Starz’s own UK service closed on 29 February 2024. Outlander moved to MGM+.

How to Watch Starz in the UK

Short answer: Starz has no British service. Its Google Play listing says so directly: “STARZ online services are only accessible through participating partners in the U.S. and certain U.S. territories”. When we checked on 10 October 2026, the STARZ app was in Apple’s U.S. App Store and not in the UK one. Starz did once run its own service here, STARZPLAY, renamed Lionsgate+ in 2022, but that standalone service closed on 29 February 2024. Today Lionsgate, now a separate company, uses the name for an add-on channel in Prime Video.

The series people ask about did not disappear. Most of them went to MGM+, an Amazon add-on channel inside Prime Video: Outlander in full, including the final season, Outlander: Blood of My Blood (season two from 19 September 2026), Spartacus: House of Ashur and the Power series. For the recent premieres we found, UK episodes came about a day after the U.S. Sky, meanwhile, has Fightland, a newer Starz drama, for Sky and NOW.

If you still want Starz itself, the first check needs a laptop, not a television. Connect the USip residential U.S. IP, open starz.com in a private browser window and, with a Starz subscription you already have, play one episode for a minute. Starz decides which connections it accepts and may refuse any of them, USip’s included, so the result is Starz’s answer for that session, nothing more.

Where Starz series are shown in the UK, and how that compares with Starz

Before setting anything up, look at what Britain already offers. Since Starz’s own Lionsgate+ service closed in 2024, the best-known Starz titles here have lived on MGM+, Amazon’s add-on channel in Prime Video, and one newer Starz drama went to Sky. Amazon’s own UK title pages would not open for our check, so each row rests on the companies’ own announcements or on dated reports, named in the row.

SeriesWhere it is in the UK (checked 10 October 2026)Compared with Starz in the U.S.
Outlander, all eight seasonsMGM+. Amazon named MGM+ the exclusive UK home of the complete Outlander franchise in April 2024, and The Scotsman still described the show as exclusive to MGM+ on 6 March 2026. Final-season episodes came weekly; episode three, for example, reached MGM+ on Saturday 21 March, about a day after the U.S. (The Scotsman, 20 March 2026).The final season premiered on Starz on Friday 6 March 2026 (TV Insider) and was in the STARZ app from midnight Eastern Time that day (Parade).
Outlander: Blood of My BloodMGM+. Season one is there, and season two began on Saturday 19 September 2026, streaming only on MGM+ in the UK (The Scotsman and Advanced Television, both 2 June 2026).Season two began on Starz on Friday 18 September 2026 (BroadwayWorld, 17 September 2026).
Spartacus: House of AshurMGM+, with new episodes weekly on Saturdays from 6 December 2025. The earlier Spartacus series are on MGM+ as well (Advanced Television, 13 November 2025).Episodes went out first on the Starz channel in the evening and were added to the app the next day (TechRadar, 2 January 2026).
The Power series: Power, Ghost, Raising Kanan and ForceAll four were in MGM+’s UK line-up when it relaunched on 20 May 2024 (Advanced Television). For the final season of Raising Kanan we found only a streaming guide, Reelgood (7 August 2026), listing it on MGM+ through Prime Video Channels; we could not confirm that with Amazon or MGM+. Netflix is due to join in: TheWrap reported on 27 July 2026 that the four series will go to Netflix outside the U.S. and Canada from November under a non-exclusive, multi-year deal with Lionsgate Television. Those two are the only exclusions it names, so the UK is not ruled out, but we found no UK date, and the series are not on Netflix yet. The coming spin-offs Power: Origins and Power: Legacy are outside that deal.Raising Kanan’s fifth season is its last, and Force has ended. Starz keeps the U.S. rights; TheWrap says the original Power will also be on Netflix in the U.S. from November.
P-ValleySeasons one and two were in the MGM+ UK line-up of May 2024 (Advanced Television). We found no UK date for the third season. The third and final season, nine episodes, is due on Starz from Friday 4 December 2026, opening with two episodes (TVLine, 10 September 2026).
BMFMGM+ held the earlier seasons in June 2025 (What to Watch, 5 June 2025). Reelgood listed season four there in August 2025; we could not confirm that with Amazon.Ended in 2025 after four seasons. Season four aired on the Starz channel on Fridays at 9 p.m. Eastern and reached the app on Saturdays (What to Watch, 5 June 2025).
FightlandSky said on 26 February 2026 that this Starz boxing drama would air on Sky and NOW in the UK and Ireland later in the year. We could not confirm the UK date from Sky.In Sky’s announcement Starz calls it the first original series it fully owns. We could not confirm the U.S. premiere date.

