block services that the courts have ruled illegal, and some providers refer to Rettighedsalliancen, an interest organisation that works for the creative industries’ rights online.
That code is how pirate sites found illegal in court end up blocked by the providers in Teleindustrien. The report does not mention VPNs, and Tubi, a free and licensed American service, is not the kind of site it describes. Tubi’s own choice about a connection is a company decision, not a legal verdict, and we never present it as one.
We are not lawyers. If the question matters for your job or your situation, ask a Danish lawyer, and look at kum.dk and ft.dk for anything newer than this page.
Answered from Tubi’s, Apple’s and Google’s own pages, Danish government documents and dated Danish reporting. Where we could not confirm something, the answer says so.
No. Tubi’s own list of places where it can be watched outside the United States names Canada, Australia, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Panama and the United Kingdom. Denmark is not on it, and on 11 October 2026 the Tubi app was not in the Danish App Store. There is no Danish version of Tubi.
Apple’s App Store shows the apps offered for the country your Apple Account belongs to, and Tubi has not made its app available in the Danish store. When we looked on 11 October 2026, “Tubi: Movies & Live TV” from Tubi, Inc was listed in the U.S., UK, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand, Mexican and Puerto Rican stores, but not the Danish one. A U.S. connection does not change which store a Danish account opens.
Press reports say Tubi became unavailable across the European Union in 2018, when the GDPR privacy rules took effect; Presse-citron, citing Variety, described it that way in July 2024. That suggests the service could be reached from EU countries such as Denmark before then, but we found no Tubi statement about it and no Danish launch, so we cannot say more.
Yes, where it operates. Tubi’s help centre says “Tubi is free, but it’s supported by advertising.” There are no plans or tiers; ad breaks are how the service is funded. Free is not the same as available, though: Tubi’s list of places outside the U.S. has no Danish entry.
Not to watch films and series on demand. Tubi answers its own question about accounts with “No. You can still continue watching as a guest or register a single Tubi Account.” Accounts are optional and come with an age rule: “Tubi Accounts are for individuals who meet local age requirements, such as 13 or older in the United States.” Kids Mode works without signing in.
A residential U.S. IP changes the address Tubi sees: an ordinary U.S. consumer address instead of your Danish one. It does not change Tubi’s decision. Tubi decides which connections it accepts and can refuse any, USip’s included, so we promise nothing. The honest way to find out is the ten-minute check on this page: a laptop browser, tubitv.com in a private window and one free title watched as a guest.
No, and there is nothing to include: Tubi is free with ads and lets people watch as guests. USip supplies one residential U.S. IP address, which USip assigns, and the setup to use it. It does not supply Tubi accounts, rights to any of Tubi’s films or channels, or a place in a U.S. app store, and it does not decide what Tubi accepts.
No. Tubi launched in the UK in July 2024 and said in July 2026 that it had “tripled its content offering to over 75,000 movies and TV episodes”. In September 2026 it put its library at nearly 400,000. They are separate collections for separate countries, and Tubi’s list gives no sign that the British service reaches Denmark.
Only if the TV can get the Tubi app, and we could not confirm that any Danish TV app store lists it. A television, stick or console can’t run OpenVPN Connect, so USip uses Smart DNS there: you register your home’s public IP address with USip and enter the DNS details on the device or the router. That changes what Tubi sees from the TV, but it does not add the app to a store. Start on a laptop.
8 p.m. in New York is 2 a.m. the next morning in Copenhagen for most of the year. On the evenings of 25 to 31 October 2026 and 14 to 27 March 2027 it is 1 a.m., because Europe and the U.S. change their clocks on different Sundays. 8 p.m. in Los Angeles is 5 a.m. in Denmark, or 4 a.m. in those weeks.
Tubi says it will stream FOX Sports’ Dallas Cowboys vs Philadelphia Eagles game on Thursday 26 November 2026 at 4:30 p.m. Eastern, which is 22:30 in Denmark. Its release of 23 September 2026 does not say whether the game can be watched outside the U.S., so we can’t say that it can. Treat it as a U.S. broadcast unless Tubi says otherwise.
We have not found a Danish law that bans VPN software as such. A draft law on banning online piracy, sent out for consultation in December 2025, included a passage on VPN use; on 15 December 2025 the Culture Minister took it out, saying he does not support making VPN illegal. Danish blocking orders target particular websites, not VPN software. We are not lawyers; check kum.dk for anything newer and ask a Danish lawyer if it matters for you.
DRTV, DR’s streaming service, has free access because it is financed as public service; archive programmes need a DR login. Pluto TV has offered free channels in Denmark since 18 May 2022, with no registration. Samsung TV Plus is free with ads on Samsung TVs from 2017 onwards, and Filmstriben lends films through the public libraries. Catalogues change, so check each service; we looked on 11 October 2026.
3-day free trial · 14-day money-back · Tubi itself is free and separate
The hub covers Tubi outside the U.S. as a whole. Norway and Sweden, Denmark’s Nordic neighbours, have guides of their own, and so do Ireland and the Netherlands, the other EU countries in this series.
The main pages behind this guide, each read on 11 October 2026 unless a date is given. Tubi, the Danish services and the authorities can change these pages at any time, which is why every fact above carries a date.
DRTV, Pluto TV, Samsung TV Plus and Filmstriben are free ways to watch in Denmark today, each on its own terms. If what you want exists only in Tubi’s American library, there is no Danish version to wait for: Tubi’s list has no Danish entry, and the Danish App Store had no Tubi app on 11 October 2026.
The check takes about ten minutes. Connect the laptop, make sure both address lines are American or empty, open tubitv.com in a private window and give one free title a minute as a guest. If Tubi refuses, keep its exact words and send them to USip support.
USip supplies the residential U.S. IP connection only. Tubi is a separate, free service with ads; its library, its live events and the decision to accept any connection belong to Tubi.
