No plan to sign up for
Tubi’s help centre puts it in one line: “Tubi is free, but it’s supported by advertising.” There is no Tubi plan to choose.
Short answer: Tubi does not list Switzerland. Its help page for viewers abroad begins “If you’re located outside the United States, you can watch Tubi on the following devices:” and goes on to name ten places — Canada, Australia, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Panama and the United Kingdom. Switzerland is not among them. When we looked on 11 October 2026, the Tubi app was not in the Swiss App Store.
At home, Switzerland’s own free services come first. The SRG’s players stream in three languages — Play SRF in German, Play RTS in French, Play RSI in Italian — and Play Suisse, behind a free SRG login, subtitles its programmes in German, French and Italian, some in Romansh too. Zattoo’s free tier, Samsung TV Plus and Pluto TV’s edition for Germany, Switzerland and Austria add free channels. None of them is Tubi.
If you still want the American service, start with one small check. On a laptop, connect USip’s residential U.S. IP, open tubitv.com in a private window and play one free title as a guest — Tubi needs no account for that. Tubi decides whether to accept the connection; USip changes only the address Tubi sees.

Before anything American, here is what people in Switzerland can watch free and legally today. We read each service’s own pages on 11 October 2026; where a page contradicted itself or would not open for us, the table says so.
| Service | What it is | How to watch, and any sign-in |
|---|---|---|
| Play Suisse (SRG SSR) | The SRG’s streaming platform, launched in November 2020. SRG says all content has the original sound plus German, French and Italian subtitles; selected programmes are also subtitled in Romansh. | Web, phone and tablet apps, and many TVs. Needs an SRG login, which SRG says you can create free. |
| Play SRF (SRF) | The German-language public broadcaster’s player: live channels and programmes on demand. | Browser or the Play SRF app. SRF’s help page mentions no sign-in; favourites are saved on your device. TV channels play only inside Switzerland. |
| Play RTS (RTS) | The French-language public broadcaster’s player: live TV and catch-up. | Browser or the Play RTS app. RTS’s help page mentions a login only for lists kept in step across devices. TV programmes stream only in Switzerland. |
| Play RSI (RSI) | The Italian-language public broadcaster’s player: live TV and catch-up. | Browser or the Play RSI app. RSI’s help page mentions no login; personal lists stay on the device. Live TV plays only in Switzerland. |
| Zattoo Free (Zattoo) | The free tier of a TV streaming service. Zattoo’s Swiss page advertises over 280 free channels; ProSiebenSat.1 and RTL Group channels are not included. | Needs a free Zattoo account (an e-mail address). No time limit in the browser or the iOS and Android apps; 10 hours a month on connected TVs. |
| Samsung TV Plus (Samsung) | Free live channels on Samsung TVs, funded by advertising, says Samsung’s Swiss page. Channels vary by country. | Built into Samsung smart TVs; also on Galaxy phones and tablets. The page says no registration is needed, then in a footnote that a Samsung account is required. |
| Pluto TV | Free live channels and on-demand titles. Pluto TV’s own site has pages titled for Germany, Switzerland and Austria, several with German show names. | Browser, apps and many TVs. Its pages showed us the U.S. edition, so we could not read the Swiss line-up; check it on your own device. |
Read down the right-hand column and a pattern appears. The SRG players are free, but they stop at the border: SRF, RTS and RSI each say their TV channels play only in Switzerland, and SRF adds that for some programmes it can only buy online rights for Switzerland. Tubi works the same way from the other side — free in the places on its list, and Switzerland is not one of them.
So keep the two apart. If you switch on a U.S. address to look at Tubi, switch it off before you return to Play SRF, Play RTS or Play RSI; a Swiss player that sees an American address can refuse its live channels.
Line-ups and catalogues change without notice; each row was checked on 11 October 2026 against the service’s own page. None of these services is Tubi.

