A company of its own
Starz completed its separation from Lionsgate on 7 May 2025 and trades on Nasdaq as STRZ. The same release put its subscriber base at about 20 million in the U.S. and Canada at the end of 2024.

How to Watch Starz in the Netherlands
Short answer: Starz has no Dutch service. Its own Google Play listing says: “STARZ online services are only accessible through participating partners in the U.S. and certain U.S. territories”. On 10 October 2026 Apple listed the STARZ app in its U.S. App Store and not in the Dutch one. Starz’s international arm did reach the Netherlands, first as STARZPLAY and then as Lionsgate+, but its exit from the Benelux was announced in November 2022, and in April 2023 Amazon said it would move the service’s Prime Video subscribers here to MGM+. We could not confirm the exact last day.
Several Starz series are on Dutch screens already. Ziggo’s Outlander page puts the first seven seasons on Netflix and the eighth and final one on Ziggo Movies & Series, weekly from Monday 9 March 2026. The prequel, Outlander: Blood of My Blood, streams on HBO Max, where season two has come out each Saturday since 19 September 2026. For the Power series, P-Valley, BMF and Spartacus: House of Ashur we could not confirm a Dutch home on 10 October 2026, although TheWrap reported in July that all four Power series are due on Netflix internationally from November, with no Dutch date given.
If you already hold a Starz subscription, from time in the U.S. or through an American Amazon account, keep the first attempt small: one laptop browser, USip’s residential U.S. IP, starz.com and a single episode. Whether Starz accepts that connection is up to Starz, which may turn down any address, ours included.

Look at Dutch services before anything American. On 10 October 2026 we read Ziggo’s pages for Outlander, its prequel and Spartacus: House of Ashur, FilmVandaag’s Outlander page and the dated reports named below. Each row gives the Dutch home we could confirm, or says plainly that we could not.

Outlander is the easy case. Every season of the main series has a Dutch home, just not the same one: Netflix for the first seven, Ziggo’s premium channel for the last. The Dutch dates trail the American ones by days, not months. The final season reached Ziggo three days after Starz, and the prequel’s second season reached HBO Max one day after.
The Power series, P-Valley and BMF are the hard cases. They used to reach Dutch viewers through Starz’s own international service and, from 2023, through Amazon’s MGM+. We found no current Dutch page for any of them, so we say so instead of guessing. Power has the clearest prospect: if TheWrap’s July report holds, Netflix starts showing the four series internationally in November, but we found no Dutch date. Whatever turns up on Netflix, Prime Video or another Dutch service is the simpler route, and it needs nothing from USip.
Catalogues change. Every row records what a page said when we read it on 10 October 2026. Netflix, HBO Max, Ziggo and Prime Video add and remove series with little warning, so look at the service itself before you plan an evening around a date.

How Starz’s own service arrived in the Netherlands and left again, 2020 to 2023
Starz’s international arm reached Dutch homes under two names and through several partners. The dates below come from the companies’ own releases and from dated Dutch and trade reports.

The plain summary: Starz’s own international service is gone from the Netherlands, and nothing on this page claims otherwise. Its shows went separate ways. XGN noted on 1 March 2022 that Outlander was missing from the Dutch STARZPLAY site even then, and the series has stayed with Netflix and Ziggo. The Power series and BMF were named for Amazon’s MGM+ in 2023.
The Lionsgate+ channel listed in 2026 belongs to Lionsgate, a separate company from Starz, and we could not confirm which Starz series, if any, it carries for Dutch viewers. Do not assume Outlander or Power is there until you have seen the channel’s own line-up.

Six facts from Starz’s own listing, help pages and press release explain what a Dutch reader is actually dealing with.

