How to Watch Showtime Outside the US
Short answer: the separate Showtime app closed in 2024, and there is no Showtime service to join on its own, in the U.S. or anywhere else. SHOWTIME Help says “The SHOWTIME streaming service is being discontinued”, and it says where the programmes went: “SHOWTIME programming is now available through Paramount+”. In the U.S. that means two plans. Paramount+ Essential lists “Access SHOWTIME® Originals”; Paramount+ Premium is the one Paramount+ describes as carrying “all of SHOWTIME®”.
Outside the U.S., the answer depends on the country. Paramount+ runs local services in 27 other countries on its “Paramount+ Regions” page, each with a catalogue chosen for that market. Elsewhere, some Showtime-made series reach viewers under other names — SkyShowtime in 22 European markets, yes in Israel, beIN under a 2024 deal in the Middle East — and in some places, Singapore among them, we found no local home at all.
A residential US IP from USip gives a laptop, phone or TV an ordinary U.S. household address. That is the part an address can change: what paramountplus.com sees. It is not a Paramount+ account, not a plan and not permission — Paramount+ decides which connections it accepts and can refuse any of them, USip’s included. The first check takes about ten minutes, on a laptop, with the Paramount+ account you already use.

What Showtime is in October 2026
Most of what is written about Showtime online describes something that has gone. These are the changes that matter for anyone abroad, each with its source.

The thread through all six: Showtime is still a brand and a library of programmes, but it is no longer a service you can join on its own. Every practical question about watching Showtime from abroad has become a question about Paramount+ — which plan, which country’s service, and which connection.
Dexter: Resurrection shows how that works now. Paramount’s press site gives Friday 30 October 2026 for the second season in the U.S., “only on the Premium Plan”. Outside the U.S. the same season reaches some countries through local services on their own dates, which our country guides give where we could confirm them.
Watch out for the old names. A forum post, an app listing or a video that talks about a separate Showtime app is describing the service that closed on 30 April 2024. USip’s own videos on this page date from September 2021, and each one is labelled that way.

Paramount+ sells two plans in the U.S., and they do not carry the same amount of Showtime. Everything below was read on paramountplus.com, the U.S. site, on 9 October 2026.

The old name
“Paramount+ with Showtime” is now the cable channel
Until 23 June 2025 that was the name of the Premium plan. Today it belongs to the Showtime channel on U.S. cable and satellite TV, a separate product from the streaming plans.
Two practical consequences. A U.S. connection does not change which plan an account is on, so an episode that stops short on Essential is a plan question, not a network one. And because the plans are Paramount+’s, so is their content: Paramount+ moves titles between plans on its own schedule, and its site is the authority on what each one holds on a given day.

28 regions, and everywhere else
Where Paramount+ runs, and where Showtime series turn up instead
Paramount+ is not one worldwide service. Its “Paramount+ Regions” page lists the countries it serves, and outside them Showtime-made series reach viewers, if at all, through other companies.
The regions page, read on 9 October 2026, names 28 countries: Australia; Austria, France, Germany, Italy, the Republic of Ireland, Switzerland and the United Kingdom; Canada, Mexico and the United States; and seventeen countries in Latin America, from Argentina to Venezuela. Each local Paramount+ has a catalogue chosen for its own market, so a Showtime series on the U.S. service may or may not be on, say, the British one.
Apple’s App Store tells the same story. On 9 October 2026 the U.S. Paramount+ app (id530168168) was listed in the U.S. store only, and the international Paramount+ app (id1340650234) in the UK, Ireland and Australia among the stores we checked. Neither was listed in Singapore, Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands, Sweden, Israel, Qatar or Belgium — the eight countries our guides cover.

SkyShowtime’s future is under review. On 14 September 2026 its board wrote that the shareholders were “commencing a review of strategic options for the business, which includes the possibility of a wind down”, and that “no decisions have been made” (The Desk, 14 September 2026). We report that much and make no forecast.
Local catalogues change with licences. If a service you already use carries the Showtime series you want, that is the simplest way to watch it, and it needs nothing from USip.