We found no public explanation from Tubi of why some countries get its service and others do not. What we can show is what each source says, and where the record stops.
| What we checked | What we found | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Tubi’s own list of places outside the U.S. | Canada, Australia, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Panama and the United Kingdom. Switzerland is not named. | Tubi Help Center, read 11 October 2026 |
| The Swiss App Store | No Tubi app on 11 October 2026. The same app was listed in the U.S., UK, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand, Mexican and Puerto Rican stores. | Apple’s App Store, looked up country by country |
| Any earlier Tubi service in Switzerland | We could not confirm whether Tubi was ever offered here, and we found no Tubi statement about Switzerland either way. | Our own web search, 11 October 2026 |
| How Tubi licenses films and series | Territory by territory: its August 2026 deals with NBCUniversal and Sony Pictures cover more than 450 library titles “across Australia, Canada and the U.K.” | Tubi press release, 26 August 2026 |
| Tubi’s UK service | Launched in July 2024; by July 2026 Tubi said it had “tripled its content offering to over 75,000 movies and TV episodes”. | Tubi press release, 22 July 2026 |
| Tubi’s library | Nearly 400,000 movies and TV episodes, Tubi’s own figure in September 2026. | Tubi press release, 23 September 2026 |
The pieces fit together like this. Tubi licenses titles place by place, so each country it serves gets its own collection: over 75,000 titles in the UK against the nearly 400,000 Tubi gives for its library. We found no explanation from Tubi for its choice of countries and no Tubi announcement about Switzerland, so we do not guess at reasons.
One caution: Switzerland is in neither the EU nor the EEA, so reports about Tubi and the European Union do not answer the Swiss question. For Switzerland the record is short — not on Tubi’s list, not in the Swiss App Store, no confirmed history either way.

Tubi is an American streaming service, part of Fox. Below are its own words and figures, each dated, because the numbers move.
Tubi’s help centre puts it in one line: “Tubi is free, but it’s supported by advertising.” There is no Tubi plan to choose.
Asked whether newcomers must set up accounts, Tubi answers: “No. You can still continue watching as a guest or register a single Tubi Account.” Its Kids Mode also works without signing in.
Tubi’s wording: “Tubi Accounts are for individuals who meet local age requirements, such as 13 or older in the United States.” Watching as a guest involves no account at all.
Fox Corporation announced on 17 March 2020 that it would acquire Tubi. On 6 August 2026 Tubi reported 110 million monthly active users, up 14% in a year, and 2.3% of all U.S. TV viewing in April 2026 by Nielsen’s measure.
In August 2026 Tubi counted more than 375,000 movies and TV episodes, including over 400 Tubi Originals and 25,000 creator episodes; on 23 September it said nearly 400,000.
In October 2022 Tubi said it had over 200 live sports, entertainment and news channels. Its September 2026 release names the NFL Channel, “the NFL's 24/7 free, always-on channel”.
For Thanksgiving, Tubi says it will stream FOX Sports’ Dallas Cowboys vs Philadelphia Eagles game on Thursday 26 November 2026 at 4:30 p.m. ET — 22:30 in Zurich. The release does not say whether the game can be watched outside the U.S., and this page does not assume it can. For comparison, Super Bowl LIX, on 9 February 2025, was streamed free on Tubi in the U.S., live only, and Tubi said a free account was required to view it.

