Short answer: Hulu is an American service, sold in the United States only, so there is no Belgian version to sign up for. What Belgium does have is a Hulu tile. Since 8 October 2025 the entertainment section of Belgian Disney+ has carried the Hulu name, with a catalogue licensed for Belgium — and Disney itself notes that Hulu content “may vary by region”.
If what you want is your own U.S. Hulu account — kept from years in the States, or from a U.S. campus — two things must line up: an active U.S. plan that includes the title, and a connection Hulu reads as an American household. A residential U.S. IP covers the second. It does nothing for the first.
The Belgian part of the story is the network. Belgium was the first country to pass 50% IPv6 capability, in 2016, and on many Proximus, Telenet and VOO lines a Belgian IPv6 address travels next to the IPv4 one. Disney+ arrived in Belgium on 15 September 2020, the same day as Luxembourg, Portugal and the Nordic countries. Its entertainment tile used to carry the Star label; since 8 October 2025 the same shelf has been presented under the Hulu name. So a Belgian household with Disney+ already opens an app that says Hulu — and for a lot of searches, that is the right place to look.
It comes with a Disney+ subscription and holds what Disney has the rights to show here. Disney’s Belgian page names Paradise and Alien: Earth among the Hulu titles, then adds that Hulu content “may vary by region”. Type the exact title into its search before you try anything else.
Proximus agreed with Disney to put Disney+ on its decoder from the Belgian launch day, and today sells it as a Pickx TV option on its Android TV box. If that is how your household watches, the Hulu tile is already on the television.
Standalone Hulu has its own accounts, plans and library, and it is sold in the United States only. The shared name does not carry the American licences with it — which is why a search in Brussels and a search in Boston can return different results.

Language decides more than people expect. U.S. Hulu is made for the American market, and the only language add-on in its U.S. price list is Español. If you need Dutch or French — for yourself, or for children who read subtitles in one of them — the Belgian services and the Hulu tile inside Disney+ are the places built for Belgian viewers.

Hulu states its limits plainly, and they are worth reading in its words rather than in anyone’s summary. Here they are, with what each one means for someone in Antwerp, Brussels or Liège.
Hulu’s help centre says: “The videos on Hulu are only available in the U.S.” Its Subscriber Agreement says the service is “only available in the United States and certain of its territories”, and that subscribers “may not access the Services from locations where we do not have rights.” A Belgian address is outside all of that.
On-demand subscribers “are able to stream anywhere in the U.S. — including Puerto Rico and U.S. military bases.” Live TV subscribers are “not able to stream in U.S. territories, on U.S. military bases, or internationally.” Neither sentence stretches to a flat in Ghent.
The same agreement asks subscribers not to use “any technology or technique to obscure or disguise your location.” A residential U.S. IP changes the location Hulu reads, so this is the clause our product runs into.
In plain terms: nobody living in Belgium can start a Hulu subscription, and nothing sold in Belgium turns into one. IPv6 is the newer internet address system, running alongside the older IPv4. Belgium was ahead of everyone for years: the Internet Society says it led every country for most of the period from 2014 to early 2018, and in November 2016 became the first to pass 50% IPv6 capability, briefly. In its 2026 report, 63% of Belgian users can reach online services over IPv6, against a European average of 34%.

Why this matters for Hulu: a device on a dual-stack line — one with both kinds of address — can reach a website either way. A U.S. connection that handles only IPv4 does nothing to the IPv6 path, and that path still starts in Belgium.
The result looks like a mystery and is not one. The IPv4 checker says United States; Hulu, answering over IPv6, receives a request from a Proximus, Telenet or VOO address and replies with a location error. Nothing has been ‘seen through’. Hulu simply got a Belgian request.
The cure is dull and dependable. Look at both address types before opening Hulu. If a Belgian IPv6 address shows up, either use a connection that carries IPv6 as well, or switch IPv6 off on the device for the test — and look again.
Expect mixed results inside one flat. The laptop on Telenet Wi-Fi with IPv6 enabled fails; the older tablet without IPv6 plays. The difference is the address each one sends, not Hulu changing its mind.

