The separate app closed
SHOWTIME Help put it plainly: “The SHOWTIME streaming service is being discontinued”. Existing subscribers kept access “until they are discontinued on April 30, 2024”. After that there was no separate app left to open.
Short answer: Showtime is no longer a service of its own. Its separate streaming app closed on 30 April 2024, and its series now stream inside Paramount+. Paramount+ is not sold in Singapore: its “Paramount+ Regions” page names 28 countries, with Australia as the only one in Asia and the Pacific, and on 9 October 2026 neither of the two Paramount+ apps was listed in Singapore’s App Store.
Locally, we came up empty. On 9 October 2026 we searched for Dexter: Resurrection, the series on Paramount+’s Showtime page, across Mediacorp’s mewatch, StarHub, Singtel and Prime Video, and found no page from any of them that we could cite. HBO Max is sold here, and since 6 October 2026 it belongs to Skydance, the same company as Paramount+. It is still a separate service with its own catalogue.
So the first check is short, and it happens on a laptop: connect a residential U.S. IP from USip, open paramountplus.com in a private browser window, sign in with the Paramount+ account you already have, and play one Showtime episode for a minute. USip provides the American address. Paramount+ decides whether to accept it, and it can say no.

Before changing anything on your connection, it is worth knowing what Singapore offers by itself. We started from Paramount’s own pages, then looked for local listings of the current Showtime series. The table keeps what we confirmed apart from what we could not.
| Name | In Singapore | Compared with Showtime in the U.S. |
|---|---|---|
| Paramount+ | Missing from the 28 countries on the “Paramount+ Regions” page; Australia is the only Asia-Pacific entry | The U.S. service where Showtime now lives, on the Premium and Essential plans |
| The two Paramount+ apps | Neither the U.S. app nor the international one was in Singapore’s App Store on 9 October 2026 | The U.S. app is listed in the U.S. store only; the international one in the UK, Ireland and Australia |
| Dexter: Resurrection | No page from mewatch, StarHub, Singtel or Prime Video that we could cite | On Paramount+’s Showtime page; Paramount has announced season two for Friday 30 October 2026 |
| HBO Max | Sold in Singapore, with its own Singapore help centre | Owned by Skydance since 6 October 2026, like Paramount+, yet a separate service with a separate catalogue |
The honest reading is that Showtime has no Singapore home we could confirm. That is not proof that no local service carries a single Showtime episode. Licences are sold country by country and title by title, and a series can appear in a catalogue without a press release that a search would find. If one particular show is what you want, type its name into the services you already use — mewatch, StarHub TV+, Singtel TV, Prime Video, Netflix — before you do anything else.
HBO Max needs one more line, because the ownership news is days old. Paramount completed its takeover of Warner Bros. Discovery on 6 October 2026, and the combined company is called Skydance. That puts HBO Max and Paramount+ under one owner, but no date has been given for any combined streaming service, and we will not guess at one. For now, HBO Max in Singapore is simply HBO Max, and Showtime’s current programmes sit inside Paramount+.
Catalogues change, often without notice. Paramount’s pages and the App Store were read on 9 October 2026, and our searches of Singapore services ran the same day. Season two’s date comes from Paramount’s U.S. press release of 1 October 2026.

A lot of what is written about Showtime online describes products that have gone. Here is the current picture in six points, each taken from the company’s own pages or from a named report.
SHOWTIME Help put it plainly: “The SHOWTIME streaming service is being discontinued”. Existing subscribers kept access “until they are discontinued on April 30, 2024”. After that there was no separate app left to open.
The same help page says: “SHOWTIME programming is now available through Paramount+”. In practice that means paramountplus.com in a browser, or the Paramount+ app wherever a store lists it.
The plan once called Paramount+ with Showtime was renamed Paramount+ Premium, TheWrap reported. Only the cable and satellite channel still uses the longer name.
Paramount+ describes Premium as the plan with hit originals, movies and “all of SHOWTIME®” without ads. It also lists live CBS and downloads.
The other plan, Essential, lists “Access SHOWTIME® Originals”, with a footnote that reads “Series may not include all episodes”. Some of Showtime, then, rather than all of it.
Paramount completed its takeover of Warner Bros. Discovery, and the combined company is called Skydance (Forbes). The footer of Paramount+’s U.S. site now reads “Paramount+ © 2026 Skydance”.
For a reader in Singapore, those six points come down to one requirement and one choice. The requirement is a Paramount+ account, because there is no other door to Showtime’s current programmes. The choice is the plan: if you want every Showtime title rather than a selection, Premium is the plan Paramount+ describes that way. USip is part of neither. It supplies the residential U.S. IP connection, and the account, the plan and the programmes stay with Paramount+.