Tubi’s live channels and events follow American time. For most of the year a clock in Zurich reads six hours later than one in New York, and nine hours later than one in Los Angeles. We worked out every time below with Python’s zoneinfo on 11 October 2026.
| On U.S. time | In Switzerland | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| 8 p.m. Eastern, most evenings | 02:00, the next morning | U.S. prime time lands in the Swiss night |
| 8 p.m. Eastern, 25–31 October 2026 | 01:00, the next morning | Swiss clocks have gone back; U.S. clocks follow on 1 November |
| 8 p.m. Eastern, 14–27 March 2027 | 01:00, the next morning | U.S. clocks have gone forward; Swiss clocks follow on 28 March |
| 8 p.m. Pacific, most evenings | 05:00, the next morning | West Coast prime time, at a Swiss breakfast |
| 2 p.m. Eastern, most days | 20:00, the same day | An American afternoon fills a Swiss evening |
| Thursday 26 November 2026, 4:30 p.m. ET | Thursday 26 November, 22:30 | Tubi’s Thanksgiving game; the release does not say it can be watched outside the U.S. |
Why the odd weeks? The two sides of the Atlantic move their clocks on different Sundays. In autumn Switzerland goes back first, on 25 October 2026, and the U.S. a week later, on 1 November. In spring the U.S. moves first, on 14 March 2027, and Switzerland follows on 28 March. While one side has changed and the other has not, New York is only five hours behind.
For anything live, that means the small hours in Bern or Lausanne. Tubi’s on-demand films and episodes are the easier side of the service from here: they start when you press play, at whatever hour suits a Swiss evening.

Tubi reads the public address each request comes from. On any Swiss network that address is Swiss, so the brand of your provider changes nothing on Tubi’s list. The shares show which networks most Swiss homes and phones use.
| Provider | Mobile, share at end of 2024 | Fixed broadband, share at end of 2024 |
|---|---|---|
| Swisscom | 53.1% | Around 47% |
| Sunrise | 23.6% | 28% |
| Salt | 17.7% | 6% |
| Quickline | Not given separately | 4.5% |
| iWay and Green | Not given separately | 1.9% and 1% |
| Everyone else | 5.5% | 11.4%, spread across 144 providers |
ComCom, the federal communications commission, published these shares in its Activity Report 2025 in March 2026, based on OFCOM’s Statistical Observatory; its mobile page, published on 29 May 2026, still names the end of 2024 as the newest period. The report counts about 4.2 million fixed broadband connections at the end of 2024, and gives mobile customer numbers for the end of 2025: 6,438,000 at Swisscom, 3,159,000 at Sunrise and 2,254,000 at Salt.
What Tubi sees depends less on the provider than on three things. IPv6 first: if your line carries an IPv6 address next to the IPv4 one, a browser may send Tubi either, so an IPv6 address that still belongs to Swisscom, Sunrise or Salt can show Switzerland while the IPv4 address is American. Mobile data second: a phone on its Swiss network has its own Swiss address, untouched by a connection on the laptop. Third, a workplace, campus or hotel network may filter what leaves it, so the first check belongs on your home line.

None of these makes Tubi say yes. They differ in the address Tubi sees, and in how ordinary that address looks.
| Connection | What Tubi sees | Plain note |
|---|---|---|
| Your home line or Swiss mobile data | An address registered to Swisscom, Sunrise, Salt or another Swiss network | The right choice for Play SRF, Play RTS, Play RSI and Play Suisse. For Tubi it is an address from a country missing from its list. |
| A free VPN app | One server address used by a crowd of strangers at the same time | Crowded and unpredictable, and a shared server address is easy for a service to recognise. |
| A data-centre VPN | An address owned by a hosting firm, sometimes located in the U.S. | The country can be right while the address still belongs to a data centre; a data-centre address is easy for a service to recognise. |
| USip residential U.S. IP | A single residential IP address on an American consumer network, which USip assigns | Only the address changes. Tubi may still say no. |
Everything that happens after that is Tubi’s decision.
USip supplies a connection — not a Tubi account, not a library and not a promise.

