Funded by advertising
Tubi’s help centre is brief about it: “Tubi is free, but it’s supported by advertising.” Ad breaks are the trade-off, and there is no Tubi plan to sort out before the first title.
Short answer: Tubi does not name Ireland. Its help page for viewers abroad begins “If you’re located outside the United States, you can watch Tubi on the following devices:” and goes on to Canada, Australia, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Panama and the United Kingdom. That is the whole list. When we looked on 11 October 2026, the Tubi app was not in the Irish App Store either.
Ireland is well served for free, legal television without it. The broadcasters stream on RTÉ Player, TG4 Player and Virgin Media Play, Saorview sends free-to-air channels to a roof aerial, and Samsung TV Plus is built into Samsung sets and Galaxy phones. None of these shows Tubi’s catalogue, and none needs USip.
For Tubi’s U.S. catalogue itself, the first step is a ten-minute check that needs no account: a laptop, USip’s residential U.S. IP switched on, tubitv.com in a private window, and one free title played as a guest. Whether the stream starts is Tubi’s decision, and this page makes no promise about it.

Plenty is free and legal here without a pay-TV package. On 11 October 2026 we read each service’s own pages, or the description it publishes in Apple’s App Store. Where a page refused to load, the table says so.
| Service | What it is | How you watch, and whether you sign in |
|---|---|---|
| RTÉ Player | RTÉ’s streaming player. Its App Store description lists RTÉ One, RTÉ2, RTÉ News and RTÉ Kids as channels to switch between, with programmes on demand as well. | Browser or app; Apple lists the app as free. RTÉ describes signing in as the way to resume a show on another device. Its help pages did not load for us, so we could not confirm whether any programme requires an account. |
| TG4 Player | The Irish-language broadcaster’s player, with live streams “where rights permit” and optional subtitles. | Browser, iPhone app or Android app. TG4’s FAQ, updated on 8 May 2026, never mentions an account. Most programmes “should be available worldwide”; some are rights-restricted. |
| Virgin Media Play | Virgin Media Television’s player, relaunched under this name in 2024. The app’s description promises all of the broadcaster’s channels in one place. | With a free Virgin Media Play account: the app’s release notes ask for one if you want to keep streaming. |
| Saorview | Ireland’s free-to-air national digital TV service, transmitted by 2RN. | No app at all: a UHF aerial plus a Saorview Approved TV or box, as Saorview puts it. |
| Samsung TV Plus | Free channels from Samsung, with a page of their own on Samsung’s Irish website. | Built into Samsung Smart TVs, and into Galaxy phones and tablets on Android 8.0 or later. On accounts the Irish page contradicts itself: one answer says no Samsung account is needed, while a footnote says one is required. |
| Pluto TV | Paramount’s free streaming service, which has national versions elsewhere in Europe. | Nothing for Ireland: no Irish version, and no app in the Irish App Store when USip looked on 6 October 2026. |
None of these is Tubi or carries its catalogue. The broadcasters’ players and Saorview offer Irish television, in Irish and English, licensed for viewers here and scheduled on Irish time.
TG4’s FAQ is a reminder that broadcast rights often stop at the border. For restricted programmes it warns: “If viewing on a browser, you need to ensure your IP address is registered in Ireland”. Tubi licenses territory by territory in just the same way. So switch USip off before opening an Irish player; while it is on, the player is looking at a U.S. address.
LG Channels and Rakuten TV’s free channels are left out: we found no first-party page confirming either for Ireland.
Catalogues, line-ups and sign-in rules change without notice. The table reflects what we read on 11 October 2026, except the Pluto TV row, which rests on USip’s App Store look-up of 6 October 2026. RTÉ, TG4, Virgin Media Television, 2RN and Samsung are separate companies from Tubi and from USip.