Read down the middle column and a pattern appears. For the Starz series most people search for, the British route is MGM+, and for the big premieres we could check it ran about a day behind America. A residential U.S. IP cannot make an episode appear sooner than Starz releases it. What Starz itself would add, if it accepts your connection, is the American service: its app, its website with the live stream, and any title MGM+ does not carry.

MGM+ and Starz are easy to confuse. MGM+ belongs to Amazon and shows Starz series in the UK under a deal announced on 2 April 2024; Starz is a separate U.S. company with its own app and accounts.

Catalogues change, sometimes in the middle of a season. These rows were checked on 10 October 2026 against the sources named, and the Prime Video app on your own account has the final word. USip has no part in any of these deals.

Starz’s own UK service and what came after, 2018 to 2026

The last row needs explaining. The Lionsgate+ name is back in Britain in 2026, as Lionsgate’s own add-on channel in Prime Video, and it is not Starz: the two companies split on 7 May 2025. Lionsgate’s page also warns: “The content availability may vary by location.” We could not confirm which Starz series, if any, the channel carries in the UK. For Outlander and the other titles listed earlier on this page, the reports we found point to MGM+.

Where the series would go was reported in February 2024 and made official on 2 April, when Amazon announced the MGM+ deal. Since then the Outlander prequel, the final Outlander season and Spartacus: House of Ashur have all gone to MGM+ in the UK.

Britain was not alone. Lionsgate announced in November 2022 that it would pull Lionsgate+ from Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Nordics, the Benelux and Japan, and Latin America followed at the end of 2023.

Starz in October 2026

A U.S. service again, independent since May 2025

Starz now runs its streaming service for the U.S. In its own words: “STARZ online services are only accessible through participating partners in the U.S. and certain U.S. territories”. It completed its separation from Lionsgate on 7 May 2025 and trades on Nasdaq as STRZ.

Where it runs

The U.S. and certain U.S. territories

The Google Play listing ties Starz’s online services to partners in the U.S. and certain U.S. territories. Starz has had no British service of its own since February 2024.

Since 7 May 2025

A separate company from Lionsgate

Starz finished splitting from Lionsgate in May 2025 and trades on Nasdaq as STRZ. It reported about 20 million subscribers in the U.S. and Canada at the end of 2024.

Three ways in

The app, a TV provider or Amazon

Americans sign up in the STARZ app or on starz.com, get Starz with a TV subscription, or add it in Prime Video Channels. Starz Help says Amazon Channels sign-ins do not work in the STARZ app; those subscribers watch in the Prime Video app.

Screens at once

Four streams per account

Starz Help: “You can stream on up to 4 different devices at once.” A fifth stream at the same moment brings up an error in the app.

Offline

Downloads in the app

The Google Play listing mentions offline viewing through downloads, for watching without a connection.

Live

A live stream on the website

Starz Help: “STARZ provides a live stream on our website.” For a first check from Britain, one on-demand episode is the simpler choice.

In Britain there is no Starz service at all. MGM+, where many Starz series are shown under licence, belongs to Amazon, and the Lionsgate+ channel in Prime Video belongs to Lionsgate; Starz itself stays in the U.S., with its own accounts and rules.

Friday morning in London, Saturday on MGM+

When new Starz episodes appear in UK time, autumn 2026 to spring 2027

In the U.S., a new episode usually appears in the STARZ app at midnight Eastern Time on its release day, sometimes a day later. Midnight in New York is early morning in London, and twice this season the gap shrinks by an hour, because the UK and the U.S. change their clocks on different Sundays: the UK on 25 October 2026 and 28 March 2027, the U.S. on 1 November 2026 and 14 March 2027.

