Short answer: Hulu is sold in the United States only, and not in Egypt. What Egypt does have is Disney+, whose entertainment tile has been called Hulu since 8 October 2025 — a regional catalogue, at EGP 170 a month on Disney’s Egyptian page.
If you are after U.S. Hulu, you most likely have it already: an account from time in the States, still active, now refusing in Cairo or Alexandria. It plays only when two things are true together — a U.S. account whose plan covers the show, and a connection Hulu reads as a U.S. household. USip supplies the second part, and nothing more.
Egypt’s version of the problem has its own shape. IPv6 reaches only about 5% of Egyptian users, so the usual IPv6 advice matters less here; what matters more is the local line, the app-store country and a clock that follows its own summer-time law. This page takes them in that order.
Hulu reads the public address a request comes from, and every consumer connection in Egypt supplies an Egyptian one — in Cairo, Alexandria, Giza, Mansoura or Hurghada alike. The company you use changes the speed and the service, not Hulu’s verdict.

Egypt’s internet is concentrated. The Internet Society rates competition in the market as “Very Poor”, and a fire at the Ramses Central building in Cairo in July 2025 showed what that means. The building hosts an exchange used by providers including Etisalat, Mobinil, Orange and Vodafone; the Internet Society measured drops of more than 80% on several of their networks and of around 15% for the country as a whole. Telecom Egypt was unaffected, and its large share of the market was one reason the damage was not felt more widely.
For a Hulu test the lesson is practical rather than dramatic. When a connection in Egypt misbehaves, the cause may be close to home rather than in America, so rule out the local line before drawing any conclusion about Hulu — the section on the local line below shows how.
Whatever the network, the address it hands you is Egyptian. That is the one thing a residential U.S. IP changes; the speed and reliability of your Egyptian line stay exactly as they are.

Disney+ launched in Egypt on 8 June 2022, one of 16 markets across the Middle East and North Africa that went live that day. On 8 October 2025 Disney renamed the Star tile Hulu in its international markets, and Disney’s Egyptian page now lists Hulu alongside Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Nat Geo and Star Wars.
That is the price Disney showed for Egypt on 29 September 2026, and the Hulu tile comes with it. Disney describes Hulu there as “home to a large library of current and past TV shows, films and documentaries.”
The tile holds what Disney has the rights to show in Egypt. A show being on U.S. Hulu does not put it in the Egyptian tile — so search for it rather than guessing from a list.
Open Disney+, choose the Hulu tile and type the show’s name. If it is there with the season you want, you are finished — and it is the cheaper and simpler outcome.
Around Disney+ sit the regional services that were already competing when it arrived. Al Arabiya’s launch coverage in June 2022, citing Digital TV Research, put Netflix first in the region with more than 6.8 million subscribers, Starzplay second with just under 2 million and Amazon at 1.4 million, and named MBC’s Shahid and OSN among the services making Arabic versions of U.S. shows.
The app’s own search is the only reliable check. Catalogues are licensed country by country and change over time; any list published elsewhere, this page included, is a starting point at best.

We quote rather than paraphrase, because the exact wording answers most questions before they are asked. The first four quotations are from Hulu’s help centre, the last three from its Subscriber Agreement.
“The videos on Hulu are only available in the U.S.” For a viewer in Egypt, that one sentence explains the location error.
A subscription “is intended for use by members of a single U.S. household.” An Egyptian home, however connected, is not that household in Hulu’s eyes.
On-demand subscribers “are able to stream anywhere in the U.S. — including Puerto Rico and U.S. military bases.” Egypt is not on that list, so the rule does not stretch to a summer in Alexandria.
Live TV subscribers are “not able to stream in U.S. territories, on U.S. military bases, or internationally.” That covers Egypt too, with no exception for short trips.
The service is “only available in the United States and certain of its territories,” and “Only residents of the countries and territories where we offer the Services … are eligible to subscribe.” Hulu is not offered in Egypt, so nobody living here qualifies to join.
Subscribers are asked not to use “any technology or technique to obscure or disguise your location.” The note below is about exactly this.
Put plainly: nobody living in Egypt can open a Hulu account, and no Egyptian subscription turns into one. The person this page can help already holds a U.S. account and wants it to behave in Cairo the way it did in the States.
The last quotation is there deliberately. A residential U.S. IP exists to change the location Hulu reads, and Hulu’s agreement asks you not to disguise it. Weigh the two yourself; we would sooner show you the clause than write around it.