We found no reason given by Tubi for leaving Ireland out. These are the facts that can be checked, each with its source.
| Question | Finding | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Does Tubi list Ireland? | No. Its list has ten places. The United Kingdom is one, and Northern Ireland belongs to the UK; this guide covers the Republic. | Tubi Help Center, “Supported Devices Outside of the US”, read 11 October 2026 |
| Is the app in the Irish App Store? | No. “Tubi: Movies & Live TV” (Tubi, Inc) appeared in the U.S., UK, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand, Mexican and Puerto Rican stores, not the Irish one. | Apple’s App Store, looked up by USip on 11 October 2026 |
| Was Tubi ever in the EU? | Reports say it became unavailable across the EU in 2018, when the GDPR privacy rules came in. That covered Ireland, an EU member. | Cord Busters (2 December 2023, updated 2 July 2024) and Presse-citron citing Variety (15 July 2024); no Tubi statement found |
| What happened in the UK? | A launch in July 2024. By July 2026 Tubi said it had “tripled its content offering to over 75,000 movies and TV episodes”. | Tubi press release, 22 July 2026 |
| How are titles licensed? | Territory by territory. Deals with NBCUniversal and Sony Pictures cover more than 450 library titles “across Australia, Canada and the U.K.”, and not Ireland. | Tubi press release, 26 August 2026 |
| How big is Tubi’s library? | “Nearly 400,000 movies and TV episodes”, by Tubi’s own count. | Tubi press release, 23 September 2026 |
The findings line up. Tubi’s 2018 exit from the EU included Ireland. Its return to Europe in July 2024 was a British launch, and Presse-citron noted then that other European countries would not follow straight away. Its licensing deals of August 2026 name three territories, and Ireland is not one.
Nor does the UK service extend to the Republic. It is a separate catalogue licensed for the United Kingdom, and a residential U.S. IP has no bearing on it.

Tubi is a free, ad-supported U.S. streaming service owned by Fox. Six points from its own help pages and press releases, read on 11 October 2026, cover what matters from Ireland.
Tubi’s help centre is brief about it: “Tubi is free, but it’s supported by advertising.” Ad breaks are the trade-off, and there is no Tubi plan to sort out before the first title.
To the question of whether newcomers must set up multiple accounts, Tubi’s answer is: “No. You can still continue watching as a guest or register a single Tubi Account.” The check on this page relies on that.
Registering is optional, and Tubi adds: “Tubi Accounts are for individuals who meet local age requirements, such as 13 or older in the United States.” Kids Mode, its section for children, needs no sign-in.
On 17 March 2020 Fox Corporation announced that it would acquire Tubi. The service, started in San Francisco in 2014, belongs to Tubi Media Group, a division of Fox.
Tubi’s figures of 6 August 2026: 110 million monthly active users, 14% more than a year before, and over 375,000 movies and TV episodes, among them more than 400 Tubi Originals and 25,000 creator episodes. Nielsen measured Tubi at 2.3% of U.S. TV viewing in April 2026.
Back in October 2022 Tubi counted over 200 live sports, entertainment and news channels. Its September 2026 release calls the NFL Channel “the NFL’s 24/7 free, always-on channel” and adds the Cowboys v Eagles game at Thanksgiving, without saying whether that game can be watched outside the U.S.
From Ireland, two points count most. Guest viewing keeps accounts out of the first check, so the outcome reflects the connection alone. And there is no Irish Tubi catalogue to set any of these figures against.