Its own app and website
The STARZ app and starz.com are the direct route. The Google Play listing says people without a TV package can create an account inside the app and start watching.
TV providers
Through an American TV package
The same listing lets customers of participating U.S. TV providers watch through their TV subscription. Those are American pay TV companies, not Ziggo or KPN.
Amazon
Starz as a Prime Video channel
Starz Help describes two Amazon routes: the Starz add-on inside Prime Video, watched in the Prime Video app, and the STARZ app on Fire TV and Kindle. An Amazon Channels sign-in does not open the STARZ app.
Up to 4
Streams at the same time
Starz Help: “You can stream on up to 4 different devices at once.” Starz also limits how many devices one account can register, and asks you to remove one when you reach the limit.
Offline
Downloads in the app
The Google Play listing mentions offline viewing through downloads. Whether downloads keep playing outside the U.S. is something we could not confirm.
For someone in Utrecht or Groningen the upshot is short. Starz is built around American customers and American partners, and its app is missing from the Dutch App Store. Starz Help also mentions a live stream on its website, which naturally keeps American hours. If you hold a Starz subscription already, the check further down shows whether Starz accepts a residential U.S. IP from here. If you do not, start with the Dutch services in the first table.

When new Starz episodes appear, in Dutch time
Starz usually puts a new episode on its app at midnight Eastern Time on the release day; Parade reported that timing for Outlander’s final season, and some series arrive on the app a day later. For most of the year that midnight is 06:00 on the same morning in Amsterdam.

The U.S. leaves summer time and the six-hour gap returns. From Friday 6 November a midnight release lands at 06:00 again, and it stays there all winter.

American clocks go forward first. On Friday 19 and Friday 26 March 2027 a midnight Eastern release reaches Amsterdam at 05:00.

Europe moves to summer time and the gap is six hours once more: midnight in New York is 06:00 in Amsterdam from then on.
Dutch release days
Dutch services set their own days, so nothing needs converting. Ziggo Movies & Series ran Outlander’s last season on Mondays, and HBO Max adds Blood of My Blood on Saturdays, a day after Starz.
Live hours
Anything live on the Starz website follows the U.S. schedule. An American evening falls in the Dutch small hours, so on-demand episodes are the practical choice.

Fibre, cable and mobile lines in the Netherlands, and what Starz sees from them
Whichever Dutch provider you use, Starz first sees a public internet address registered to that provider in the Netherlands. That address alone places you outside the area in Starz’s own line at the top of this page.

A faster line changes nothing here. ACM counted 3.49 million fibre internet subscriptions in the first quarter of 2026, yet a fibre line in Zwolle looks just as Dutch to Starz as an old copper one in Venlo. Only the kind of address counts.
Watch for IPv6. Many Dutch lines give a laptop two addresses, one IPv4 and one IPv6. When the U.S. connection carries only the IPv4 traffic, the IPv6 address can still tell a website that you are on Ziggo or KPN. Step 1 of the check reads both for exactly that reason.
ACM gives market shares as bands, not exact percentages. The bands above come from its Telecommonitor for the fourth quarter of 2025, published on 31 March 2026. The edition for the first quarter of 2026, published on 7 July 2026, repeats the mobile lead of KPN and Odido but gives no broadband shares. We found no later edition on 10 October 2026.

Several tools can make an address checker say “United States”. They differ in the kind of address that actually reaches Starz, and that difference is what to compare.

Checking Starz from the Netherlands in four steps
Start on a laptop, where the address and the player sit on one screen. Each step removes one possible cause, so whatever happens at the end has a single explanation.
Connect and read both address lines
Connect USip in OpenVPN Connect on your Windows PC or Mac, then open an address checker. The IPv4 line must show the United States. If an IPv6 line appears, it must not name KPN, Ziggo, Odido, DELTA or your mobile provider; if it does, your Dutch line is still visible, so sort that first.
starz.com in a fresh private window
Open a new private window and go to starz.com. A private window carries no cookies from earlier visits on your Dutch address. Leave other streaming tabs closed for now.
One episode, where you subscribed
With a Starz subscription you already hold, sign in where you took it out: on starz.com for a direct account, or in Prime Video for the Starz channel on Amazon. Play one episode for a full minute. Without a subscription, only check that starz.com shows its U.S. home page.
Read the result, then stop
A picture that keeps moving means Starz accepted the connection this time. An error or a message about your location means it did not: copy the exact words, reconnect USip once and make one more attempt. If the same words return, send them to USip support rather than retrying again and again.
One good evening promises nothing about the next. Starz alone decides which connections it takes, and it can say no to any of them, USip’s too. USip keeps its own dated record on a separate page, USip’s published checks; this guide neither quotes nor summarises it.