FridaysMidnight Eastern Time is, in LondonWhy
Up to 23 October 202605:00 on Friday (BST)London is five hours ahead of New York
30 October 202604:00 on Friday (GMT)UK clocks went back on 25 October; U.S. clocks follow on 1 November
6 November 2026 to 12 March 202705:00 on Friday (GMT)Both on winter time
19 and 26 March 202704:00 on Friday (GMT)U.S. clocks went forward on 14 March; UK clocks follow on 28 March
From 2 April 202705:00 on Friday (BST)Both on summer time

So a Friday release on Starz is ready before breakfast in London, and staying up on Thursday gains nothing. When a series goes out first on the Starz channel at night, the app copy can follow the next day: a 9 p.m. Eastern broadcast is 2 a.m. in London in most weeks. For the series MGM+ carries in the UK, the episodes we found arrived on Saturdays, about a day after the U.S.: the final Outlander season, Blood of My Blood’s second season and Spartacus: House of Ashur.

Converted with Python’s zoneinfo module and tz database release 2026c (America/New_York and Europe/London). Starz sets the release dates; the table only converts the clock.

Fibre, cable, mobile or satellite: still a British address

UK broadband and mobile lines, as Starz sees them

Every connection in Britain, whatever the technology, shows websites a British IP address, and that address is the first thing Starz reads. Ofcom’s newest quarterly figures cover the first quarter of 2026 (Telecommunications Market Data Update, last updated 23 July 2026). Its yearly Connected Nations UK report for 2025 gives network coverage as of July 2025.

LineWhat Ofcom reportsWhat Starz sees
Home broadband: full fibre, part fibre or copper29.4 million fixed broadband lines at the end of Q1 2026. Full fibre was available to 78% of homes by July 2025.A British address from your provider, whether that is BT, Sky, TalkTalk or another
CableOfcom names Virgin Media O2 as the UK’s cable broadband provider, on networks that deliver gigabit speeds.A British address
Mobile data, 4G and 5G90.6 million active mobile subscriptions at the end of Q1 2026, machine-to-machine excluded. The networks Ofcom reports on are BT/EE, Virgin Media O2 and VodafoneThree.A British address, also when a laptop shares the phone’s connection
SatelliteStarlink, which Ofcom’s 2025 report calls the only low-orbit operator covering the UK, with take-up above 110,000.A British address: the dish is in Britain, and so is the line
Work, hotel or café Wi-FiNot counted separately.A British address, sometimes behind a firewall that will not let a tunnel through

Ofcom’s quarterly update gives national totals, not shares by company, so the table names networks rather than market shares. Speed is seldom the problem: gigabit-capable broadband was available to 87% of homes by July 2025. Judge the picture with the USip connection running, since your traffic then crosses the Atlantic and back.

Many British lines give a device two addresses, an older IPv4 one and a newer IPv6 one. If the device keeps using its British IPv6 address while USip is connected, Starz may still see your UK provider. Step 1 of the check below shows both addresses, and neither may name a UK provider.

Four kinds of address, four sets of limits

Your own line, VPN apps or a residential U.S. IP: what Starz would see

An address checker that says “United States” proves less than it seems to. Starz decides which connections it accepts and can turn any of them down, USip’s included. The options below differ in how the address looks to Starz and in how much one result can tell you.

OptionWhat Starz seesThe catchSensible use
Your own UK lineA British address from your broadband or mobile providerStarz serves the U.S. and certain U.S. territories, so a British address is outside its areaMGM+ in Prime Video, Sky, NOW and the rest of British TV

USip residential US IPOne ordinary household address from a U.S. internet providerStarz can still refuse it; nothing obliges Starz to accept any connectionA steady U.S. household address, so a result means something

What a residential U.S. IP changes

  • Where Starz places you: on an ordinary U.S. home connection instead of a British line
  • Consistency: one U.S. address for the whole evening, not a new one at every visit
  • Clarity: if Starz refuses, its message concerns the address, and USip support can look into it

If one episode keeps playing for a minute in a fresh private window, the connection side is settled for that session.

What it cannot change

  • Starz’s decision: Starz can refuse any connection, USip’s included
  • The U.S. city or state: USip assigns the address, and it is not yours to pick
  • What Starz offers, when its episodes appear and which titles it carries
  • Your App Store or Google Play country, which follows your account rather than your connection

Two attempts are enough. If both fail, write down Starz’s wording and stop there.