On-demand titles play whenever you like. Tubi’s live channels and events keep U.S. hours, and Irish and American clocks change on different Sundays. That leaves two short gaps: one week from 25 October 2026 and two weeks from 14 March 2027. We worked out the times on 11 October 2026 with Python’s zoneinfo module (time-zone data 2026c).
| U.S. time | Dublin, usual weeks | Dublin, gap weeks |
|---|---|---|
| 8 p.m. Eastern, U.S. prime time | 1 a.m., next day | Midnight |
| 8 p.m. Pacific, prime time in Los Angeles | 4 a.m., next day | 3 a.m., next day |
| 9 a.m. Eastern, morning in New York | 2 p.m. | 1 p.m. |
| 3 p.m. Eastern, afternoon in New York | 8 p.m. | 7 p.m. |
| Thursday 26 November 2026, 4:30 p.m. Eastern: the Thanksgiving game | 9:30 p.m. that Thursday | Not a gap week |
Films and series start when you press play. Only live channels and events follow the American clock.
East Coast prime time reaches Dublin at 1 a.m. in a normal week; Los Angeles prime time turns up at 4 a.m.
Irish clocks fall back an hour on Sunday 25 October, a week before America’s on Sunday 1 November. That week, prime time begins at midnight here.
U.S. clocks go forward on Sunday 14 March, Irish ones on Sunday 28 March. For that fortnight U.S. evenings arrive an hour early.
Cowboys v Eagles is set for 4:30 p.m. ET on Thursday 26 November. Tubi’s release does not say whether it can be watched outside the U.S., so the time is arithmetic, not a promise.
Bring USip up before you load tubitv.com and keep it up until you finish. If it drops mid-programme, the address Tubi sees changes, which can stop the stream.

ComReg, the communications regulator, published its Quarterly Key Data Report (Q2 2026, Information Notice 26/59) on 3 September 2026, and it was the newest we found on 11 October 2026. The shares below come from it. Every one of these networks gives your connection a public address outside the U.S.
| Provider | Share of fixed broadband lines | Share of mobile connections |
|---|---|---|
| eir | 28.3% | 24.9% |
| Vodafone | 20.7% | 31.8% |
| Virgin Media (Virgin Mobile for mobile) | 19.4% | 2.5% |
| Sky Ireland | 15.6% | — |
| Three | — | 27.7% |
| Tesco Mobile | — | 8.1% |
| Lyca | — | 2.5% |
| Pure Telecom | 2.5% | — |
| Digiweb | 2.2% | — |
| Starlink, by satellite | 2.1% | — |
ComReg counted 1,789,356 fixed broadband lines in all, 38,181 of them by satellite. Its mobile shares exclude mobile broadband and machine-to-machine connections, and a dash means a provider is not among the shares quoted here. Whichever row is yours, Tubi sees an address outside the U.S., whether you connect by phone, hotspot, home router or Starlink dish. Office, college and hotel Wi-Fi is no different, and often adds limits of its own.
IPv6 deserves a moment. Some Irish lines issue an IPv6 address alongside the familiar IPv4 one. If USip carries the IPv4 traffic while the browser reaches a site over IPv6 through eir, Vodafone or Sky, that site sees the Irish address, even though an IPv4 checker shows an American one. Step 1 of the check below exists to catch this.
Line speed is seldom the problem. More than four in five fixed lines (82.6%) are on packages of at least 100 Mbps; 72.8% reach 500 Mbps and 27.3% a gigabit. With USip on, the traffic crosses the Atlantic twice, so measure speed with it connected. If a check fails on an office or college network, try once more on mobile data before deciding anything.

Tubi starts from the public address your traffic arrives from: which country it sits in, and what sort of network owns it. None of these four routes can make Tubi play. The table only shows what each one changes.
| Route | The address Tubi gets | The drawback | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your Irish line | Your provider’s Irish address | Ireland is not on Tubi’s list | The Irish players: RTÉ, TG4, Virgin Media |
| Free VPN apps | A server address that crowds of strangers share | Busy addresses that streaming services meet again and again | Nothing you would want to judge Tubi by |
| Data-centre VPN | A hosting company’s address | A data-centre address is easy for a service to recognise, even with the right country | Protecting data on public Wi-Fi, which is what Ireland’s National Cyber Security Centre recommends VPNs for |
| USip residential U.S. IP | A consumer IP address that USip assigns, from a U.S. internet provider | Tubi still has the final say on every connection, this one included | One stable U.S. address, so the outcome of the check means something |
One free title playing in a fresh private window settles the address question for that session.
After one careful retry, a refusal is Tubi’s answer for the day; pass its exact words to USip support.

