Neither Paramount+ nor SkyShowtime operates in Belgium

How to Watch Showtime in Belgium

Short answer: Showtime is no longer a service of its own. In SHOWTIME Help’s own words, “SHOWTIME programming is now available through Paramount+” — and Paramount+ does not run in Belgium: its “Paramount+ Regions” page names France, Germany and the UK among others, but not Belgium (read 9 October 2026). Neither Paramount+ app was in the Belgian App Store that day.

Belgium also falls outside SkyShowtime, the Comcast and Paramount service that carries Dexter: Resurrection in its markets, the Netherlands among them: SkyShowtime’s own list of 22 markets leaves Belgium out. Streamz announced a Paramount+ branded area for Flanders in November 2023; the reports we read did not mention Showtime, and we could not confirm what the area holds now. On the French-speaking side, our searches found no first-party page naming a Showtime-made series.

So the U.S. Showtime catalogue means Paramount+ in the U.S. A first check needs about ten minutes and four things: a laptop browser, USip’s residential U.S. IP, paramountplus.com and a single episode. Paramount+ alone decides whether to accept that connection, and it may refuse any connection, USip’s too.

Where Showtime-made series stand in Belgium, October 2026

We looked for Showtime-made series on Belgian services in Dutch and in French, starting with the services’ own pages. The result is thin: Paramount brands are easy to find on Belgian television, but very little turns up under the Showtime name.

Service or brandIn Belgium, as far as we could confirmNext to the U.S. Showtime on Paramount+
Streamz, FlandersWorld Screen reported on 2 November 2023 that a Paramount+ branded area would open on Streamz, and Streamz’s chief executive said Flemish viewers would get it from that December. That report did not mention Showtime, and we could not confirm from Streamz’s own pages whether the area still exists in October 2026.A local selection, if it is still there. In the U.S., Paramount+ describes its Premium plan as carrying “all of SHOWTIME®”.
SkyShowtimeNot offered in Belgium. SkyShowtime’s release of 17 June 2025 lists its 22 markets, from Albania to Sweden; the Netherlands is one of them, Belgium is not.Where it does operate, SkyShowtime carries Dexter: Resurrection, which it announced for 12 September 2025.
RTL Play, RTBF Auvio, Proximus Pickx, VOO and Be tvOur searches on 9 October 2026 found no first-party page from these services naming a Showtime-made series. That is a gap in what we could find, not proof that none is there.“Dexter®: Resurrection” appears on Paramount+’s Showtime brand page.
MTV, Comedy Central, NickelodeonParamount channels on Belgian television. When we read BASE’s channel list on 6 October 2026, the Telenet brand listed all three among its Dutch-language channels and Nickelodeon among its French-language ones.Related Paramount brands with Belgian schedules of their own, not part of Showtime.
Paramount+ itselfNot available: Belgium is missing from the regions list, though France and Germany are on it, and neither Paramount+ app was in the Belgian App Store on 9 October 2026.The home of the U.S. Showtime catalogue since Showtime’s own app shut on 30 April 2024.

That leaves a Belgian viewer with three open questions rather than one answer. Does Streamz still have its Paramount+ area, and is any of it from Showtime? Is there a French-language home for Showtime-made series that our searches missed? And what does the U.S. catalogue hold? Only the last has a firm answer here: by Paramount+’s own description, all of Showtime sits in Paramount+ Premium, a plan for the U.S.

Living near the Dutch border does not change the picture. SkyShowtime’s Dutch service is for the Netherlands, and SkyShowtime’s own list does not include Belgium as a market.

Catalogues and channel line-ups change. Streamz, the French-language services and Paramount+ all add and remove series as their licences allow, so check the service’s own page on the day you want to watch. If a Belgian service turns out to carry the Showtime series you are after, that is the simpler way to watch, and it needs nothing from USip.

What Showtime is in October 2026

Closed as an app, renamed as a plan, owned by Skydance

Three changes since 2024 explain why there is no Showtime app to download in Belgium, or anywhere else.

Since 30 April 2024

A Paramount+ section, not an app

In SHOWTIME Help’s words, “The SHOWTIME streaming service is being discontinued”; direct subscribers could keep watching “until they are discontinued on April 30, 2024”. The series now live on Paramount+, which keeps a Showtime page listing titles such as “Dexter®: Resurrection”.

Since 23 June 2025

Premium is the full Showtime plan

TheWrap reported that the plan called Paramount+ with Showtime was renamed Paramount+ Premium; the U.S. cable channel keeps the old name. Premium: “Watch hit originals, movies and all of SHOWTIME® ad free”. Essential: “Access SHOWTIME® Originals”, footnoted “Series may not include all episodes”.