Ten minutes, one laptop, a subscription you already have

Checking Starz from the UK in four steps

Start on a laptop. A browser shows everything on one screen and keeps app stores out of the picture until you know whether Starz accepts the address at all.

1

Connect, then read both address lines

Set up USip on the laptop with the Windows guide or the Mac guide, connect in OpenVPN Connect and open an IP address checker. The IPv4 result has to say United States. Some British lines also show an IPv6 result, and that one must not name a UK provider such as BT, Sky, Virgin Media, TalkTalk, EE, Vodafone, Three or O2. If it does, part of your traffic is still leaving the British way.

2

Open starz.com in a fresh private window

A private window starts without cookies or saved sign-ins, so nothing from an earlier visit on your British line comes with you. Close any other Starz tabs first.

3

Play one episode for a minute

With a Starz subscription you already have, sign in where you took it out: on starz.com for a direct account, or in the Prime Video app if you added Starz as an Amazon channel in the U.S. Start one episode and let it run for a full minute. Without a subscription, only check that starz.com opens its U.S. home page.

4

Read the result, then stop

An episode that keeps playing means Starz accepted the address for now. An error, or a message about where you are, means it did not. Write the message down word for word, reconnect once and try one more time in a fresh private window. If the same message returns, send its exact wording to USip support instead of trying again and again.

Note the time as well as the wording; support can do more with both. USip keeps its own dated checks for several services on a separate page, USip’s published checks. Those entries record other dates and other connections, so read them as background, not as a forecast for your line. Starz can refuse any connection whatever happened elsewhere.

Laptop first, phone second, television last

Starz on each device, from the UK

USip recorded its four Starz videos in September 2021. They show Starz’s 2021 screens and an old sign-up, and the phone videos switch the App Store or Google Play country. The USip connection steps still apply. The store switch and the sign-up are out of date, so leave those parts out.

Windows
Windows

Windows: start in the browser

Install OpenVPN Connect, import the USip profile and connect, and only then open the browser and go to starz.com in a private window. No app store is involved, which makes a Windows laptop the easiest place to begin from Britain.

The connection part of the video still matches today. Starz’s pages in it date from 2021 and the sign-up shown is out of date, so skip it.

Step by step: the Windows setup guide.

macOS
macOS

macOS: Safari or Chrome, and a look at IPv6

The order is the same on a Mac: OpenVPN Connect with the USip profile first, then starz.com in a private window in Safari or Chrome.

Look at both lines on the address checker before judging anything: a British IPv6 address next to a U.S. IPv4 one spoils the check. The 2021 Starz screens and sign-up in the video are out of date.

Step by step: the Mac setup guide.

Android
Android

Android: skip the video’s Play Store step

The Android recording moves the phone’s Google Play country to the U.S. so that the STARZ app can be installed. Google Play Help now says “To set up a new country or region, you must be in that location”, and that you “must wait at least 90 days” between changes. For someone living in Britain, that part of the video no longer applies.

If the STARZ app is already on the phone from a U.S. account, connect OpenVPN Connect first and then open the app. If it is not, begin on the laptop instead.

Step by step: the Android setup guide.

iPhone and iPad
iPhone and iPad

iPhone and iPad: no STARZ app in the UK App Store

The iPhone video switches the App Store to the U.S., but on 10 October 2026 the UK store did not list the STARZ app, and Apple sets its own conditions for changing an Apple Account’s country or region. Read Apple’s help page before thinking about it.

If the app is already installed from a U.S. account, bring OpenVPN Connect up before you open it. The sign-up screens in the 2021 video are out of date.

Step by step: the iOS setup guide.

Televisions, streaming sticks and games consoles cannot run OpenVPN Connect, so USip offers Smart DNS for them. Register your home’s public IP address with USip, then enter the DNS details in the device’s network settings, or once on the router so that every device behind it uses them. If your provider changes that public address, register the new one. The Smart DNS guide has the steps.

We have not checked which British TV app stores list the STARZ app; the platforms Starz names are in the app-store section below. MGM+, the UK route for most Starz series, is watched in the Prime Video app. Set up a television only once the laptop check works.