Singapore keeps UTC+8 all year, so the gap changes on American dates only: 12 hours to New York and 15 to Los Angeles until Saturday 31 October 2026, then 13 and 16 hours from Sunday 1 November until Saturday 13 March 2027.
| U.S. time | Singapore until 31 October 2026, and again from 14 March 2027 | Singapore from 1 November 2026 to 13 March 2027 |
|---|---|---|
| 8 p.m. Eastern | 8 a.m. the next day | 9 a.m. the next day |
| 10 p.m. Eastern | 10 a.m. the next day | 11 a.m. the next day |
| Midnight Eastern | Noon | 1 p.m. |
| 3 a.m. Eastern | 3 p.m. | 4 p.m. |
| 6 p.m. Pacific | 9 a.m. the next day | 10 a.m. the next day |
| 9 p.m. Pacific | Noon the next day | 1 p.m. the next day |
The American changes fall on Sunday 1 November 2026 — at 2 p.m. Singapore time for New York and 5 p.m. for Los Angeles — and on Sunday 14 March 2027, at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Singapore time. The next autumn change after that is on 7 November 2027.
Paramount has announced Friday 30 October 2026 for the second season of Dexter: Resurrection, two days before the American clocks go back. Paramount+ does not publish Singapore release times, and we have not seen an hour for that premiere, so treat any time quoted elsewhere with care. Once an episode is in the library, it starts whenever you press play.
A Showtime episode on Paramount+ begins when you press play. The time difference matters for the release moment, not for the watching.
Premium also lists live CBS, and live means a U.S. schedule. A programme at 8 p.m. in New York is on at breakfast here: 8 a.m. now, 9 a.m. from 1 November.
From that afternoon every U.S. time lands an hour later here. Your own clocks do not move; only the American side shifts.
The U.S. moves forward again, and the gap shrinks back to 12 and 15 hours until the following November.
Start USip before you open paramountplus.com, not halfway through an episode, so Paramount+ sees one address from the first request to the last.
If you intend to follow season two, check now which plan the account shows. Premium is the one Paramount+ describes with “all of SHOWTIME®”.
Times computed with Python’s zoneinfo module and version 2026c of the IANA time-zone database (Asia/Singapore, America/New_York, America/Los_Angeles). They are plain clock conversions, not a Paramount+ schedule.

Every ordinary connection in Singapore gives your devices a Singapore public address, and that address is the first thing a streaming service looks at. A faster plan does not change it, and neither does the brand on the contract.
| How you connect | Who provides it | What Paramount+ sees |
|---|---|---|
| Fibre broadband at home | Your broadband provider; IMDA counted 1,595,100 fibre subscriptions in August 2024, against 200 on copper DSL | A Singapore address, in a country Paramount+ does not list |
| 4G or 5G mobile data, hotspots included | Singtel, StarHub, M1 or Simba, or a brand that uses one of their networks | A Singapore address, often with an IPv6 one beside it |
| Condo, office, campus or hotel Wi-Fi | The building, employer, university or hotel | A Singapore address, and a network that may stop OpenVPN Connect before Paramount+ sees anything |
| Any of the above, with USip connected | USip, over the line you already have | One U.S. household address, which Paramount+ can still refuse |
The official numbers show how connected the city is. IMDA’s figures for August 2024, the newest month we could open in full on 9 October 2026, count 9,795,900 mobile subscriptions — a penetration rate of 165.5% in IMDA’s own measure, with about 2.15 million on 5G — and 1,461,900 residential wired broadband subscriptions, which IMDA puts at 93.5% of households.
Singapore has four licensed telecom operators — Singtel, StarHub, M1 and Simba, in ABI Research’s 2022 list — and the market is moving. M1’s planned sale to Simba, which Techgoondu calls the country’s fourth telecom operator, lapsed in May 2026 after IMDA suspended its review. On 24 September 2026 Light Reading reported that Keppel and StarHub had confirmed talks about M1, with Keppel saying “nothing definitive has been reached at this stage”. The same report ranks StarHub and M1 second and third by market share.
None of that changes what Paramount+ reads. One technical detail matters more than any brand: many lines hand out two public addresses, a familiar IPv4 one and a newer IPv6 one. If your U.S. connection carries only IPv4, a browser can still reach some services over IPv6, from your Singapore address. That is why the first step of the check reads both lines.
IMDA publishes totals, not each provider’s share. Its statistics page lists releases up to July–December 2025, which we could not open; the figures above come from its July–December 2024 release, last updated on 8 November 2024.