The order matters: each step rules out one possible cause before the next. You need a laptop and USip. Tubi needs nothing from you, because a guest can watch.
Load your USip profile in OpenVPN Connect on a Windows PC or a Mac and connect (step by step: the Windows guide or the Mac guide). Then visit any IP address checker. The IPv4 result has to be American. If the checker also shows an IPv6 address, that address must not belong to a Swiss network such as Swisscom, Sunrise or Salt.
A private window opens with no stored cookies, so Tubi has nothing left over from a visit you made earlier on your Swiss address. Type tubitv.com yourself and let the home page load.
Pick any film or episode and let it run for about a minute, ad breaks included. Do not sign up: Tubi’s own answer is “No. You can still continue watching as a guest or register a single Tubi Account.” Staying a guest keeps the account out of the result.
A title that keeps playing means Tubi took the connection that evening. If Tubi shows an error or a message about where you are, copy its exact words first. Then disconnect and reconnect USip, start a fresh private window and make a single second attempt. Should the same message come back, send those exact words to USip support rather than trying again and again.
One good evening proves only that evening: Tubi can change what it accepts whenever it likes, and nothing here promises otherwise. For USip’s own record, see USip’s published checks; this guide does not summarise them.

USip recorded the four videos below in November 2022, and their titles use Tubi’s old name. What they show of the USip setup is still correct. Tubi’s screens have changed, and the store-country switch in the phone videos is out of date — leave that part out.

Put OpenVPN Connect on the PC, import your USip profile, connect, then visit tubitv.com in a private window. A computer browser needs nothing from an app store, so it is the simplest place to begin. The video follows the same path: it sets up the connection and opens Tubi’s website.
Going back to Play SRF, Play RTS or Zattoo? Disconnect first — those services expect a Swiss address.
Step by step: the Windows setup guide.

On macOS the steps match the PC: OpenVPN Connect, the USip profile, a browser. Should Safari and another browser on the same Mac disagree about Tubi, look at which IPv6 address each one reports before touching any setting. The Mac video’s connection steps are current; the Tubi pages it shows date from 2022.
Step by step: the Mac setup guide.

The phone needs its own OpenVPN Connect session. On Swiss mobile data it has a Swiss address of its own, and the laptop’s connection does nothing for it.
The video also shows a Google Play country switch. That part is out of date — leave it out. Google’s rule is that “To set up a new country or region, you must be in that location”, with at least 90 days between changes. We have not looked Tubi up in Google Play for Switzerland or any other country.
Step by step: the Android setup guide.

When we looked on 11 October 2026, the Tubi app was not in the Swiss App Store. Which App Store an iPhone shows depends on the country of its Apple Account, and Apple’s own support page, listed in the sources, sets out what a change of country involves.
Skip the App Store country switch in the video; it dates from 2022 and is out of date. The USip part of the video is still right.
Step by step: the iOS setup guide.
The living-room TV comes last. The OpenVPN Connect app does not run on televisions, sticks or consoles, so for those USip uses Smart DNS: you give USip the public IP address of your home connection, then enter the DNS details in the TV’s network settings, or once in the router so every device at home uses them. If your internet provider later gives your home a different public address, register that one with USip too. The Smart DNS guide has each step.
Smart DNS changes what Tubi sees from the TV. It does not put the Tubi app on a TV whose app store doesn’t offer it in Switzerland, and we could not confirm which TV app stores offer Tubi here.

One residential U.S. IP — an ordinary consumer address on a U.S. ISP, not a server range. USip and Tubi are separate services: the plans include the connection only — not a Tubi account, an app-store region or the rights to any channel, series or film.
Separate services: these prices are for the USip residential U.S. IP service only. Tubi is a separate service, free with ads; a Tubi account and access to any particular channel, series or film are not part of a USip plan.
Which apps you are offered depends on the country set in your Apple or Google account, not on your internet connection. USip alters the address Tubi sees and leaves your store country as it was.
“Tubi: Movies & Live TV” from Tubi, Inc was listed in the U.S., UK, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand, Mexican and Puerto Rican App Stores, but not in the Swiss one. Apple’s support page explains its conditions for moving an account to another country.
We have not looked Tubi up in Google Play for Switzerland. Google’s rule for a new Play country: “To set up a new country or region, you must be in that location.” Google also says you “must wait at least 90 days” between one change and the next.
The website, tubitv.com, needs no app store at all. Tubi lists the web among its supported platforms in the U.S., so a laptop browser is the plainest way to see what Tubi does with your connection.
Tubi’s U.S. device page includes Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV (4th generation), Chromecast, Samsung, LG, Vizio, Hisense, PlayStation and Xbox. That list is for the U.S. and says nothing about Swiss TV stores.
We could not confirm whether any TV app store — Samsung, LG, Google TV, Apple TV or an operator’s box — offers the Tubi app to Swiss accounts. Smart DNS does not add an app the store does not offer.
This page will not point you to made-up American addresses, someone else’s account or unofficial app stores. Where your store lists no Tubi app, use tubitv.com in a laptop browser instead.