Since 6 October 2026

Skydance owns the lot

On 6 October 2026 Paramount closed its Warner Bros. Discovery deal, and the merged group took the name Skydance (Forbes). Paramount+, HBO Max, Pluto TV and the Showtime channel now share one owner. As for one combined streaming service, no date has been announced, and we will not invent one.

For Belgium the upshot is short. There is nothing to install under the Showtime name, no Belgian Paramount+ to join and no Showtime account separate from Paramount+. Premium also lists live CBS and downloads, but those are features of a U.S. plan, not of anything offered in Belgium.

For Paramount+ in general, see USip’s Paramount+ guide; this page keeps to Showtime and to what is particular about Belgium.

Brussels keeps Central European Time

From Brussels to New York and Los Angeles, October 2026 to April 2027

Showtime’s on-demand episodes keep no timetable, so the gap matters mainly for live CBS, which Premium lists, and for anything announced for a U.S. hour. Most of the year, Brussels runs six hours later than New York and nine later than Los Angeles.

U.S. timeBrussels, usual six-hour gapBrussels, during the short weeks
11 a.m. Eastern5 p.m.4 p.m.
1 p.m. Eastern, 10 a.m. Pacific7 p.m.6 p.m.
7 p.m. Eastern, 4 p.m. Pacific1 a.m.Midnight
9 p.m. Eastern, 6 p.m. Pacific3 a.m.2 a.m.
Midnight in New York, 9 p.m. in Los Angeles6 a.m.5 a.m.
10 p.m. Pacific7 a.m.6 a.m.

The short weeks come twice in the months ahead. Belgian clocks fall back an hour on Sunday 25 October 2026 and the U.S. waits until Sunday 1 November, so for that week the gaps are five and eight hours. In spring the order flips: American clocks go forward on 14 March 2027 and Belgian ones on 28 March, which makes a second short spell, this time of two weeks.

During a Belgian evening, what is live in the U.S. is daytime television. At 8 p.m. in Liège, New York is at 2 p.m., and East Coast prime time begins in the small hours. If you only stream Showtime episodes on demand, none of this matters: an episode on Paramount+ plays at whatever hour you choose.

Belgian broadband and mobile

What a Belgian connection shows Paramount+

However you connect in Belgium, your router or phone gets a public address that places it in the country. The provider sets your speed and supplies the box; the country a website sees comes with the address.

ConnectionWho runs it (BIPT, figures for 2025)The address Paramount+ gets
Cable, copper or fibre at homeThree groups, Proximus, Telenet and Orange Belgium, second brands included, account for 98% of fixed broadband by volume; Proximus alone sits in the 40–50% bandA Belgian IPv4 address, plus a Belgian IPv6 one if the line provides it
Fibre in particular13.9% of the fixed broadband lines in use in 2025, with coverage reaching 35.7% of households by January 2026Still Belgian: fibre changes the speed, not the location
Mobile, 4G and 5GThe incumbents again, counting Scarlet, Mobile Vikings, VOO and BASE among their brands, with roughly 93.7% of mobile; independent operators share the remaining 6.3%Belgian, on the phone and on any laptop using it as a hotspot
DIGIIn the market since December 2024; BIPT places its mobile share between 0 and 5%Belgian like the rest
Wi-Fi at the office, on campus or in a hotelWhoever runs the networkBelgian, and some such networks filter out tunnel software

IPv6 is the detail that catches people out. If the laptop keeps an IPv6 address from your provider while the U.S. connection is up, some traffic may still leave through your Belgian line. Reading both lines of an address checker, step one of the check below, settles it in seconds.

The regulator’s 2025 count was 5.25 million fixed broadband lines and 11.59 million active data SIMs, machine-to-machine links excluded, each moving 11.1 GB a month on average. Streaming over home Wi-Fi keeps a long evening of episodes off your mobile allowance.

Source: BIPT, the Belgian telecoms regulator, in its Council’s market report dated 10 July 2026, covering 2025, which we read on 6 October 2026. BIPT gives operator shares as ranges, and we repeat them as ranges.

Four kinds of U.S. address

From a Belgian line, a VPN app, a data centre or a U.S. home

Making an address checker show “United States” takes no skill at all. What differs between the tools is the kind of address Paramount+ ends up seeing, and that difference is worth understanding before you pick one.