Plenty of services will make an address checker say “United States”. What differs is the kind of address behind the flag, and whether a streaming service has reason to treat it as a home or as a server.
| Option | What Paramount+ sees | The catch | Sensible use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your own Singapore line | A Singapore address | Paramount+ lists no service here | mewatch, HBO Max and your other local apps |
| A free VPN app | Server addresses shared by very many users at once | Crowded, often slow, and widely recognised as VPN traffic | Nothing you need for this |
| A data-centre VPN | An address from a hosting company’s range | The country may read U.S., but the owner is a server business, not a household | Privacy on public Wi-Fi |
| USip’s residential U.S. IP | One ordinary consumer address on a U.S. internet provider | Paramount+ decides which connections it accepts and can refuse any, USip’s included | A steady U.S. address for the ten-minute check |
If a Showtime episode plays in a fresh private window, the connection has done its part.
When Paramount+ says no, stop changing settings: note its words, reconnect once, try once more, then ask USip support.

A laptop browser is the clearest place to begin. You can see the address and Paramount+’s reply with nothing in between, and no app store is involved.
Set up the connection with the Windows guide or the Mac guide, connect, and open an IP address checker. The IPv4 line must say United States. If an IPv6 line appears, it must not name Singtel, StarHub, M1, Simba or any other Singapore provider: whatever the checker can see, Paramount+ can see too.
A fresh private window carries no cookies from earlier visits, so Paramount+ forms its view from scratch. Sign in with the Paramount+ account you already use. This check is about the connection, not about opening an account.
Open the Showtime section, start one episode — Dexter: Resurrection is on Paramount+’s Showtime page — and let it run for a full minute. While you are there, look at which plan the account shows: Premium carries “all of SHOWTIME®”, while Essential’s Showtime titles come with the note “Series may not include all episodes”.
If the episode plays, the connection has done its part on that laptop, today. If a message mentions your location, a VPN or a proxy, write its wording down exactly, reconnect USip once and try one more time. If it comes back, send the wording to USip support. Ten retries will not change the answer.
USip publishes its own dated checks on a separate page, USip’s published checks. They describe other days and other connections; for your laptop in Singapore, your own four steps are the evidence that counts.

USip connects computers and phones through the OpenVPN Connect app, and televisions through Smart DNS. The four videos below were recorded in September 2021, when Showtime still had an app and a website of its own. The USip connection steps in them still apply; what you open afterwards has changed, so read the note beside each one.

The Windows video opens Showtime as it was in 2021, with a website and an app of its own. Both are gone: Showtime now opens inside Paramount+. The USip connection steps in the video are unchanged, so follow them, read the address checker once connected, then open paramountplus.com in a private window.
A work laptop that already runs its employer’s VPN is the wrong machine for this. With two tunnels active at once, no result means anything.
Step by step: the Windows setup guide.

Like the others, the Mac video shows Showtime’s own service, which closed in 2024; today the same connection steps lead to paramountplus.com. Two Mac settings can send traffic around your connection: iCloud Private Relay, which routes Safari through Apple’s relays, and IPv6, which a browser may use if your line offers it.
Switch Private Relay off for the check, or use another browser, and read both lines on the address checker before you open Paramount+.
Step by step: the Mac setup guide.

The Android video changes the Google Play country to reach the old Showtime app. Both halves of that are out of date. The app closed on 30 April 2024, and Google Play Help now says “To set up a new country or region, you must be in that location”, adding that you “must wait at least 90 days” between changes.
So begin in Chrome on the phone: connect OpenVPN Connect, check the address, open paramountplus.com. If Android closes apps to save battery, exempt OpenVPN Connect, or a dropped tunnel will look like a refusal.
Step by step: the Android setup guide.