We have not found a Swiss law that bans VPN software as such. Nobody writing this page is a lawyer, so read it as a summary of public sources, not as legal advice.
The plainest official statement we found is from the NCSC, the federal administration’s cybersecurity office. Its public Wi-Fi advice of 23 July 2024 reads: “If you can, use a Virtual Private Network (VPN).” The point there is protecting your data on shared networks; streaming, and Tubi, are not mentioned.
Switzerland is also reworking its telecom surveillance ordinances, which set duties for companies obliged to help with lawful surveillance. A first consultation began on 29 January 2025. In its release of 11 February 2026 the Federal Council acknowledged the responses and announced a second consultation for when the final draft exists. Neither VPN software nor private users appear in that release, and on 11 October 2026 the surveillance service’s press page showed no newer decision.
Our search turned up no statute or regulator text forbidding private VPN use. The federal advice points the other way for public Wi-Fi, and the surveillance revision deals with companies’ duties and remains a draft.
Employers, schools and other network owners may have rules of their own, and particular uses can raise their own legal questions. When the answer matters, a Swiss lawyer is the right person to ask. Tubi, separately, decides which connections it accepts.

Answered from Tubi’s own pages, Apple’s and Google’s help pages, the SRG’s and ComCom’s pages and the federal administration. Anything we could not confirm is marked as such.
No. Tubi’s help page lists the places outside the U.S. where it can be watched: Canada, Australia, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Panama and the United Kingdom. Switzerland is not on that list, which we read on 11 October 2026, and the Tubi app was not in the Swiss App Store that day.
We found no explanation from Tubi. What we know is the result: on 11 October 2026 “Tubi: Movies & Live TV” was listed in the U.S., UK, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand, Mexican and Puerto Rican App Stores, but missing from the Swiss one. An iPhone shows the App Store of its Apple Account’s country, and Apple’s support page explains what changing that country involves. We don’t suggest workarounds.
We could not confirm whether Tubi was ever offered in Switzerland. We found no Tubi announcement of a Swiss launch or a Swiss exit. Switzerland is in neither the EU nor the EEA, so reports about Tubi and the European Union do not settle the question for Switzerland. What we can confirm is the present: Switzerland is not on Tubi’s list, checked 11 October 2026.
In the places Tubi serves, yes: “Tubi is free, but it’s supported by advertising.” There is no Tubi plan to choose. Free does not mean available everywhere, though, and Switzerland is not on Tubi’s list. USip is a separate service: a USip plan covers the residential U.S. IP connection only, not anything on Tubi’s side.
Not to watch. Tubi’s answer to newcomers: “No. You can still continue watching as a guest or register a single Tubi Account.” Accounts follow local age rules, with 13 or older in the U.S. as Tubi’s example, and Kids Mode works without signing in. For the check on this page, stay a guest so the result is about the connection only. Big live events can differ: for Super Bowl LIX in February 2025, Tubi required a free account.
Only Tubi can answer that. With a residential U.S. IP, the address Tubi reads is an American household one rather than your Swiss address; nothing else about you changes. Tubi may turn away any connection, USip’s too. To see what happens for you, follow the four steps on this page: laptop, private window, one free title as a guest, roughly a minute.
No. What USip provides is a single residential U.S. IP address, which USip assigns: a connection, nothing more. There is no Tubi account, channel or title in a USip plan, and none is needed to watch Tubi as a guest. USip cannot change Tubi’s decisions, Tubi’s library or what the Swiss App Store offers.