Two numbers explain what an Egyptian connection looks like from outside — and which of the usual checks deserve your time here.
That is how many IPv4 addresses AFRINIC, Africa’s address registry, listed for Egypt in September 2026 — the second-largest national total in its records, after South Africa’s. Each of them is registered to an Egyptian holder, and a connection here reaches the internet through one of them.
IPv6 is the newer address system. Only about 5% of Egyptian users can reach websites over it, below the African average of 7%, by the Internet Society’s 2026 figures. The IPv6 check stays in the test, but on most Egyptian lines it comes back empty.
Hulu lists an address “block listed because of previous anonymous proxy use” among the causes of its location error. An address used by many people, or by a data centre, arrives with its history; a household address arrives with only yours.
The practical upshot: on an Egyptian line the IPv6 step of the test usually takes ten seconds and finds nothing, and the things worth your attention are the kind of U.S. address you use, the browser’s memory and the account.
If you will watch on a television, note one more thing: USip’s Smart DNS recognises your home by its public IP address, so if your provider changes that address, it has to be registered again.
If your checker does show an Egyptian IPv6 address, take it seriously anyway — browsers prefer IPv6 whenever both routes work. Make the connection cover it, or switch IPv6 off on that device for the test.

A connection app sits on top of your Egyptian line. If the line struggles, everything above it struggles too — and the symptoms can look very like a Hulu refusal.
Run a speed test with the U.S. connection off. For scale, the Internet Society’s 2026 figures for Egypt are about 97 Mbps on fixed broadband and 52 Mbps on mobile. If your line struggles to reach even a few Mbps today, sort that out before anything else.
Hulu asks for roughly 3 Mbps for on-demand video and 16 Mbps for 4K. The figure that counts is the one through the U.S. connection, because that is the route the video actually takes.
If a test fails on home internet, repeat it once on mobile data, or the other way round. A failure on one network and a pass on the other points at the network, not at Hulu.
Networks do go down — the Ramses Central fire in July 2025 caused large drops on several networks that use the exchange in that building. If nothing loads at all, you are not looking at Hulu’s location check.
Hotels, offices and campuses that run their own networks often restrict the tunnels a connection app needs. If it works on mobile data and fails on the building’s Wi-Fi, the Wi-Fi is the difference.
Hulu remembers where it last saw you. Clear the site’s data or use a private window before you count another attempt as evidence.
None of this makes Hulu certain, and we will not pretend otherwise. It makes a failure readable — pointing at the line, the browser, the account or the licence rather than at all four at once.

Each step rules one layer in or out, so that a failure points at the account, the line, the browser or the licence — not at all of them together.
Sign in to the Hulu account page and read the plan: With Ads, Premium, a Disney+ bundle or Live TV. Live TV does not stream outside the U.S. at all, and a show that is not in your plan will not appear whatever address you use — so settle this first.
Run a speed test with the U.S. connection switched off. If the line is slow or down today, nothing after this step will mean anything; wait for it, or move to another network, before you go on.
Bring the connection up with the help of the Windows or Mac guide. The IPv4 line should say United States; the IPv6 line will usually be empty in Egypt, and must never show an Egyptian address. Then open hulu.com in a private window.
Choose a plain on-demand episode from your plan and watch a full minute. If it fails, copy the message exactly: P-EDU101 means Hulu still places you outside the U.S., while a show missing from search is about rights. The Android and iOS guides are for after this has passed.
A normal episode plays but one particular show does not? Then the address is working, and the answer lies in the plan or the licence for that show. Switching servers will not alter either.

Get one laptop browser working before anything else. Phones bring in an app store and an account country; a television cannot run the app, so it relies on USip’s Smart DNS. The four videos date from December 2022: the connection steps have not changed, and Hulu’s screens have.

Apple says iCloud Private Relay is not available in all countries or regions. If your Mac shows it switched on anyway, turn it off for the test, since it routes Safari’s traffic through relays of its own. Google Play offers apps by the Google account’s country, so an Egyptian account will not list Hulu whatever the connection says. Changing the account country has knock-on effects on earlier purchases, so treat it as a decision of its own. On mobile data, stop Android’s battery optimisation from closing the connection app — a dropped tunnel looks just like a Hulu refusal.

The App Store goes by the Apple Account’s country. An Egyptian Apple Account will not show the Hulu app; one kept from time in the U.S. may still have it. Changing the country affects subscriptions and Family Sharing and comes with Apple’s own conditions. Egypt brought summer time back in 2023. Under Law No. 24 of 2023 the clocks go forward from the last Friday of April to the end of the last Thursday of October, moving Egypt from GMT+2 to GMT+3. The United States changes on other dates, which opens a six-hour gap for six to seven weeks each spring and a shorter one at the end of October.

For most of the year the American evening therefore arrives in the Egyptian small hours — and Live TV is not an option from abroad at any hour. On-demand episodes are what you plan around.
Egypt’s switch dates are fixed in law, which makes them easy to plan for: the last Friday of April and the last Thursday of October, against the second Sunday of March and the first Sunday of November in the U.S. The cabinet gave saving energy as the reason when it decided in 2023.
A test run late at night is still a valid test. What matters is the order — line, connection, addresses, private window, one ordinary episode — not the hour on the clock.