The iPhone video opens the Showtime app, which closed on 30 April 2024. Before copying any App Store country change from it, read Apple’s own conditions for moving an account to another country or region: on 9 October 2026 Singapore’s App Store listed neither Paramount+ app, and a move affects everything tied to that account.
Start in Safari instead, with OpenVPN Connect running and iCloud Private Relay off. Leave any App Store decision until a browser has played a Showtime episode.
Step by step: the iOS setup guide.
Televisions, streaming sticks and games consoles cannot run OpenVPN Connect, so USip sets them up with Smart DNS. You register your home’s public IP address with USip, then enter the DNS details in the device’s network settings, or once on the router for every device at home. If your provider changes that public address, register the new one; the Smart DNS guide covers each step.
Two Singapore notes. A Paramount+ app on a television comes from that television’s own store, and we have not checked what those stores show here. And in a rented flat where the router is not yours to change, set Smart DNS on the device itself. Leave the big screen until a laptop has played an episode.

One residential U.S. IP — an ordinary consumer address on a U.S. ISP, not a server range. USip and Paramount+ are separate services: the plans include the connection only — not a Paramount+ subscription, an app-store region or the rights to any title.
Separate services: these prices are for the USip residential U.S. IP service only. Showtime streams inside Paramount+, a separate service; a Paramount+ subscription and access to any particular series or film are not part of a USip plan.
An app store shows the catalogue of the country your account belongs to. A U.S. connection does not change that, which is why this guide begins in a browser.
Apple’s U.S. Paramount+ app (id530168168) was listed only in the U.S. store, and the international app (id1340650234) in the UK, Ireland and Australia. Singapore’s storefront had neither.
Apple’s support page sets out what must happen before an account changes country or region. It is a decision about everything on that account, not about one app.
Google Play Help says you must be in a country to set it, and must wait at least 90 days between changes. We could not check Google Play country by country, so we make no claim either way.
paramountplus.com in a browser needs nothing from an app store. On a laptop, the only thing to install is OpenVPN Connect.
If a forum post or an old video sends you looking for an app called Showtime, it belongs to the service that closed. Showtime’s programmes now live inside Paramount+.
Smart TVs and streaming sticks have app stores of their own, and we have not checked what they list in Singapore. They also need Smart DNS rather than OpenVPN Connect.
The order follows from that. A laptop browser first, then a phone browser, and app-store questions last — only if the browser route is not enough for you.

Readers often ask about the law before anything else. We looked for an official Singapore source, and found one that addresses the question directly.
Singapore’s Government Technology Agency writes: “The usage of Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) is generally legal in Singapore for personal use.” It is the plainest official statement we found.
GovTech adds that “using a VPN to commit illegal activities remains unlawful and will be subject to the existing laws of Singapore.” A tunnel changes the route of your traffic, not what the law allows.
Workplace, campus and condo networks have acceptable-use rules of their own, separate from the law. Read them before installing anything on a managed laptop or phone.
Nothing on this page is legal advice, and rules can change. If the answer matters for your work or your circumstances, ask someone qualified in Singapore law.
A second set of rules sits outside any government page: the streaming service’s own decisions. Paramount+ decides which connections it accepts, and it can refuse any of them, USip’s included. Nothing on this page means Paramount+ approves of what we sell, and nothing here promises that an episode will play.