No. Tubi UK launched in July 2024 and, by Tubi’s count in July 2026, had tripled its offering to over 75,000 movies and TV episodes. Tubi puts its library at nearly 400,000. Tubi licenses titles territory by territory; its August 2026 deals with NBCUniversal and Sony Pictures cover Australia, Canada and the UK. Switzerland has neither service: it is not on Tubi’s list.
A TV, stick or console cannot run OpenVPN Connect, so USip sets it up with Smart DNS: you register the public IP address of your home with USip and enter the DNS details on the TV or the router. Smart DNS changes what Tubi sees; it does not add the Tubi app to a TV store that doesn’t offer it, and we could not confirm which TV stores offer Tubi in Switzerland. Start with a laptop.
Usually 02:00 the next morning, because New York runs six hours behind Zurich. For one week from 25 October 2026 and two weeks from 14 March 2027 the gap shrinks to five hours, and 8 p.m. Eastern becomes 01:00. West Coast prime time, 8 p.m. Pacific, is usually 05:00 in Switzerland. Tubi’s on-demand films and episodes have no start time at all.
We cannot say that you can. Tubi’s release of 23 September 2026 says it will stream FOX Sports’ Dallas Cowboys vs Philadelphia Eagles game on Thursday 26 November 2026 at 4:30 p.m. ET, which is 22:30 in Zurich. The release does not say whether the game can be watched outside the U.S. Treat it as a U.S. event unless Tubi says otherwise.
Start with the SRG’s players: Play SRF, Play RTS and Play RSI stream free in German, French and Italian, and Play Suisse subtitles its programmes in all three behind a free SRG login. Zattoo’s Swiss free tier needs a free account, Samsung TV Plus runs on Samsung TVs, and Pluto TV has an edition for Germany, Switzerland and Austria. We checked each on 11 October 2026; line-ups change.
As far as we could find, no Swiss law bans VPN software as such. The federal cybersecurity office even advises one for public Wi-Fi: “If you can, use a Virtual Private Network (VPN).” The revision of the telecom surveillance ordinances is still a draft and deals with companies’ duties. This is not legal advice; for your own case, ask a Swiss lawyer. Whether Tubi accepts a connection is Tubi’s decision.
Because they are Swiss services with Swiss rights. SRF, RTS and RSI each say their TV channels play only in Switzerland, and some programmes are licensed for Switzerland alone. With USip connected, they see an American address. Disconnect before you go back to a Swiss player, and connect again before you open Tubi.

Tubi’s list and the check are explained in general on the hub. Oslo, Copenhagen, Amsterdam and Stockholm keep Zurich’s clock; Dublin runs an hour behind, Jerusalem usually an hour ahead, and Singapore six or seven hours ahead, depending on the season.
The main pages behind this guide, each read on 11 October 2026 unless a date is given. Other pages, such as Play RTS’s, Play RSI’s, Zattoo’s, Samsung’s and Pluto TV’s, are named in the text where we use them.
For free viewing in Switzerland the order is simple: Play SRF, Play RTS, Play RSI and Play Suisse first, then Zattoo’s free tier, Samsung TV Plus or Pluto TV if you want more channels. They are legal and local, and the SRG players alone cover German, French and Italian.
If it is the American Tubi you want, keep the first attempt small and readable: one laptop on the residential U.S. IP, an address checker, a private window, one free title as a guest, about a minute. Add the phone only after that, and the TV last, through Smart DNS. If Tubi answers with a message, note its exact words, try once more and pass them to USip support. The decision stays with Tubi.
USip supplies the residential U.S. IP connection only. Tubi’s library, ads, live events and decisions belong to Tubi, and Tubi can refuse any connection, USip’s included.