Do this before involving a phone or a television. Because Tubi lets guests watch, nothing here depends on an account, a store or an app, only on the connection.
Follow USip’s Windows guide or Mac guide to set up the laptop, connect in OpenVPN Connect, and visit an IP address checker. IPv4 has to show an American address. If the checker also prints an IPv6 address, no Irish provider’s name should appear beside it: eir, Vodafone, Virgin Media, Sky or Three there means some traffic is still taking your own line.
Private browsing ignores the cookies saved during earlier visits from your Irish address. Stay signed out of everything; nothing in this check needs an account.
Choose any film or episode and let roughly a minute play, ad breaks included. As Tubi’s help centre puts it: “No. You can still continue watching as a guest or register a single Tubi Account.” With no account in the picture, the result concerns the connection and nothing more.
If the picture plays, Tubi has taken the address for now. If you get an error or a location message, note down its exact words, reconnect USip once and try a second time in a fresh private window. If the message is the same, pass those words to USip support. Ten further tries would only repeat it.
Tubi has the last word on every connection, USip’s included, so we promise no picture on any line. USip keeps its own record in one place, USip’s published checks, and this guide does not quote it or sum it up.

USip filmed the four videos below in November 2022. Tubi’s screens have changed since, but what the videos show about connecting USip is still right. Both phone videos go on to move the App Store or Google Play country to the U.S. with made-up U.S. details. That part is out of date: leave it out.

In the Windows video, the USip connection comes first and Tubi opens in an ordinary browser tab afterwards, still the most direct way to try Tubi from Ireland. With no app store in the way, any problem lies with the connection, the address or the browser’s stored cookies.
Avoid a work laptop that runs its employer’s VPN: two tunnels on one machine make the outcome hard to read.
Step by step: the Windows setup guide.

The Mac video keeps the same order, connection first and tubitv.com second. Two Mac features can steer traffic past USip. iCloud Private Relay, if enabled, sends Safari through Apple’s own relays; turn it off while you check, or open a different browser. And if the Mac picks up an IPv6 address from your Irish line, the checker’s IPv6 reading matters as much as the IPv4 one.
Step by step: the Mac setup guide.

In the Android video, the phone’s Google Play country is switched to the U.S. with invented details. Skip that section. Google’s rules make it a non-starter for anyone living in Ireland: “you must be in that location” to set up a new country, the help page says, and once changed you “must wait at least 90 days” to change again.
Google Play was outside our country-by-country look-up, so the Irish Play Store is an unknown here. With Tubi already installed, open OpenVPN Connect first and Tubi second, and exempt OpenVPN Connect from battery saving so it stays connected on mobile data.
Step by step: the Android setup guide.

When we looked on 11 October 2026, the Tubi app was not in the Irish App Store. The iPhone video uses made-up U.S. details to switch the store’s country, and that part is out of date, so skip it. Apple’s support site sets out what it requires before an account can move to another country, and the move affects everything on that account.
If the app is on the device already, connect in OpenVPN Connect first and open Tubi after, each time.
Step by step: the iOS setup guide.
For a television, a streaming stick or a games console, USip uses Smart DNS instead of OpenVPN Connect, which those devices cannot run. It takes three moves. First, give USip the public IP address your home connection uses. Next, put USip’s DNS details into the TV’s network menu, or into the router once to cover every device in the house. Last, if eir, Virgin Media or another provider changes your home’s public address, tell USip the new one. The Smart DNS guide has each step.
Smart DNS alters what Tubi sees from the TV. It cannot install the Tubi app on a set whose app store does not carry it in Ireland, and we could not confirm what Irish TV app stores list. Try the television only after a laptop has played something.