Answered from Paramount’s and SHOWTIME Help’s own pages, GovTech, IMDA, Apple and Google. Where the honest answer depends on something we do not control, we say so.
Not as a local service. Showtime’s own streaming app closed on 30 April 2024, and its programmes now stream inside Paramount+, which does not list Singapore among its regions. On 9 October 2026 neither Paramount+ app was in Singapore’s App Store, and we could not confirm a Singapore service carrying current Showtime series such as Dexter: Resurrection. What remains is the U.S. Paramount+ over a U.S. connection, which Paramount+ can refuse.
No. On 9 October 2026 the “Paramount+ Regions” page listed 28 countries in Europe, the Americas and Australia, and Singapore was not one of them; Australia was the only Asia-Pacific entry. The same day, neither the U.S. Paramount+ app nor the international one appeared in Singapore’s App Store. We found no announcement of a Singapore launch.
It closed. SHOWTIME Help announced that “The SHOWTIME streaming service is being discontinued”, and subscribers kept access “until they are discontinued on April 30, 2024”. Since then, in the same page’s words, “SHOWTIME programming is now available through Paramount+”. USip’s videos on this page were recorded in September 2021 and still show the old app: the connection steps apply, but what you open now is Paramount+.
Both plans have some of it, and one has all of it. Paramount+ describes Premium as the plan with “all of SHOWTIME®” ad free, alongside live CBS and downloads. Essential lists “Access SHOWTIME® Originals”, with the footnote “Series may not include all episodes”. Premium used to be called Paramount+ with Showtime; TheWrap reported the new name on 23 June 2025. A residential U.S. IP has no effect on which plan an account is on.
We could not confirm a Singapore home for it. On 9 October 2026 we searched for the series on mewatch, StarHub, Singtel and Prime Video and found no page from those services that we could cite. In the U.S. it sits on Paramount+’s Showtime page, and Paramount has announced Friday 30 October 2026 for season two. Catalogues change, so search the apps you already use for the title before anything else.
Nothing has been announced. Paramount completed its takeover of Warner Bros. Discovery on 6 October 2026, and the combined company, Skydance, owns Paramount+, HBO Max and the Showtime channel. No date has been given for any combined streaming service. HBO Max is sold in Singapore with its own catalogue; we have not checked it title by title, so search it for a specific show if you use it. Showtime’s current programmes are in Paramount+.
No. USip supplies one residential U.S. IP connection and nothing else: no Paramount+ account, no plan, no app-store region and no rights to any series. Paramount+ is a separate service that decides for itself which connections it accepts, and it can refuse any of them, USip’s included. USip’s Paramount+ guide covers Paramount+ itself in more detail.
Perhaps, but not as the first step. A television cannot run OpenVPN Connect, so USip connects it through Smart DNS: you register your home’s public IP address with USip and enter the DNS details on the TV or the router. The Paramount+ app on a TV comes from the TV’s own store, which we have not checked in Singapore. Run the laptop check first, so you know where you stand before touching the big screen.
Singapore’s Government Technology Agency says “The usage of Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) is generally legal in Singapore for personal use”, and adds that using one to commit illegal activities remains unlawful. We are not lawyers, and this is not legal advice. Employers, schools and buildings set their own network rules. Separately, Paramount+ decides which connections it accepts and can refuse any of them.
That depends on the U.S. release time, which Paramount+ does not publish for Singapore. As a guide, 8 p.m. in New York is 8 a.m. the next day here until 31 October 2026, and 9 a.m. from 1 November 2026 to 13 March 2027. Paramount has given Friday 30 October 2026 for season two of Dexter: Resurrection. Once an episode is on Paramount+, it plays whenever you press play.
Write the message down word for word, or take a screenshot. Check that the address checker shows the United States on the IPv4 line and no Singapore provider on an IPv6 line, reconnect USip once, and try one more time in a fresh private window. If the message returns, send its exact wording to USip support. Paramount+ decides which connections to accept, and repeated attempts will not change its answer.
Not to start. paramountplus.com plays in a laptop browser with nothing to install except OpenVPN Connect, and that is where the ten-minute check happens. On 9 October 2026 Singapore’s App Store listed neither Paramount+ app, and app stores follow your account’s country, not your connection. Apple and Google both set conditions for changing that country, so leave it until a browser has played an episode.
It changes the address Paramount+ reads to an ordinary U.S. household one, which a Singapore line cannot supply. It cannot promise the outcome: Paramount+ decides which connections it accepts and can refuse any, USip’s included. The ten-minute check gives you an answer for your own laptop on the day you run it, and that is the evidence worth relying on.

The hub covers Showtime’s move into Paramount+ in more depth. Each country guide below starts from that country’s own services, clocks and rules, so the answers differ from place to place.
The main pages behind this guide, each read on 9 October 2026; dated labels give the publication date. Also used: Techgoondu’s report of 19 May 2026 on the lapsed M1–Simba deal, ABI Research’s 2022 note on Singapore’s four operators, HBO Max’s Singapore help centre, and the IANA time-zone database (version 2026c).
Look locally first. If a Singapore service you already use carries the Showtime title you want, that is the simplest route, with no address question at all. We could not confirm one for Dexter: Resurrection, and Paramount+ itself does not serve Singapore.
If it is the U.S. Paramount+ you want, the check takes about ten minutes: USip connected on a laptop, both address lines read, a private window, your own Paramount+ account and one Showtime episode for a minute. If Paramount+ objects, keep its exact words, reconnect once, try once more, and send the wording to USip support.
USip supplies the residential U.S. IP connection only. Paramount+, its plans and Showtime’s programmes belong to Paramount+, which decides which connections to accept and can refuse any, USip’s included.