RouteParamount+ seesFair useBear in mind
Your Belgian lineAn address from Proximus, Telenet, Orange, VOO or DIGIEvery Belgian service, from VRT MAX to RTL PlayParamount+ does not operate in Belgium
Free VPN appAn address on a server that many users share simultaneouslyVery little that you can measureWhat Paramount+ does with it is up to Paramount+
Data-centre VPNSpace rented in a commercial data centre, not a household linePrivacy on café or hotel Wi-FiGeolocation may say U.S.; the address still belongs to a data centre
USip residential U.S. IPAn ordinary consumer address on a U.S. internet providerOne clear check on paramountplus.comParamount+ may still refuse it

What USip’s household address alters

  • The public address Paramount+ receives, now a U.S. household connection instead of a Belgian one
  • What a refusal tells you: once the address is American, a location message concerns the connection itself rather than Belgium
  • How televisions join in: Smart DNS for sets and sticks, the OpenVPN Connect app for laptops and phones

If one episode runs smoothly in a new private window, the address is doing its job for now.

What stays the same

  • Paramount+’s right to accept or refuse any connection, USip’s included
  • How much of Showtime your Paramount+ plan opens
  • Whether your Apple Account or Google account says Belgium
  • What Belgian law says, and what your employer’s or university’s network allows

Switching servers does not touch any of these, so leave the connection alone once the address is right.

Four steps on a laptop

Checking Showtime on Paramount+ from Belgium

Start on a laptop: you can keep the address checker in one window and Paramount+ in another. Phones and televisions wait until the laptop has given a clear answer.

1

Switch USip on and look at IPv4 and IPv6

On a Windows or Mac laptop, start OpenVPN Connect with your USip profile and visit an address checker. The IPv4 result should be American. An IPv6 result, if one appears, should not belong to a Belgian operator, whether Proximus, Telenet, Orange, VOO, DIGI or another. When it does, some of your traffic is still going out through Belgium.

2

Sign in at paramountplus.com in private mode

Quit the browser and reopen it in private mode. At paramountplus.com, log in to the Paramount+ account you normally use. Private mode begins with an empty cookie jar, so leftovers from browsing on your Belgian address cannot muddle the answer.

3

Open the Showtime section and give one episode a minute

Pick any episode in the SHOWTIME section and let it play for a full minute. Note which plan the account shows: Premium is the one Paramount+ describes with “all of SHOWTIME®”; on Essential, “Series may not include all episodes”.

4

Note the result, and stop after one more try

If the episode keeps playing, Paramount+ accepted the connection on this occasion. If a message mentions your location, a VPN or a proxy, write it down word for word, reconnect USip once and try a single time more. Should the message return, send the exact wording to USip support; a third or tenth attempt would show nothing the second did not.

Paramount+ can refuse any connection, USip’s included, so treat a playing episode as that day’s result, not a promise. A dated record of USip’s own checks is on a separate page, USip’s published checks; this guide does not summarise it.

Laptop first, phone second, television last

Showtime in a Belgian home, one device at a time

USip recorded the four videos in September 2021, when Showtime still ran its own app and website. Their USip connection steps still apply; the destination has moved. Today it is Paramount+, the website or its app where one is available to you, that opens Showtime’s series.

Windows
Windows

Windows: start in the browser

Windows needs no app store for this. Start the USip connection in OpenVPN Connect, confirm the address, and only then load paramountplus.com in a private window. The 2021 video opens the old Showtime service, which no longer exists; Paramount+’s Showtime section has taken its place.

Leave the work laptop out of it: an employer’s VPN plus USip makes two tunnels, and then no result can be trusted.

Step by step: the Windows setup guide.

macOS
macOS

macOS: one Safari setting, one address line

On a Mac, the connection steps from the video are still the right ones. Safari adds one complication: with iCloud Private Relay switched on, Apple sends Safari’s traffic through relays of its own, so switch Private Relay off until the check is done.

Then compare the IPv6 line of the address checker with the IPv4 one. A Belgian operator on either means the check is not yet valid, whatever Paramount+ shows.

Step by step: the Mac setup guide.

Android
Android

Android: leave the Play Store step out

In the 2021 Android video, the Play Store country is altered to get at the old Showtime app. That route is closed twice over: the app is gone, and Google’s help page now states “To set up a new country or region, you must be in that location”, adding that once a country is set you “must wait at least 90 days” before switching again.

Keep the OpenVPN Connect steps, exempt the app from battery optimisation, and try paramountplus.com in the phone’s browser first. We had no means of looking at Google Play’s Belgian listings, so we do not say whether Paramount+ is there.