Laptop first, phone second, television last
Starz on a Windows PC, a Mac, an Android phone and an iPhone
USip recorded these four videos in September 2021. Their USip half still holds: install OpenVPN Connect, import the USip profile, connect. The Starz screens in them are from 2021, the phone videos switch the App Store or Google Play country, and all four show an old sign-up. Skip those parts.
Windows
Windows: browser first, in a private window
Follow the video for OpenVPN Connect, then open starz.com in a private browser window. The 2021 Starz pages and the sign-up shown in the recording are out of date, so leave them out. A work laptop running its own company VPN muddles everything; use your own computer instead.

macOS
macOS: two settings before Safari
The USip steps in the Mac video still apply. Before you trust a result, check two things: iCloud Private Relay, which routes Safari through Apple’s relays, so switch it off for the check; and the IPv6 line on the address checker, which a Dutch home line may fill too. The Starz screens and sign-up in the video date from 2021.

Android
Android: OpenVPN Connect yes, store switch no
Use the Android video for installing OpenVPN Connect and importing the profile. Skip the part where it changes the phone’s Google Play country: Google Play Help says a new country can only be set up while you are there, with at least 90 days before the next change. Exempt OpenVPN Connect from battery saving. We could not check Google Play country by country, so we make no claim about the Dutch Play Store.

iPhone and iPad: no STARZ app in the Dutch store
Keep the connection steps from the iPhone video and ignore its App Store switch and sign-up. On 10 October 2026 the STARZ app was missing from the Dutch App Store, and moving an Apple Account to another country follows Apple’s own conditions, on the support page in our sources. Do the laptop check before you think about the phone.

TVs, streaming sticks and consoles have no room for OpenVPN Connect. For them USip uses Smart DNS: register your home’s public IP address with USip, then type the DNS details into the device’s network settings, or once into the router so every device behind it uses them. If your provider later hands your home a different public address, register that one.
Starz Help has TV sign-in guides for Apple TV, Android TV, Roku, Samsung TV and Xbox, and its Amazon page covers Fire TV. Whether the Dutch stores on those platforms offer the STARZ app is something we did not check. All four videos date from September 2021: Starz’s screens have changed since, and their store-switching and sign-up parts no longer apply.

We looked up the STARZ app, id550221096, in Apple’s stores on 10 October 2026. Only the U.S. store listed it. The Dutch store did not, and neither did those of the UK, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Brazil or Canada.

Apple publishes its own conditions for moving an Apple Account to another country or region. They apply to the whole account rather than to one app, so read them first.

We had no way to inspect the Dutch Play Store, so we make no claim about it. Google’s rule is that you must be in a country to set it up, then wait at least 90 days before changing again.

A laptop browser involves no app store and no account country, which is why the check on this page begins there.

The government’s security centre recommends one on public Wi-Fi
The National Cyber Security Centre, part of the Ministry of Justice and Security, advises a VPN on public hotspots and explains: “Een VPN-verbinding is versleuteld.” In other words, the connection is encrypted, so others cannot read your traffic.

