Tubi in Cyprus: Samsung TV Setup and a Recorded Smart DNS Test

Can you watch Tubi in Cyprus?

Cyprus is absent from Tubi’s supported markets outside the United States, checked on 21 October 2026. There is no Cyprus market listed in that guidance. An installed Tubi app, a visible programme page and successful playback are nevertheless three different things.

Tubi ties catalogue availability to regional licences. A programme may be missing or unavailable because of its rights, while an app can also fail for device or connection reasons. Our recorded Cyprus result gives a concrete starting point for checking one TV route; it does not establish a local launch or guaranteed ongoing access.

This is an earlier archived result. It records actual on-demand playback, not just a successful app launch. We have not changed its date to match the guide update, and we have not retested it for publication.

The record does not establish a complete episode, every Samsung model, live channels, casting or Greek-language tracks. It also does not prove that the same app is available in every Cyprus television’s store.

Check the Tubi app before changing the connection

First, look for Tubi in your Samsung TV’s app store. Tubi lists Samsung among its supported TV platforms, but platform support does not mean every model and store region offers the app.

If Tubi is already installed, check for an update and open it before setting up the connection. If it is missing, note the TV model and the store or account region and ask Support about your options. Smart DNS does not install applications or change a store account’s country.

A working phone app is not proof that the Samsung app will work. Likewise, changing network settings should not be treated as an instruction to reset Smart Hub or alter account details. Establish the available viewing app first, then test its connection.

Set up the Samsung TV route

Use the current USip Smart DNS setup guide for the settings assigned to your account. Confirm Smart DNS access with Support before selecting a plan for television use.

  1. Record the current TV network settings. Keep what you need to restore the previous working configuration.
  2. Register the TV’s home connection. Follow the guide using a phone or computer on the same home network. Turn off its VPN while registering that connection.
  3. Find the Samsung manual DNS setting. The menu location varies by model. Use the Samsung section of the guide, rather than copying settings from another device.
  4. Enter the account’s current USip DNS settings. Leave unrelated network settings as they are. Device-level setup avoids changing every device in the home.
  5. Allow the setup time specified in the guide. Reopen Tubi after reconnecting or restarting the TV if necessary.
  6. Play the intended episode. Check picture, sound and continued playback; a catalogue screen is not the finished test.

If the home connection changes, its registration may need updating. Keep the setup guide available while testing so you can verify the current instructions or undo the change.

05

Why the TV can still show a Cyprus IP

Smart DNS does not create the same connection as a VPN and does not provide VPN encryption. An IP-checking page can still show Cyprus. That observation alone does not mean the TV setup failed: check its configuration, connection registration and actual video playback.

You do not need OpenVPN Connect on the Samsung TV for the documented Smart DNS route. Conversely, connecting a VPN on your phone does not establish that the TV uses it. These are different devices and connection methods.

For an Android phone or tablet, use the Android VPN setup guide. Our Greece Tubi guide has a separate Android result; it is not a Cyprus Android test.

When Tubi will not play on the TV

ProblemWhat to check
Tubi is missingApp-store availability and supported TV model. DNS cannot supply an absent app.
It worked before, then stoppedCurrent connection registration and saved DNS settings, followed by the exact Tubi error.
One programme failsAnother on-demand title, to separate a title-specific problem from a wider playback failure.
Every video fails or the TV loses internetNormal internet access, app updates and the setup guide. Restore the previous DNS setting if necessary.

Tubi’s error guidance also identifies device and content-protection limitations. More network changes will not necessarily fix those. Send Support the title, error, device category and whether playback ever began. Keep account passwords out of screenshots.

07

What is free, and what would you pay for?

Tubi is free and does not require a payment card. There is no paid Tubi plan or US billing workaround to arrange for its free service. Advertising supports the catalogue; free does not mean every title is available in every region.

USip is separate. Its advertised three-day VPN trial requires a payment method and renews as a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial ends. For this Samsung TV route, confirm Smart DNS access and the applicable terms first. Review current plans and ask about TV access.

Decide after checking the programme you want on your actual television. Confirm the episode and language options as well as playback. If a service already available to you in Cyprus carries that exact season, compare that option before paying for an additional connection.

Questions, answered

Does Tubi need a US credit card on a Samsung TV?

No payment card is required by Tubi’s free service. Your TV platform may have its own account requirements. USip connection access and billing are separate from Tubi.

Was the Samsung TV check performed in October?

No. It was performed in Cyprus on 1 September 2026 and recorded 14 minutes of Hell’s Kitchen S1E1 through USip Smart DNS. This guide preserves that earlier test date.

Should an IP checker show the United States with Smart DNS?

Not necessarily. Smart DNS can leave your usual public-IP country visible. Check the registered connection, device settings and playback instead.

Does the Cyprus test confirm Greek subtitles or live sports?

No. The recorded result concerns an on-demand episode. Check language options, live channels and event availability separately on your own setup.
