How to Watch Hulu in Sweden
Sweden was in Disney+’s second European wave, so the Star hub — now labelled Hulu — has been part of the Swedish app since 2021. Disney’s October 2025 rebrand swapped Star for Hulu across international Disney+ apps. The tile is new; the catalogue behind it is the one Star already had.
There is exactly one country where you can buy Hulu, and it is the United States. Hulu’s own support pages say so without hedging. The confusion is understandable and it is new. Until last autumn nobody in Sweden saw the word Hulu in a Disney app at all. The catalogue behind that tile is licensed locally. It overlaps with U.S. Hulu in places and misses most of it.

Paying for Hulu from Sweden: what is and is not possible
Most of the confusion here comes from treating one problem as three, or three as one. These are the three, and they do not overlap.
Payment is limited to U.S. cards, PayPal and Hulu gift cards. Hulu’s help page uses the phrase “U.S. based credit or debit cards”. A gift card has to be bought in the U.S. and redeemed on a hulu.com page, so it does not remove the location question — it just moves it.
An existing U.S. account, used from abroad
If the subscription is already yours and already paid, nothing about it needs to change. For travel, Hulu’s position is that streaming works anywhere in the United States. Leaving the country is a different situation and Hulu treats it as one. What changes is the address your device presents.
Starting from scratch in Sweden
This is the harder case and worth being straight about. The gift-card route has an end date built in — Hulu cancels the account when the balance is used up and nothing else is on file. A residential U.S. IP does not create an account, issue a card or change an app-store country.