When did STARZPLAY and Lionsgate+ close in the Netherlands?
STARZPLAY reached Dutch viewers through Amazon’s Prime Video Channels from November 2020 and through Viaplay from 1 March 2022, and was renamed Lionsgate+ in 2022. In November 2022 Lionsgate said it would pull the service out of the Benelux and six other markets. In April 2023 Amazon said Lionsgate+ subscribers on Prime Video Channels here would move to its MGM+ channel. We could not confirm the exact last day of the Dutch service.
Where can I watch Outlander in the Netherlands?
On Dutch services. Ziggo’s Outlander page, updated on 9 March 2026, says the first seven seasons are on Netflix and the eighth, final season ran weekly on Ziggo Movies & Series from 9 March 2026, three days after its U.S. premiere. The U.S. and Canada are the only countries the report says are excluded, and it gives no Dutch date. Check Netflix itself from November. Earlier, in April 2023, Amazon had named the franchise for MGM+, the Prime Video channel it was launching here.
Is the Lionsgate+ channel on Amazon a separate service from Starz?
Yes. Lionsgate’s own page, read on 10 October 2026, lists the Netherlands among 18 countries for its Lionsgate+ add-on channel on Amazon Prime Video, a business separate from Starz since 7 May 2025. The page itself warns that the line-up can differ from one country to another. We could not confirm which Starz series, if any, the channel carries here, so look at its line-up before assuming Outlander or Power is on it.
Is the STARZ app in the Dutch App Store?
No, not when we looked on 10 October 2026. Apple’s lookup listed the STARZ app (id550221096) in the U.S. store only, and not in the Dutch store or the eight other non-U.S. stores we checked. We could not inspect Google Play country by country, so we say nothing about the Dutch Play Store. Stores follow your account’s country, and Apple and Google set their own rules for changing it; a laptop browser avoids the question.
Can I watch Starz in the Netherlands with a residential US IP?
Possibly, but nobody can promise it. USip supplies one residential U.S. IP, an ordinary household address on an American internet provider. Starz then sees a U.S. address instead of your Dutch one, yet it decides for itself which connections to accept and can refuse any, USip’s included. You also need a Starz subscription of your own. Try one episode in a laptop browser first and judge by what Starz shows you.
Does USip include a Starz subscription?
No. A USip plan covers the connection only: one residential U.S. IP address, used through OpenVPN Connect on computers and phones or Smart DNS on a television. Your Starz account, the route you subscribed through, whether Starz directly, a U.S. TV provider or Amazon, and the series in its catalogue all belong to Starz and its partners. Starz can turn down USip’s connection like any other.
How many devices can stream Starz at once?
Starz Help says: “You can stream on up to 4 different devices at once.” The same page warns that going past that limit causes an error in the app, and Starz also caps the number of devices registered to one account, asking you to remove one when you reach it. Those limits belong to your Starz account. A residential U.S. IP neither raises nor lowers them.
Can I watch Starz on my TV in the Netherlands?
Do the laptop check first. TVs, sticks and consoles cannot run OpenVPN Connect, so USip connects them through Smart DNS: register your home’s public IP address with USip, then enter the DNS details on the device or once on the router. Starz Help names Apple TV, Android TV, Roku, Samsung TV, Xbox and Fire TV, but we did not check whether the Dutch stores on those platforms offer the STARZ app.
When do new Starz episodes come out in Dutch time?
Starz usually adds a new episode to its app at midnight Eastern Time on the release day, sometimes a day later. In Amsterdam that is 06:00 the same morning for most of the year, and 05:00 from 25 to 31 October 2026 and from 14 to 27 March 2027, when only one side has changed its clocks. Dutch services keep their own days: Outlander’s last season ran on Mondays on Ziggo, and Blood of My Blood arrives on Saturdays on HBO Max.
Is it legal to use a VPN in the Netherlands?
We have not found a Dutch law that bans VPN software as such, and the government’s National Cyber Security Centre recommends a VPN on public Wi-Fi because the connection is encrypted. Other rules still apply to what you watch, download or share over any connection. We are not lawyers and this is not legal advice; if something real depends on it, ask a qualified Dutch adviser.

Dutch services first, then one Starz episode on a laptop
For Outlander, begin with what the Netherlands already offers: Netflix for seasons one to seven, Ziggo Movies & Series for the final season and HBO Max for Blood of My Blood. None of that needs a U.S. address. For the Power series, P-Valley, BMF and Spartacus: House of Ashur we could not confirm a Dutch home, so search the Dutch services before anything else.