What a residential US IP changes for Showtime, and what it cannot
Every connection reaches paramountplus.com from a public address, and that address is the first thing a streaming service reads. Here is how the usual options compare.

Start where you can see everything: a laptop browser shows the address and Paramount+’s answer with no app store in between. Each step rules one thing in or out, so if something fails you know where.
Switch on USip, then look at two lines
Install OpenVPN Connect using the Windows guide or the Mac guide and connect. Any IP address checker will then show two lines worth reading: IPv4, which has to read United States, and IPv6, if present, which must not show the company that supplies your home or mobile line. Paramount+ reads the same lines the checker does.
Load paramountplus.com with no history
Use a private or incognito window, so no cookie from an earlier visit tells Paramount+ where you were last time. Log in with your existing Paramount+ details. Nothing in this check involves creating an account.
Give one Showtime episode sixty seconds
Go to the Showtime section and pick any episode; Paramount+’s Showtime page lists Dexter: Resurrection, for instance. Leave it playing for a minute. Glance at the account’s plan too, since Premium is the one with “all of SHOWTIME®” and Essential warns that “Series may not include all episodes”.
Take the answer as given
Sixty seconds of playback means the network side worked, on this laptop, today. A notice about location, a VPN or a proxy means it did not: copy the notice exactly, disconnect and reconnect USip, and make one more attempt. Should the same notice return, pass its wording to USip support rather than trying again and again.

Paramount+ decides which connections it accepts and can change its view of any address, so a good result is today’s answer, not a permanent one.

Computers and phones use the OpenVPN Connect app; televisions use Smart DNS. USip filmed the four videos below in September 2021, back when Showtime had an app and a website of its own. Trust them for the USip side of the setup, and read the note next to each one for the part that has changed since.

Use your own computer, not one that runs an employer’s VPN, because two tunnels at the same moment make any result impossible to read.

macOS
macOS: two settings before you start
iCloud Private Relay changes how Safari connects, so switch it off for the check or use another browser. IPv6 is the other setting to watch: if your line offers it, read the IPv6 line on the address checker before you press play.
Like the others, the Mac video finishes on the closed Showtime service; today the same connection leads to paramountplus.com.

Android
Android: skip the video’s Play Store step
This video switches the Play Store’s country in order to install the old Showtime app, and neither part works today. The app shut on 30 April 2024. Google’s rule, in its own help pages, is that “To set up a new country or region, you must be in that location”, and that you “must wait at least 90 days” between changes.
On the phone, use Chrome: OpenVPN Connect on, address checked, then paramountplus.com. Tell Android not to put OpenVPN Connect to sleep to save battery; a tunnel that drops halfway looks just like a refusal.

iPhone and iPad
iPhone and iPad: Safari first, Apple’s conditions second
The iPhone video ends inside the old Showtime app, which shut down on 30 April 2024, and it changes the App Store country along the way. Apple publishes its own conditions for moving an Apple Account between countries or regions, and they reach well beyond one app; read them before copying that step.
For the check itself, Safari is enough: OpenVPN Connect switched on, iCloud Private Relay switched off.

There is no OpenVPN Connect for televisions, sticks or games consoles, which is why they get Smart DNS instead. It works in three moves: USip records your home’s public IP address, the DNS details go into the device (or once into the router, for the whole home), and a changed home address has to be registered again.

