What SkyShowtime does not carry is NBC's live American sport: Sunday Night Football, the NBA, the Olympics, next-day NBC. For that, a residential U.S. IP presents a U.S. location to Peacock. It is not a subscription and not a payment method, and Peacock's terms say you “may not access or use the Peacock Service if you are outside of the United States.” We quote that rather than talk around it.
Peacock has never been sold in Spain. Unlike Britain and Germany there was no Sky-hosted version to lose, and unlike France there is no NBCUniversal-branded service either. Peacock titles reach Spain under a different name entirely: SkyShowtime, live in Spain and Andorra since 28 February 2023.
Of the four countries on this site, Spain is where the local alternative covers the most ground — because SkyShowtime is not just a Peacock substitute. It bundles catalogues that are three separate subscriptions in the United States.
SkyShowtime carries Universal Pictures, DreamWorks, Sky Studios, Peacock, Paramount and Showtime content in a single service. An American paying for the equivalent would be holding at least two subscriptions and probably three.

One correction first, because Spanish-language guides repeat it: WWE is no longer on Peacock. Main-roster Premium Live Events moved to ESPN in September 2025 and NXT livestreaming ended on 15 March 2026.

Spain is unusual among the four countries here in that the physical connection is almost never what fails. Fibre to the home is close to ubiquitous, speeds are high and stable, and a Movistar, Orange, Vodafone or Digi line will carry anything Peacock can send at it.
What fails instead is identity. Spain has the most complete local alternative of the four, which means Spanish readers are the most likely to be holding a live SkyShowtime subscription in the same browser, on the same TV, under the same Google or Apple account — and to spend an hour debugging a location problem that is actually two services fighting over the same session.
SkyShowtime carries Peacock content, so it is entirely normal for a Spanish household to have both open. Cookies, cached app data and a signed-in browser profile will happily hand you a Spanish verdict for a page you thought was about Peacock. A private window settles it in one step, and is why it is in the test above.
A Spanish Apple Account or Google account serves you the Spanish app store, and no network configuration changes that. This bites harder in Spain precisely because the local app you already have installed is a legitimate one — so nothing looks broken, and the wrong app simply works.
Once identity is clean, what is left is how the address is scored. A datacentre range shared by thousands of VPN subscribers carries all of their history; an ordinary residential U.S. line used by one household has the profile of a home, because it is one. An advantage, not a guarantee — Peacock can block any address, ours included, at any time.
The practical Spanish rule: if something fails, ask what account you are signed into before you ask what address you are on. Nine times in ten on a Spanish fibre line, that is where the answer is.
Order matters more than any single setting. Most reports that look like a blocked address turn out to be a cookie written by a page opened a moment too early.

iCloud Private Relay routes Safari through Apple's own network and straight past the connection you just established, so a Mac can fail while everything is correct. Turn it off before testing. On a Spanish household Mac it is also worth noting which iCloud account is signed in, because that is the same account deciding what the App Store will show you later.

This is the Spanish specific: there is no Peacock app to download on a Spanish Apple Account, so the network configuration is irrelevant until the store question is settled. Changing Apple Account country affects subscriptions, store credit, rentals and family sharing — including any SkyShowtime subscription billed through Apple — and it outlasts this experiment. Decide it deliberately.

Google Play serves apps by account country with the same consequence as Apple's. Separately, exempt the VPN client from battery optimisation — Android kills background connections aggressively and a tunnel dropped mid-episode is indistinguishable from a block. Carrier-customised Android builds sold by Movistar and Orange are often more aggressive about this than stock.

A Movistar decoder, Fire TV, Roku, Apple TV, Chromecast or PlayStation cannot run the connection itself, so it lives on the router — which moves the whole house at once. Before any of that, confirm the TV is not simply showing you SkyShowtime: with shared titles on both services, that mistake survives a surprising amount of troubleshooting.
If a browser on the same network plays an episode and a TV app does not, the network is not the problem — store region or cached app data is, and reconnecting will not touch either of them.

The Spanish-specific step, and the one that saves the most time. Two services carrying overlapping catalogues, signed in at once, produce failures that look like geography and are not. A second browser profile is cleaner than a private window if you expect to do this more than once.
Spanish households frequently have the SkyShowtime app on the TV and the Peacock app nowhere, because the Peacock app is not in the Spanish store. If a TV 'fails to load Peacock', check it is not quietly showing you SkyShowtime's catalogue instead — they share titles, which makes this easier to miss than it sounds.
Peacock writes its location verdict into a cookie. A page opened a second early poisons every attempt after it until the cookie is cleared — which, on a machine where you have just cleaned up two services' sessions, is a frustrating way to lose the progress you made.
On Spanish fibre this is rarely the answer. If an episode plays but softens and sharpens after everything above is clean, that is ordinary bitrate adaptation — prefer 5GHz or a cable, and stop looking at location.
Spanish readers arrive at this page from two quite different places, and the terms below read differently depending on which you are. An American living in Spain, or someone on a US family plan, is re-reaching an account that already exists and is already paid for. Section 1.1 of the Terms of Use: “You may not access or use the Peacock Service if you are outside of the United States (including its territories and possessions) or are barred from receiving the Peacock Service under these Terms of Service or applicable law.” That is Peacock's own sentence rather than our summary of it, and it is the most important line on this page.
Yes — §5.1: “You may not provide fictitious information or conceal your identity or location, including in an attempt to circumvent limits associated with Promotions or geographic Content restrictions.” Go in clear-eyed, then. Peacock may block an address, or an account, at any point. USip sells a residential U.S. IP connection, not a guarantee about Peacock's response to it, and a provider promising you one is overselling. Decide with that sentence in front of you.