Stores follow your account, not your connection

UK app stores and the STARZ app

On 10 October 2026 Apple listed the STARZ app, published by Starz Entertainment, in its U.S. App Store and not in the UK one. We did not check Google Play country by country, so this page makes no claim about it either way.

Apple, UK

No STARZ app in the UK App Store

Checked on 10 October 2026: listed in the U.S. store; not listed for the UK, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Sweden, Brazil or Canada.

Apple Account

The store follows the account

Which App Store you see depends on the country or region set on your Apple Account. Apple’s help page explains what a change involves; read it before deciding anything.

Google Play

Be in the country, then wait 90 days

Google Play Help links a new Play country to being physically there and allows a change only once every 90 days. The Play Store part of the 2021 Android video does not fit someone in Britain.

The browser

Why starz.com comes first

A browser needs no store at all. starz.com in a private window shows whether Starz takes the address before any account setting comes into it.

Televisions

The platforms Starz names

Starz’s help pages name Apple TV, Android TV, Roku, Samsung TV, Xbox and Amazon Fire TV. We have not checked which British TV stores list the STARZ app, so we make no claim.

Old advice

No made-up details, no unofficial stores

Some older guides suggested invented U.S. addresses, ZIP codes, gift vouchers or unofficial app stores. USip recommends none of them.

Two separate gates are involved. The app stores look at the country on your Apple or Google account. Starz looks at the address your connection presents. USip touches only the second gate.

UK law on VPN software, October 2026

Two questions often get mixed together: may you use VPN software in Britain, and will Starz accept a particular connection? The first is a matter of law, and below is what we found. The second is Starz’s call every time.

UK law

No ban on VPN software that we found

We have not found a UK law that bans VPN software as such. This is not legal advice and we are not lawyers; a solicitor can advise on your own situation.

Parliament, 15 July 2026

The government will not ban or age-gate VPNs

In a written statement on children’s safety online, the Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology said: “VPNs have legitimate privacy and security uses and we will therefore not age-gate or ban them.”

Earlier in 2026

A debate about children and VPNs

In January 2026 the House of Lords voted for an amendment to the government’s children’s wellbeing and schools legislation, calling for rules to keep VPN services from children (Tom’s Guide, 23 January 2026). We could not confirm what became of it; the July statement is the latest government position we found.

Other people’s networks

Rules set by whoever runs the network

Employers, universities and hotels can set rules for their own networks and equipment. Check them before running VPN software there.

The same July statement said the government had asked for research into how online services might detect and prevent VPN use, as part of its work on children’s safety rather than streaming. Whether Starz accepts a connection is a separate matter, and Starz decides it, residential U.S. IP or not.

What people in the UK ask

Starz in the UK — FAQ

Short answers, each based on the sources on this page as they stood on 10 October 2026. Where we could not confirm something, the answer says so.

Is Starz available in the UK?

Not as a British service. Starz’s Google Play listing says: “STARZ online services are only accessible through participating partners in the U.S. and certain U.S. territories”. On 10 October 2026 the STARZ app was in Apple’s U.S. App Store only. Starz’s own standalone service here, Lionsgate+, closed on 29 February 2024, and its best-known series are now on MGM+ in Prime Video. The Lionsgate+ channel in Prime Video today is Lionsgate’s, not Starz’s. Starz itself needs a connection it reads as American, and Starz decides whether to accept it.

Why did Starz’s own Lionsgate+ service close in the UK?

STARZPLAY had operated in the UK since 2018 and was renamed Lionsgate+ in September 2022. In November 2023 Starz said it would pull out of the UK and Australia. The standalone service closed on 29 February 2024, with subscriptions cancelled automatically, and in April 2024 Amazon announced that the Starz and Lionsgate series would move to MGM+ in the UK. The name itself survives: in 2026 Lionsgate’s own page lists the UK for Lionsgate+, now a Lionsgate add-on channel in Prime Video, separate from Starz.

Where can I watch Outlander in the UK?

On MGM+, Amazon’s add-on channel in Prime Video, which Amazon named the exclusive UK home of the complete Outlander franchise in April 2024. The final season premiered on Starz in the U.S. on 6 March 2026, and UK episodes followed on MGM+ about a day later (The Scotsman). Catalogues change, so check the Prime Video app; this was checked on 10 October 2026.

When is Outlander: Blood of My Blood season 2 on in the UK?