Clocks change on different Sundays. Europe and Israel go back on 25 October 2026 and the U.S. on 1 November, so for that week the European and Israeli gaps are an hour shorter: 8 p.m. in New York is 1 a.m. in Oslo and 2 a.m. in Jerusalem. In spring the U.S. moves first, on 14 March 2027; Europe follows on 28 March and Israel on Friday 26 March, so the gaps shrink by an hour for those weeks too. Singapore and Qatar do not change their clocks at all.
Season two of Dexter: Resurrection is a timely example. Paramount gives Friday 30 October 2026 for the U.S.; the local reports our country guides cite list Saturday 31 October for SkyShowtime in Sweden and the Netherlands, and for yes in Israel.
On-demand has no clock
A Showtime episode already in the library starts when you press play. Time zones matter for the release moment, not for the watching.
Live CBS keeps U.S. hours
Premium also lists live CBS, and live means a U.S. schedule: an 8 p.m. programme in New York is the middle of the night in Europe.
Mark 25 October to 1 November 2026
Between those two Sundays, Europe and Israel sit an hour closer to the U.S. than usual.
Mark 14 to 28 March 2027
The U.S. springs forward first, so for two weeks the European gap is an hour shorter again; in Israel, until 26 March.
Singapore and Doha stay put
Neither changes its clocks, so only the American dates move the gap there.

Turn USip on first and paramountplus.com second. Switching mid-episode shows Paramount+ two different addresses in one session.

When something goes wrong
Six common Showtime problems abroad, and what each one means
Change one thing at a time. Each problem below points to one layer: the address, the browser, the plan, the store or the device.
A message about location, a VPN or a proxy
Paramount+ has declined the connection. Write the wording down exactly, reconnect USip once and try once more in a fresh private window. If it returns, send the wording to USip support; ten retries will not change the answer.
The checker says United States, Paramount+ sees your country
Usually IPv6: many lines carry a second, newer address beside the IPv4 one. If the IPv6 line names your local provider, deal with that first, then read both lines again.
It played yesterday, not today
Old cookies and remembered locations carry over. Close every Paramount+ tab, open a fresh private window and sign in again before changing anything else.
A Showtime season stops short
Look at the plan before the connection. Essential’s Showtime titles come with the note “Series may not include all episodes”; Premium is the plan described with “all of SHOWTIME®”.
The app is missing from your store
App stores follow the country of your Apple or Google account, not your connection. On 9 October 2026 neither Paramount+ app was in the App Store of any of our eight countries, so use the browser first.
The television stopped working
Smart DNS is registered to your home’s public IP address. If your provider has changed it, register the new one with USip, then restart the television or stick.

Each guide starts from that country’s own services, clocks, networks and rules. None of the eight is on Paramount+’s regions page, and on 9 October 2026 none of their App Stores listed either Paramount+ app.
Singapore

No Paramount+ and no local Showtime home we could confirm on mewatch, StarHub, Singtel or Prime Video. Singapore’s clock never changes, so only American dates move the gap; GovTech’s own wording on VPN use is quoted.