One residential U.S. IP — an ordinary consumer address on a U.S. ISP, not a server range. USip and Tubi are separate services: the plans include the connection only — not a Tubi account, an app-store region or the rights to any channel, series or film.
Separate services: these prices are for the USip residential U.S. IP service only. Tubi is a separate service, free with ads; a Tubi account and access to any particular channel, series or film are not part of a USip plan.
USip searched Apple’s App Store for Tubi in one country after another on 11 October 2026. Here is the result for Ireland, what was not checked, and why the laptop browser goes first.
When we looked on 11 October 2026, the Tubi app was not in the Irish App Store. Apple’s U.S., UK, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand, Mexican and Puerto Rican stores did list “Tubi: Movies & Live TV” from Tubi, Inc.
Your Apple Account’s country or region decides which App Store you get, wherever your connection points, so a residential U.S. IP leaves it as it is. Apple lists the conditions for changing that setting on its support site.
Our look-up covered Apple only, so we make no statement about the Irish Play Store either way. Google’s own rule for switching is strict: you must actually be in the country you switch to, and at least 90 days must pass between changes.
On a laptop browser there is no storefront and no account country to get in the way. It settles the first question by itself: will Tubi accept the address? The rest can wait.
For U.S. viewers Tubi’s device list includes Fire TV, Roku, Apple TV, Android TV, Chromecast, Samsung, LG, Vizio, Hisense, PlayStation and Xbox, among others. What the Irish editions of those TV stores offer, we could not confirm.
You will find no made-up addresses, borrowed U.S. postal codes or unofficial app stores in this guide. Apple and Google make their store rules; we go by them.