Step by step: the Android setup guide.

iPhone and iPad
iPhone and iPad

iPhone and iPad: Apple’s conditions come first

The iPhone video was made for the Showtime app, which closed on 30 April 2024, and Apple’s App Store settings have changed since. Before you move an Apple Account anywhere, read Apple’s page on changing your country or region, listed in the sources: it sets conditions that must be met first, and the change covers the whole account.

Neither Paramount+ app was in the Belgian App Store on 9 October 2026. The USip steps in the video still apply; Safari and paramountplus.com are the place to begin.

Step by step: the iOS setup guide.

Televisions, sticks and consoles get Smart DNS instead of an app, because OpenVPN Connect will not run on them. Three things to do, in order: give USip the public IP address your home currently has; enter USip’s DNS servers on the television itself, or a single time on the router so that every device at home uses them; and if your provider later assigns your home a new public IP, give USip that one too.

The 2021 videos show the old Showtime app. On a television today you would look for Paramount+, and we have not checked whether the Belgian Samsung, LG or operator-box stores offer it.

App stores follow your account

Paramount+ and the Belgian app stores

An app store shows what is offered in your account’s home country, as Apple or Google records it, and ignores where your connection appears to be. On 9 October 2026 this is what we could establish for Belgium.

1

Belgian App Store: no Paramount+

Neither the U.S. Paramount+ app (id530168168) nor the international one (id1340650234) was listed. The U.S. app appeared only in the U.S. store, the international one in the UK, Ireland and Australia.

2

Google Play: not checked

Google Play’s Belgian listings were beyond what we could check, so this page takes no position on them either way.

3

Google’s rule for switching

Google’s help page ties the Play country to where you physically are, and sets a gap of at least 90 days between switches.

4

Apple’s rule for switching

Apple’s own page lists what must happen before an Apple Account changes country, and the change applies to everything on that account.

5

The browser needs neither

A browser on a laptop sidesteps both stores, so whatever happens there reflects the connection alone.

6

TV and operator boxes

We have not checked whether Samsung, LG, Proximus or Telenet stores offer Paramount+ in Belgium. Set a television up last, through Smart DNS.

Switching an account’s country to get one app is a big step of its own, with Apple’s and Google’s conditions attached. Make it later, if at all, and only after a laptop browser has given you a clear answer.

Belgian law, carefully

Using VPN software in Belgium: what we could find

Is a VPN allowed in Belgium? Here is the limit of our answer: we have not found a Belgian law that bans VPN software as such. Read it as general information; we are not lawyers.

The clearest official signal points the other way. The Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium runs Safeonweb, its advice site for the public, and in a piece on holiday Wi-Fi it says simply: “Install a Virtual Private Network (VPN).” The context is safety on unfamiliar networks; the piece says nothing about streaming or about any particular service.

How copyright, a contract or your employer’s network rules apply to you is beyond a streaming guide; for that, talk to a qualified Belgian adviser.

One more point belongs here, because it is not about the law at all. Paramount+ decides for itself which connections it accepts, and it can refuse any connection, USip’s included. USip alters which address Paramount+ sees, and nothing more; the decision stays with Paramount+.

We read Safeonweb’s holiday Wi-Fi advice on 9 October 2026; the page carries no date and names cert.be as its source. We did not search the Belgian Official Journal itself, so “not found” means exactly that.

Questions from Belgium

Showtime in Belgium — FAQ

Answered from Paramount’s and SkyShowtime’s own pages, BIPT’s figures, Safeonweb and the 2023 Streamz announcement. Where something could not be confirmed, we say that in the answer.

Is Showtime available in Belgium?

Not as its own service, and not through a Belgian Paramount+ either, because there isn’t one. Showtime’s own app was switched off on 30 April 2024 and, in SHOWTIME Help’s words, “SHOWTIME programming is now available through Paramount+”. Belgium is not on Paramount+’s regions page (read 9 October 2026), and we could not confirm any Belgian service carrying Showtime-made series today.

Is Paramount+ available in Belgium?

No. The “Paramount+ Regions” page listed 28 countries on 9 October 2026, France, Germany, the UK and Ireland among them, and none of Belgium, the Netherlands or Luxembourg. Neither Paramount+ app was in the Belgian App Store that day. A Paramount+ branded area was announced for Streamz in Flanders in 2023; that is a section of Streamz, not Paramount+ itself.

Does Streamz still have a Paramount+ area?

We could not confirm it. World Screen reported on 2 November 2023 that a Paramount+ branded area would open on Streamz under a multiyear licensing deal, and Streamz’s chief executive said Flemish viewers would have it from December. We found no first-party Streamz page about it in October 2026, and the 2023 reports we read did not mention Showtime. Check Streamz itself before relying on it.