Showtime outside the US — FAQ
Answered from Paramount’s and SHOWTIME Help’s own pages and from dated reports. Where the honest answer depends on something we do not control, we say so.
Can I watch Showtime outside the US?
Showtime has had no service of its own since 30 April 2024; its programmes stream inside Paramount+. Paramount+ runs local services in 27 countries outside the U.S., each with its own catalogue, and in other countries there is no Paramount+ at all. For the U.S. catalogue, a residential U.S. IP changes the address Paramount+ sees, but Paramount+ decides whether to accept the connection and can refuse any, USip’s included.
Is there still a Showtime app, or did it close?
No. SHOWTIME Help announced that “The SHOWTIME streaming service is being discontinued”, and standalone subscribers kept access “until they are discontinued on April 30, 2024”. Since then, in the same page’s words, “SHOWTIME programming is now available through Paramount+”. Videos and articles that show a separate Showtime app, USip’s own from September 2021 among them, describe the closed service; today the Showtime section is part of paramountplus.com and the Paramount+ app.
Which Paramount+ plan has Showtime?
Both have some, and one has all of it. Paramount+ describes Paramount+ Premium as the plan with “all of SHOWTIME®” ad free, alongside live CBS and downloads. Paramount+ Essential lists “Access SHOWTIME® Originals”, with the footnote “Series may not include all episodes”. Premium was called Paramount+ with Showtime until it was renamed on 23 June 2025. A residential U.S. IP has no effect on which plan an account is on.
Is SkyShowtime the same as Showtime?
No. SkyShowtime is a joint service of Comcast and Paramount in 22 European markets, the Netherlands and the Nordic countries among them. It carries some Showtime-made series, chosen market by market, alongside other studios’ programmes. On 14 September 2026 its board said the shareholders were reviewing the business, including “the possibility of a wind down”; no decision had been announced when we checked on 9 October 2026.
Is Paramount+ available in my country?
Look at its “Paramount+ Regions” page. On 9 October 2026 it listed 28 countries: Australia; Austria, France, Germany, Italy, the Republic of Ireland, Switzerland and the United Kingdom; Canada, Mexico and the U.S.; and seventeen in Latin America. Singapore, Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands, Sweden, Israel, Qatar and Belgium were not on it, and their App Stores listed neither Paramount+ app.
Does USip include a Paramount+ subscription?
No. USip and Paramount+ are separate services. USip supplies one residential U.S. IP address, an ordinary consumer address on a U.S. internet provider, with OpenVPN Connect profiles or Smart DNS details to use it. The Paramount+ account, its plan and the rights to every Showtime series belong to Paramount+, which also decides which connections it accepts.
What does a residential US IP change for Showtime?
The address paramountplus.com reads: an ordinary U.S. household connection instead of one in your own country, the same on every visit. It does not change your Paramount+ plan, the country of your Apple or Google account, what local services license, or Paramount+’s decision about the connection, which can be no.
Can I watch Showtime on my TV outside the US?
Possibly, but make it the last step. A television, stick or console cannot run OpenVPN Connect, so USip uses Smart DNS: you register your home’s public IP address with USip and enter the DNS details on the device or once on the router. Why do some Showtime episodes not show up?
Check the plan first. Essential’s Showtime titles carry Paramount+’s footnote “Series may not include all episodes”, while Premium is described with “all of SHOWTIME®”. Catalogues also change as licences start and end. If nothing plays at all, it is a connection question; if one season is short, it is usually a plan question.
When does season two of Dexter: Resurrection start?
Paramount’s press site gives Friday 30 October 2026 for the U.S., “only on the Premium Plan”. Local services set their own dates: the reports our country guides cite list Saturday 31 October for SkyShowtime in Sweden and the Netherlands, and for yes in Israel. Paramount has not published release hours for other countries.
What does the Skydance merger mean for Showtime?
Nothing yet. Paramount completed its takeover of Warner Bros. Discovery on 6 October 2026, and the combined company, Skydance, owns Paramount+, HBO Max and the Showtime channel. Skydance has said its streaming products will “unify into a single service over time”, without a timetable. Until something is announced, Showtime’s programmes stay in Paramount+, and we will not guess at dates.
Is it legal to use a VPN outside the US?
That depends on the country, and each of our country guides says what we found and where our knowledge stops. Singapore’s GovTech, for example, calls VPN use generally legal for personal use, while in Qatar we found no official statement either way on private use. We are not lawyers. Separately, Paramount+ decides which connections it accepts.
Paramount+ shows a message about my location, a VPN or a proxy. What now?
Treat it as Paramount+’s answer and keep a copy — the exact words or a screenshot. Then rule out the two usual local causes: an IPv6 line still showing your own provider, and old cookies. Reconnect USip, open a new private window and try one last time. If the notice is unchanged, its wording is what USip support needs from you.

Look locally first, then run one ten-minute check
Start with what your country already has. If a local service carries the Showtime series you want — SkyShowtime, yes, your local Paramount+ — that is the simplest route, with no address question at all.
For the U.S. catalogue, set aside ten minutes and a laptop. Switch on USip, confirm the address on both lines, sign in to Paramount+ in a private window and let a Showtime episode run for a minute. A refusal comes with words; keep them, make one more attempt, then hand them to USip support.