It began on MGM+ on Saturday 19 September 2026, streaming only there in the UK (The Scotsman and Advanced Television, both 2 June 2026). The U.S. premiere on Starz was on Friday 18 September 2026, a day earlier. Season one is on MGM+ as well.

Where are the Power series in the UK?

On MGM+, as far as we could confirm. Power, Ghost, Raising Kanan and Force were all in MGM+’s UK line-up when it relaunched on 20 May 2024; for Raising Kanan’s final season we found only a streaming guide, Reelgood (7 August 2026), listing it there, which we could not confirm with Amazon. Netflix is due to follow: TheWrap reported on 27 July 2026 that the four will reach Netflix outside the U.S. and Canada from November, under a non-exclusive deal with Lionsgate Television. The UK is not among the exclusions; the deal starts in November, and we found no UK date.

Is the STARZ app in the UK App Store?

No. On 10 October 2026 Apple listed the STARZ app in its U.S. App Store and not in the UK one. Your store follows the country or region of your Apple Account, and Apple sets the conditions for changing it. We did not check Google Play country by country. starz.com in a laptop browser needs no app store, which is why this guide starts there.

Can I watch Starz in the UK with a residential US IP?

Possibly, but nobody can promise it. A residential U.S. IP gives Starz an ordinary American household address to read instead of your British one. Starz decides which connections it accepts and can refuse any of them, USip’s included. To find out, run the ten-minute laptop check on this page: starz.com in a private window and one episode in a Starz subscription you already have.

Does USip include a Starz subscription?

No. USip and Starz are separate services. USip provides one residential U.S. IP address for the devices you connect. It does not come with a Starz account, a Starz subscription or the rights to any series, and because USip assigns the address, you do not choose the U.S. city or state. Starz sets its own rules and can refuse any connection, USip’s included.

How many devices can stream Starz at once?

Four. Starz Help says: “You can stream on up to 4 different devices at once.” A fifth stream at the same moment brings up an error in the app. Those are Starz’s rules and they apply wherever you watch from. In the UK, MGM+ is a different service inside Prime Video, and its limits are set by Amazon, not by Starz.

Can I watch Starz on my TV in the UK?

Starz’s help pages name Apple TV, Android TV, Roku, Samsung TV, Xbox and Amazon Fire TV for the STARZ app; we have not checked which UK TV app stores list it. A television cannot run OpenVPN Connect, so USip’s route for TVs is Smart DNS: register your home’s public IP address with USip, then enter the DNS details on the TV or once on the router. Get the laptop check working first.

When do new Starz episodes come out in UK time?

In the U.S., new episodes usually appear in the STARZ app at midnight Eastern Time on release day, sometimes the next day. On a Friday that is 5 a.m. in London for most of the year, and 4 a.m. on 30 October 2026 and on 19 and 26 March 2027. For the series on MGM+ in the UK, the episodes we found arrived on Saturdays, about a day after the U.S.

Is it legal to use a VPN in the UK?

We have not found a UK law that bans VPN software as such. In a written statement to Parliament on 15 July 2026, the government said VPNs “have legitimate privacy and security uses” and that it would not age-gate or ban them. This is not legal advice; we are not lawyers. Employers, universities and hotels can set rules for their own networks. Whether Starz accepts a connection is Starz’s decision.

Is MGM+ the same as Starz?

No. MGM+ is Amazon’s service; in the UK it is an add-on channel in Prime Video that shows many Starz series under a deal announced in April 2024. Starz is a separate U.S. company with its own app and website, and it has no UK service.

Look in Prime Video first, then try a browser tab

For Outlander, Blood of My Blood, Spartacus: House of Ashur and the Power series, Britain has a legal home: MGM+ in Prime Video, which for the premieres we found ran about a day behind the U.S. For many readers that settles it, with nothing to set up.

If what you want is Starz itself, with its app, its website and American release times, start with a laptop, a private window and one episode in a subscription you already have. Starz decides which connections it accepts and can refuse any of them, so read the result as Starz’s answer for that session. USip’s part is the residential U.S. IP; everything else is up to Starz.

USip supplies the residential U.S. IP connection only. Starz is run by a separate company that alone decides its service, its catalogue and which connections it accepts.