Can I get SkyShowtime in Belgium?

Not according to SkyShowtime. Its release of 17 June 2025 lists the 22 markets where it is available, from Albania to Sweden, and Belgium is not among them; the Netherlands is. That matters for Showtime fans, because SkyShowtime is where Dexter: Resurrection streams in its markets: it announced the series for 12 September 2025.

Where can I watch Dexter: Resurrection in Belgium?

We could not confirm a Belgian service for it. In the U.S. it is on Paramount+, whose Showtime page lists “Dexter®: Resurrection” (9 October 2026). SkyShowtime announced it for 12 September 2025 in its own markets, which do not include Belgium. If a Belgian service adds it, that service’s own page is the place to check.

Where did the old Showtime app go?

Paramount shut it. Direct subscribers kept the service, in SHOWTIME Help’s phrase, “until they are discontinued on April 30, 2024”; after that, Showtime’s series lived on inside Paramount+. The USip videos on this page are from September 2021, when the app was still running; today the way in is paramountplus.com or the Paramount+ app.

Which Paramount+ plan includes Showtime?

The Premium plan carries the lot. Its U.S. description reads “Watch hit originals, movies and all of SHOWTIME® ad free”, while Essential offers “Access SHOWTIME® Originals” with a warning that “Series may not include all episodes”. If an older article mentions Paramount+ with Showtime, it means the same plan before it was renamed Premium on 23 June 2025.

Does a USip plan include Paramount+?

No. USip’s part is a residential U.S. IP, meaning an everyday home connection on an American internet provider, with the OpenVPN Connect setup or Smart DNS details to use it. Everything on the Paramount+ side, from the account to the plan to the rights in each Showtime series, is between you and Paramount+, which can refuse any connection.

Will Showtime work on a Belgian smart TV?

Only through Paramount+, and only after a laptop has given a clear answer. A television cannot run OpenVPN Connect, so Smart DNS is the route: USip needs your home’s current public IP address, and the television, or the router once, needs USip’s DNS details. We have not checked whether the Belgian Samsung, LG or operator stores offer Paramount+.

Am I allowed to use a VPN in Belgium?

As far as our search went, no Belgian law bans VPN software as such. Safeonweb, the Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium’s advice site, goes further, telling holidaymakers: “Install a Virtual Private Network (VPN).” Its concern is safety on unfamiliar Wi-Fi, not streaming, and other rules govern what you access. We are not lawyers; for a decision that depends on it, ask a qualified Belgian adviser.

How late does American prime time air in Belgium?

In the small hours. Most weeks, New York’s 8 p.m. is Brussels’s 2 a.m., and Los Angeles’s 8 p.m. is 5 a.m. here. In the week starting 25 October 2026, and in the fortnight from 14 March 2027, everything shifts an hour earlier. On-demand Showtime episodes have no air time at all; they start when you press play.

Will my Proximus, Telenet, Orange or DIGI line look different to Paramount+?

Not in the way that matters: each of them gives you a Belgian public address. BIPT’s figures for 2025 put 98% of fixed broadband with Proximus, Telenet and Orange Belgium and their second brands, while DIGI, new since December 2024, holds a mobile share of 0 to 5%. The one thing to watch is IPv6: with USip on, no IPv6 line should name a Belgian operator.

Paramount+ shows a message about my location. What now?

Take it as Paramount+’s answer for that connection. Check that both address lines still show the U.S. connection, write the message down word for word, reconnect USip once and try one more time. If it comes back, send the exact wording to USip support. There is nothing to learn from a third or tenth attempt that the second did not show.

The Showtime hub, and guides for seven more countries

The Showtime hub sets out the move to Paramount+ once, for all countries. The other seven guides apply the same facts to countries where Paramount+ has no service either. Four of them, Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands and Sweden, have SkyShowtime, and the Netherlands is next door.

Showtime in seven other countries

Check what Belgium has, then one episode on Paramount+

Start with what is within reach. If a Belgian service, Streamz in Flanders or one of the French-language players, turns out to carry the Showtime series you are after, watch it there; that needs nothing from USip. Check the service’s own page first, because we could not confirm one.

For the U.S. Showtime catalogue, the route is Paramount+, and the first step is small: one laptop, USip connected, both address lines checked, paramountplus.com in a private window and one episode left running for sixty seconds. Should a message about location, a VPN or a proxy appear instead, keep its wording, try once more, then hand the wording to USip support.

USip supplies the residential U.S. IP connection only. Paramount+ owns its accounts, plans and catalogue, and can refuse any connection, USip’s included.