People ask two separate things here: is VPN software lawful in Ireland, and will Tubi take a connection through one? Irish sources speak to the first. Only Tubi answers the second.
Our search turned up no Irish law that outlaws VPN software in itself. That is a finding, not legal advice: we are not lawyers, and a solicitor is the person to ask if your own case depends on it.
In its small-business guidance, Ireland’s National Cyber Security Centre writes: “Make sure to enable firewalls on all devices and use VPN services to ensure secure communications.” That is security advice, not a view on streaming.
The Intellectual Property Office of Ireland explains that rights holders obtain court orders requiring internet providers to stop users reaching sites that offer unauthorised downloads of copyright material. Those orders deal with piracy. Tubi is a free, licensed U.S. service, and nothing in them makes it available in Ireland.
Whether Tubi takes a connection is up to Tubi. It may turn down any connection, USip’s residential U.S. IP included, and lawful software in Ireland does not oblige it to say yes.
House rules count too. Employers, colleges and hotels decide what may run on their networks and equipment, so check with them before using OpenVPN Connect on their laptop or Wi-Fi. How the law applies to your own situation is a question for someone qualified in Irish law.
Short answers, each standing on its own, from the sources on this page as read on 11 October 2026. Anything we could not confirm is marked as such.
No. Tubi’s page for viewers outside the U.S. lists Canada, Australia, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Panama and the United Kingdom, and stops there. Ireland is absent, and when we looked on 11 October 2026 the Tubi app was not in the Irish App Store either. Reaching Tubi from Ireland means using a U.S. address, which Tubi may accept or refuse.
Tubi has not said why, as far as we found. Apple keeps a separate storefront for each country; on 11 October 2026 “Tubi: Movies & Live TV” appeared in the U.S., UK, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand, Mexican and Puerto Rican ones, not the Irish one. That lines up with Tubi’s own list. A residential U.S. IP leaves the storefront unchanged, since it follows the country on your Apple Account.
Tubi’s own pages are silent on this. Cord Busters, and Presse-citron citing Variety, report that Tubi became unavailable in the European Union in 2018, when the GDPR privacy rules took effect, so Ireland, as an EU member, was part of that exit. We found no statement from Tubi itself, and no report of a launch aimed at Ireland before or since.
Yes, where Tubi offers it. Its help centre says: “Tubi is free, but it’s supported by advertising.” From Ireland the real question is whether Tubi will accept your connection at all, since Ireland is not on its list. USip, which supplies a U.S. address, is run separately from Tubi.
No. Tubi’s help centre, asked whether newcomers must set up accounts, replies: “No. You can still continue watching as a guest or register a single Tubi Account.” Registering is optional, and Tubi notes: “Tubi Accounts are for individuals who meet local age requirements, such as 13 or older in the United States.” Kids Mode works without signing in. For the check from Ireland, stay signed out, so the result depends on the connection alone.
No one can promise it, but ten minutes will tell you. USip’s residential U.S. IP gives your connection an everyday American consumer address, so Tubi sees a U.S. household instead of an eir or Virgin Media connection. Tubi still has the final say on every connection, USip’s included. Begin with one free title, as a guest, in a private window on a laptop.
No. USip and Tubi are separate services, and a USip plan covers the residential U.S. IP connection alone. Tubi lets guests watch without an account, and any account you open is between you and Tubi, which owns the catalogue, the ads and the live events and can refuse any connection.
No. Tubi launched in the UK in July 2024, and in July 2026 said the UK service had “tripled its content offering to over 75,000 movies and TV episodes”; Tubi puts its library at nearly 400,000. Rights are agreed territory by territory, as Tubi’s August 2026 deals for Australia, Canada and the UK show. Tubi UK serves the United Kingdom, Northern Ireland included, but not the Republic of Ireland.
Try a laptop first. For a TV, stick or console USip uses Smart DNS, because OpenVPN Connect will not run there: USip needs your home’s public IP address on record, and its DNS settings go on the TV or, for every device at once, on the router. That changes what Tubi sees from the TV, not what its app store offers, and we could not confirm what Irish TV app stores list.
In a normal week East Coast prime time, 8 p.m. in New York, reaches Dublin at 1 a.m., and Los Angeles prime time at 4 a.m. Because Irish and American clocks change on different Sundays, the gap to New York drops to four hours for one week from 25 October 2026 and for two weeks from 14 March 2027, and prime time then starts at midnight. On-demand titles keep no schedule.
We can’t say yes. On 23 September 2026 Tubi announced that it will stream FOX Sports’ Dallas Cowboys v Philadelphia Eagles game on Thursday 26 November 2026 at 4:30 p.m. ET, which is 9:30 p.m. in Dublin. The release does not say whether the game can be watched outside the U.S. As with everything else on Tubi, it is Tubi that decides which connections it accepts.
We found no Irish law banning VPN software as such, and the National Cyber Security Centre advises small businesses to use VPN services for secure communications. Treat that as our reading rather than legal advice, since we are not lawyers. Employers, colleges and hotels may set their own network rules. Irish court-ordered blocking is aimed at piracy sites, and whether Tubi takes a connection is Tubi’s decision.
RTÉ Player, TG4 Player and Virgin Media Play stream the Irish broadcasters’ channels and programmes; Virgin Media Play wants a free account, and TG4’s FAQ mentions none. Saorview delivers free-to-air channels to an aerial, and Samsung TV Plus comes built into Samsung TVs and Galaxy devices. Pluto TV has no Irish version. Switch USip off before opening an Irish player.

Tubi’s list, the ten-minute check and the device set-up are explained once on the hub, for every country. Separate guides cover Switzerland, Singapore, Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands, Sweden and Israel, where the local services, time zones and networks differ.
Unless a date is shown, we read each page on 11 October 2026. Help pages, app listings and channel line-ups can change at any time. The ComReg shares are for the second quarter of 2026, and we calculated the Dublin times ourselves.
Most of what Ireland watches for free is already within reach: RTÉ Player, TG4 Player, Virgin Media Play and Saorview, on Irish time and with Irish rights. Tubi’s own list leaves Ireland out, and the Irish App Store had no Tubi app on 11 October 2026.
For Tubi’s U.S. catalogue, keep the first step small: a laptop, the residential U.S. IP, tubitv.com in a private window and one free title watched as a guest. What happens next is Tubi’s decision; USip’s part is the address and nothing beyond it.
USip supplies the residential U.S. IP connection only. Tubi’s catalogue, ads, live events and decisions about any connection are Tubi’s own, and the Irish services named here belong to their broadcasters and to Samsung.