Three companies hold nearly all of Belgium’s internet market: in the Internet Society’s 2026 figures Proximus has 44% of the market, Telenet 29% and Orange Belgium 24%. Whichever you use, and in whichever region, the address says Belgium. What differs is how much of the time it also says it in IPv6.

Belgium is not short of IPv4 addresses in the way some countries are — the registry’s delegation records put about 12.2 million of them here, for some 11.9 million people. It moved to IPv6 anyway, and early. For a Hulu test that is the fact that matters, far more than the logo on the modem.
The operator matters less than one question: does your line give your device an IPv6 address? Check that, and the Proximus-or-Telenet choice makes very little difference to what Hulu sees.

Any U.S. server can make a checker say United States. Hulu looks further than the country: its help page names “a VPN or VPS” as a cause of its location error, and warns about addresses “block listed because of previous anonymous proxy use.”

The order is there for diagnosis. When something fails you should know whether it was the account, the browser, the address or the licence — instead of guessing between all four.
Open the Hulu account page and confirm two things: the subscription is active, and its tier covers the title you are after. A show outside your tier stays locked from any address, so it is better to find that out now than after an evening of changing settings.
In a laptop browser you can watch the address, the cookies and Hulu’s reply side by side, with no app store in the way. Set it up with the Windows guide or the Mac guide; Android, iPhone and the television wait until the laptop has passed.
With the connection up, an address checker should report the United States for IPv4 and show no IPv6 address belonging to Proximus, Telenet, Orange or VOO. Every device adds one more thing that can say ‘Belgium’: an app store, a stored location, a decoder. Get a laptop browser working before anything else. The videos below were filmed in December 2022: follow them for the connection, not for Hulu’s menus, which have changed since.
A Windows laptop has no app-store country to argue with, which makes it the cleanest first test. Which apps Google Play offers depends on the country of your Google account, and for a Belgian account the U.S. Hulu app is not among them, whatever the network says. Moving the account to another country has consequences for purchases and subscriptions, so never do it halfway through a test. On the television, Proximus’s Pickx runs on an Android TV box and offers Disney+ — which gives you the Hulu tile, not U.S. Hulu.

Apple shows each account the App Store of its own country, and a Belgian Apple Account gets the Belgian one. Test on home Wi-Fi rather than mobile data. Proximus planned IPv6 for iPhones on iOS 15.4 from March 2022, and on mobile it shares each IPv4 address among up to 16 subscribers, in its own 2022 figures. One residential U.S. IP — a consumer address on a U.S. ISP, not the “VPN or VPS” ranges Hulu’s help page names. USip and Hulu are separate services: the plans include the connection only — not a Hulu subscription, account, app-store region, home network or rights to a title.

Belgium keeps Central European Time and moves its clocks on the European dates. New York is six hours behind Brussels for most of the year and Los Angeles nine — but Europe and the United States change their clocks on different weekends, so twice a year the gap briefly shrinks by an hour.
An 8 p.m. programme in New York is 2 a.m. in Brussels; an 8 p.m. programme in Los Angeles is 5 a.m. Live TV is off the table from Belgium anyway, so plan your evenings around on-demand episodes.
In 2026 Belgium returns to winter time on 25 October and the U.S. on 1 November, so for that week New York is only five hours behind. It happens again in spring 2027, from 14 to 28 March.
Bring the connection up and check both address types before the Hulu page or app starts. If Hulu sees Belgium first, that verdict can sit in a cookie and spoil every retry that follows.

The Internet Society measured average Belgian fixed broadband at about 143 Mbps in 2026. Hulu asks for around 3 Mbps on demand, 8 for live streams and 16 for 4K, so if playback stutters with the app connected, look at the route to the United States first.
