Short answer: there is no Peacock in France, and there never has been. No Sky-era version closed here the way it did in Britain and Germany; it simply was never on sale. Peacock's own help page says the service streams “within the United States and certain U.S. territories.”
France does have something the other three markets do not: Universal+, NBCUniversal's own service, at a flat €5.99 a month, drawing on the same content and platform as Peacock. It is sold through Amazon Prime Video, Molotov and the SFR, Bouygues and Free boxes — not through Canal+, which is where most guides send you wrongly. Check it before you spend anything here.
What Universal+ does not carry is NBC's live American sport: Sunday Night Football, the NBA, the Olympics, next-day NBC. For that, a residential U.S. IP presents a U.S. location to Peacock. It is not a subscription and not a payment method, and Peacock's terms say you “may not access or use the Peacock Service if you are outside of the United States.” We quote that rather than talk around it.
France is different from the UK and Germany in a way that matters. There, Peacock ran inside Sky until January 2024 and readers remember losing it. In France there is nothing to have lost — Peacock has never been sold to French customers at any point, and Comcast's stated position is that it does not launch Peacock as a standalone service outside the United States.
What France has instead is the thing none of the other three markets has: NBCUniversal's own service, on sale, cheaply. That changes the arithmetic of this page considerably.

The honest order: Universal+ first. At €5.99 it is the cheapest local alternative across all four countries on this site, and if the series you want is a Universal or NBCU title there is a good chance it is already there.
Universal+ and Peacock draw on the same content library, which is why the gap between them is narrower here than in any other market — and also why the gap that remains is so specific. It is live, and it is NBC.
One correction first: WWE is no longer on Peacock. Main-roster Premium Live Events moved to ESPN in September 2025 and NXT livestreaming ended on 15 March 2026.

France leads the world on IPv6. Arcep's own barometer put national adoption at around 63%, and French boxes — Freebox, Livebox, SFR Box, Bbox — have shipped with IPv6 enabled by default for years. That is an achievement, and it is also the single most common reason a French reader sees a US address in a checker and a French verdict from Peacock in the same minute.
The mechanism is simple once you see it. If your VPN client tunnels IPv4 but your browser prefers IPv6 — which on a French line it usually does — the request leaves on your real French IPv6 address while an IPv4-only checker cheerfully reports the United States. Nothing is broken, and everything is wrong.
Most public-IP pages show one address and do not say which family it is. Use one that reports IPv4 and IPv6 separately. If the IPv6 line shows a French address, Peacock is seeing France no matter what the IPv4 line says, and no amount of reconnecting will change that.
Two clean options: use a client that carries IPv6 through the tunnel, or disable IPv6 on the one machine you are testing on. Disabling it box-wide affects every device in the house and some French services genuinely prefer IPv6, so prefer the per-machine version while you are still establishing what works.
Once the right stack is leaving the building, what remains is how the address is scored. A datacentre range shared by thousands of VPN subscribers carries all of their history; an ordinary residential U.S. line used by one household has the profile of a home, because it is one. An advantage, not a guarantee — Peacock can block any address, ours included, whenever it chooses.
If you take one thing from this page that is not about Peacock: check IPv6 first whenever a French line disagrees with a VPN about where you are. It explains more failed tests here than every other cause put together.
Order matters more than any individual setting. Most reports that look like a blocked address turn out to be a cookie written by a page opened a moment too early.

Devices differ in what they hide, not in what Peacock checks. Start on a computer, where the connection, the public address and the cookies are all visible at once. On a French line this is step zero, not an afterthought. In Network Connections, open your adapter's properties and untick Internet Protocol Version 6 for the duration of the test. Then connect, check a dual-stack checker reports United States on both families, and open peacocktv.com. Skip this and you will spend an hour on a problem that was never about the tunnel.

iCloud Private Relay sends Safari through Apple's own network and past whatever connection you established — switch it off first. Then IPv6: macOS prefers it hard, and on a Freebox or Livebox it will be available. Set the interface's Configure IPv6 to Off in Network settings while testing, or use a client that carries IPv6 through the tunnel.

Apple serves the Peacock app by Apple Account country, so a French account will not show the US app whatever the network does. iOS also gives you no simple way to disable IPv6, which makes the phone the worst device to diagnose on — settle everything on a computer first and treat the phone as the thing you configure once it already works.

Google Play serves apps by account country, with the same consequences as Apple's. Android does let you set an APN to IPv4-only, which is occasionally the quickest way to prove an IPv6 leak on mobile data. Separately, exempt the VPN client from battery optimisation — a tunnel killed in the background looks exactly like a block.

A Freebox, Livebox, Fire TV, Roku, Apple TV, Chromecast or PlayStation cannot run the connection itself, so it lives on the router — and French boxes come with their own network features that will compete with it. Run the tunnel in one place only, and turn off the box's own VPN before adding another.
If a browser on the same network plays an episode and a TV app does not, the network is not the problem — store region or cached app data is, and reconnecting will not touch either of them.

If you have reached a screen listing plans, the location question is behind you. Everything that fails from there is billing, and the two get confused only because they fail seconds apart in the same flow.
French cards pay US merchants without difficulty. What differs is the commission sur opération en devise — typically a percentage plus a fixed amount, applied to every monthly charge rather than once. Some French issuers also hold a first recurring dollar debit for confirmation, and a few online banks decline it outright the first time. None of that is a location problem, and none of it is fixed by reconnecting.
The billing address field is where we stop being helpful, deliberately. Peacock's §5.1 prohibits fictitious information, and an invented US address is precisely what that names. Given Universal+ is €5.99 and carries much of the same library, this is a good moment to ask whether the US account is worth setting up on a footing that gives Peacock grounds to close it.

On a French line this is the first check, not the last. Open a checker that reports IPv4 and IPv6 separately. A French IPv6 address next to a US IPv4 address is the answer to your problem, and it is invisible on any single-stack checker.

French fibre is rarely the constraint. If an episode plays but softens and sharpens every half-minute once everything above is clean, that is ordinary bitrate adaptation rather than a block — prefer 5GHz or a cable and stop debugging location.
The two sentences below mean something different depending on why you are here. If you are an American in Paris with an account you have held for years, you are re-reaching a subscription that already exists. If you are opening a new US account from France, you are doing the thing Peacock's §1.1 describes, and you should go in knowing it rather than discovering it at the first billing dispute.

Yes — §5.1: “You may not provide fictitious information or conceal your identity or location, including in an attempt to circumvent limits associated with Promotions or geographic Content restrictions.” So go in clear-eyed. Peacock may block an address, or an account, at any point. USip sells a residential U.S. IP connection, not a guarantee about how Peacock will treat it, and a provider promising you a guarantee is overselling. Decide with that sentence in front of you.

Often. RENATER-connected universities and most corporate networks restrict outbound tunnels, and French hotel Wi-Fi routinely forces its own DNS. The quick diagnostic is a phone's mobile hotspot: if the same machine and the same client work on 4G or 5G and fail on the building's network, the building is the variable.
